Swami Prasad Maurya demeans Hindu Dharma again, calls those demanding Hindu Rashtra “enemies of the nation”

Hinduphobic Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Swami Prasad Maurya is known for making rabid anti-Hindu controversial statements to remain in the limelight. Recently, he said that those demanding a Hindu Rashtra are ‘enemies’ of the nation.

Maurya’s Hinduphobic statement

The Hinduphobic leader opined that it was not Jinnah but the Hindu Mahasabha that was responsible for the partition of Bharat while adding that people asking for Hindu Rashta are ‘enemies’ of Bharat. He was speaking at the Buddhist Sammelan in Banda’s JIC Maidan. “Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christians are brothers. If one talks of a Hindu Rashtra, then why would a Buddhist, Sikh, Jain, or Muslim not make similar demands?” he said.

Maurya also targeted the upcoming Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya by terming the inauguration of the temple a ‘drama’, thereby hurting the sentiments of Hindus who are eagerly looking forward to their Ramlalla returning home after centuries of struggle.

“A drama is going to start in January, and that drama is the Pran Pratishtan (consecration) of Ram Mandir. Why would one need to do Pran Pratishtan of one who has been prayed to for years, who is said to dwell in the hearts of millions of people, who is venerated by crores of devotees, and there are many who have faith in Bhagwan Ram and who do His Puja. How will you then do Pran Pratishtan in that diety? What is the need for this drama (natak) of Pran Pratishtan” said Maurya at the Banda Buddhist Sammelan.

It is futile to expect a Hinduphobe to understand the importance and significance of Pran Pratishta in vigraha pooja. Maurya would do well to not comment on things beyond his understanding, especially when they are made to score political brownie points and out of Hindudvesh.

History of anti-Hindu statements made by Maurya

Swami Prasad Maurya has a history of making Hinduphobic statements, the most recent ones being his tirade against Hindu Dharma and Ramcharitmanas. The SP leader called Hindu Dharma a ‘hoax’ in a video shared on social media (SM) platform X.

Here is are some of Maurya’s Hinduphobic statements:

The roots of Brahminism are very deep, and the reason for all disparity is also Brahminism itself. There is no religion called Hindu; Hinduism is just a deception. They have renamed “Brahminism” as the Hindu religion in this country. This is a conspiracy to trap the Dalits, Adivasis, and OBCs in the web of their religion,” labeling Hindu Dharma a ‘hoax,’ Maurya said in the video.

This April, he made an objectionable comment on Prabhu Sri Ram. In the video, Maurya can be heard saying — “Mile Mulayam Kanshi Ram…” and pauses for the crowd to complete the sentence saying, “…Hawa main ud gaye Jai Shri Ram” — a contentious political slogan that was coined in the early 1990s.

After Manusmriti, Ramcharitmanas has become the target of many politicians. Among them is Swami Prasad Maurya of the Samajwadi Party (SP). He was booked with ten others who burnt copies of the Hindu Grantha to ‘express solidarity’ with Maurya. ‘Discrimination against certain sections’ of society is used as a convenient excuse by politicians like Maurya to hide their Hindu hate. Not surprisingly, he received the backing of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav who instead sacked two party spokespersons for opposing Maurya’s diatribe against Ramcharitmanas.

Earlier this year, the SP leader sparked a major controversy after he demanