Udhaynidhi Stalin is not the first I.N.D.I alliance leader to insult Hindu Dharma. Being anti-Hindu is one of the most important criteria for becoming a member of the alliance.
20 instances of anti-Hindu stance taken by I.N.D.I alliance members
1) After Udhaynidhi Stalin, two alarming instances of Hindu hate came to the fore from Tamil Nadu (TN). DMK spokesperson Constantine Ravindran suggested that people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar may lack common sense and intelligence due to the influence of Sanatana Dharma. In another alarming incident involving an I.N.D.I Alliance, a member of Thol. Thirumavalavan’s Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi (VCK) issued a threat to destroy the Sankara Matha in Kanchipuram.
2) TN Congress leaders jumped in to defend Stalin. Son of Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram and Sivagangai MP, Karti Chidambaram said that in the common parlance of Tamil Nadu, Sanathana Dharma means “Caste Hierarchical Society”. Lakshmi Ramachandran, the General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee claimed that Sanathanam is another name for the hate-mongering, casteist Hindutva which has its origins in the North.
3) Not to be left behind Karnataka Congress leader Priyank Kharge, who has taken it upon himself to ensure the Islamization of Karnataka, endorsed Stalin’s offensive remarks. “Any religion that does not promote equality or does not ensure you have the dignity of being human is not religion, according to me… Any religion that does not give equal rights or does not treat you like humans is as good as disease…”, he replied to a question specifically on Stalin’s eradication of Sanatan Dharma remark.
4) On July 21, 2023, AN Shamseer, the Kerala Assembly Speaker, emphasised the promotion of ‘scientific temper’ in education over what he labelled ‘myths’. He spoke sacrilegiously about Sri Ganesha and Hindu itihasa, under the guise of promoting ‘scientific temper’ while addressing school children. CPI(M) Kerala State Secretary MV Govindan defended Assembly Speaker AN Shamsheer’s sacrilegious statements.
5) This June, RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) MLA Ritlal Yadav went on an anti-Hindu tirade while blaming the BJP for spreading ‘hate’. “Look into the history, Ramcharitmanas was written in a mosque”, claimed Yadav. Yadav’s statement is both ill-informed and a complete lie.
6) Two other RJD leaders who made anti-Hindu statements were Shivanand Tiwari and Bihar Education Minister RJD MLA Chandrashekhar Yadav. Tiwari said there is a lot of ‘kooda karkat’ (garbage) in Ramanaya along with diamonds and pearls. Yadav opined that the Hindu Grantha spreads ‘hatred’. He demanded the burning of books such as Manusmriti, Ramcharitmanas by Goswami Tulsidas and Bunch of Thoughts by Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar saying these worked towards keeping a majority of the population backwards.
7) After Manusmriti, Ramcharitmanas has become the target of many politicians. Among them is Swami Prasad Maurya of the Samajwadi Party (SP). He was booked with ten others who burnt copies of the Hindu Grantha to ‘express solidarity’ with Maurya. ‘Discrimination against certain sections’ of society is used as a convenient excuse by politicians like Maurya to hide their Hindu hate.
This April, a video of Maurya came to the fore in which he was making an objectionable comment on Prabhu Sri Ram. In the video, Maurya can be heard saying — “Mile Mulayam Kanshi Ram…” and pauses for the crowd to complete the sentence saying “…Hawa main ud gaye Jai Shri Ram” — a contentious political slogan that was coined in the early 1990s. The latest instance of Maurya bearing his anti-Hindu fangs came last month when he remarked “Hindu Dharma is not a religion, it is just a hoax”.
8) When it comes to Hindu hatred NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) leader Jitendra Awhad has repeatedly proved himself. He wanted the makers of The Kerala Story hanged in public. Addressing an NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) public rally on April 21, he said that Ram Navami and Hanuman Janmotsav are meant to spark riots.
Earlier, Awhad, notorious for minority appeasement and hooliganism against those who oppose him, came up with a new secular gem. He opined that Aurangzeb was not a Hindu hater even though he was cruel. Last November, he led NCP hooligans to disrupt the Har Har Mahadev movie screening and manhandled the public who had come to see the film.
9) While defending Stalin’s statement 2G scam fame DMK leader A Raja took Hindu hate a notch higher. “I am oddly surprised that Udhayanidhi Stalin had only spoken about it softly saying (Sanatana Dharma) has to be eradicated like malaria and dengue…Society won’t look at them disgustingly. If we have to call it something disgusting, there was leprosy, there is HIV today. For us, just like leprosy and HIV, we’ve to see it (Sanathana Dharma) as a social stigma”, he said while participating in a protest meeting against the Central government organized by rabid anti-Hindu outfit Dravida Kazhagam. Last October, Raja said that anyone who identifies as Hindu is a child of a prostitute.
10) ‘Hindutva’ icon turned secular leader Uddhav Thackeray has used attacking former alliance partner BJP as a facade to express his Hindudvesh. On June 18 speaking at a conclave held to celebrate Shiv Sena Foundation Day, Thackeray parroted Western propaganda by equating the holy Hindu symbol Swastika to Nazi Hakenkreuz.
Thackeray is a habitual offender when it comes to hurting Hindu sentiments although he cleverly hides his Hindudvesh as anti-BJP-RSS jibes. This March, he used the ‘gaumutra’ jibe in the guise of targeting the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) while speaking at the Golibar Maidan in Ratnagiri’s Khed. Social media (SM) users were quick to point out similarities between his speech and that of jihadi groups that often use the ‘piss drinker’ jibes.
In October 2020, while speaking at the annual Shiv Sena Dusshera Mela, Uddhav Thackeray alleged that BJP’s Hindutva is confined only to Gaumutra and Cow Dung. In December 2020, he had taken a jibe at Fadnavis by speaking derogatorily of Brahmins. Thackeray wanted to imply that Brahmins only read horoscopes. Thackeray should bear in mind that not only Brahmins but every Hindu community reads and follows the horoscopes before performing rituals.
11) In April 2021, Congress ex-minister P. Chidambaram, who coined the term ‘saffron terrorism’, tweeted terming Sanatan Dharma a ‘toxic ideology’.
12) Karnataka Congress leader Satish Jarikholi, who is now a cabinet minister in the Siddaramaiah government, had said in a public event that ‘Hindu’ is a ‘vulgar’ word and does not have its origins in India.
13) In May this year, DMK MP Senthilkumar spoke at Dravida Kazhagam (DK), a certified anti-Hindu organization and the parent body of the Dravidian parties, Salem conference. On this occasion, Senthilkumar constantly attacked Bhagwan Krishna and Prabhu Sri Ram as well as made propagandistic statements against the Mahabharat and Ramayana under the garb of rationality. He used all of these arguments to extort people to teach ‘rationalism’ to their children.
14) In 2020, National Warkari Parishad, the main organization of Sri Vittal bhakts (devotees) called for the boycott of NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar terming the latter anti-Hindu. The chief of the body Sri Vakte Maharaj has asked the warkari samaj not to invite Pawar to any function of the samaj. While making this declaration Vakte Maharaj pointed out how Pawar has always been anti-Hindu, and stated that Pawar has often made negative remarks about Ramayan. He also said that Pawar supports atheists and hence remains absent from Vittal Pooja.
15) TMC leaders have made a hobby out of demeaning Hindu Gods, be it Bhagwan Ram, Bhagwan Shiv, or Maa Kali. One among them is the motormouth parliamentarian from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) Mahua Moitra. She had demeaned Shivling and Maa Kali last year by making absurd claims.
16) Nothing better can be expected of Moitra when her party chief Mamata Banerjee takes pride in being anti-Hindu. Although there are several times Banerjee has revealed her Hinduphobic side, the one incident that readily comes to mind is the one when she took offence to Jai Sri Ram’s slogan.
During the first Parakram Diwas (day of valour) celebration initiated by the Bharatiya Government’s Ministry of Culture, during Banerjee’s address some of the people present in the function started chanting “Jai Shri Ram”. For some reason, this made her feel terribly insulted. “Lekin kisi ko aamantrit kar ke beijjat karna aap logon ko shobha nahi deta. (It is unbecoming of you all to insult someone after inviting her to an event). In protest of this, I am not speaking anything more. Jai Hind. Jai Bangla”, she said before storming off the stage.
17) Last October, in his interview with a newspaper KPCC (Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee) President K Sudhakaran spoke about differences between leaders of North and South Kerala. However, in order to drive home his point, Sudhakaran wrongly interpreted and thereby openly insulted the Ramayana. He said on their return journey to Ayodhya from Lanka, when the Pushpak Vimana entered the southern part of Kerala, Lakshman thought of pushing his brother to the sea and escaping with Sita. In other words, he implied that Lakshmana lusted after Devi Sita.
18) When speaking of Hindudvesh it is hard to leave out Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav. Following Swami Prasad Maurya’s Ramcharitmanas row, Yadav not only shielded him but also sacked SP panellists Roli Tiwari Mishra and Richa Singh from the party for opposing his diatribe against the Hindu Grantha. In 2021, Akhil Bhartiya Sant Samiti (AKSS) sought an apology from Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav for referring to saints as ‘chillumjeevi’ (those who smoke tobacco and cannabis in earthen pipes) and ‘ek rang wale’ (people of one particular colour).
19) AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) Chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has repeatedly bared his anti-Hindu fangs. Last year he mocked Hindus by denying the Kashmir Hindu genocide and terming the film The Kashmir Files a ‘jhoothi’ (false) film. He and other MLAs of his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were seen laughing, sneering, and derisively mocking the film.
Kejriwal’s role in the forced exodus of Hindu labourers from UP/Bihar during the pandemic is yet another instance showing his utter disregard for Hindus. That he deliberately plotted to drive the migrant labourers out of Delhi is evident from the sequence of events detailed by HinduPost earlier.
20) In October 2022, Congress leader and former Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil compared the Bhagavad Gita to the Quran and said that Bhagwan Krishna taught ‘jihad’ to Arjun.
Hinduphobic Nehru scions
Congress’ Hinduphobia starts from its topmost leaders. The Nehru family’s descendants undertake temple runs during election time to hoodwink Hindus. Even though senior Congress leaders keep harping about Rahul Gandhi being a ‘Janeudhari Brahmin’, Gandhi has never failed to display his Hindu hate.
During his Bharat Todo Yatra, a young boy was made to walk without a shirt in the winter cold and sporting the janeu the wrong way. On the one hand, Congress was attempting to project a Brahmin-friendly and pro-Hindu image and on the other, Gandhi insulted Brahmins by saying that Bharat is a land of Tapasvis and not Pujaris.
Even more appalling was his statement about Pandavas. He said Pandavas had supporters from all religions. “On one hand there were these five Tapasvis and on the other hand, there was a crowded organisation. With the Pandavas, there were people of all religions. Like this (Bharat Jodo) Yatra, nobody asks anyone from where he comes. It is a shop of love. The Pandavas had also stood against injustice, they too had opened a shop of love in the market of hate,” Gandhi said at a public rally in Kurukshetra. His statement makes one wonder which other religion was there during the times of the Pandavas.
During the course of his Yatra, he met and posed with George Ponnaiah, the Catholic priest who denigrated Bhumi Devi and mocked Hindus saying “they can’t even pluck a hair of Christians”.
Last April, he delivered the keynote address at the book launch of ‘The Dalit Truth: The Battles For Realizing Ambedkar’s Vision’ and needless to say his speech was nothing but a bunch of lies, half-truths, and of course Hindudvesh (Hindumisia). As is his wont Gandhi made numerous unsubstantiated claims while being cheered on by sycophants.
These are merely some instances when I.N.D.I. alliance members have bared their anti-Hindu fangs. Politicians like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar, Priyanka Vadra, Tejaswi Yadav, and others are known Hinduphobics even if some of them sing a different tune from time to time and even undertake temple runs during election times.
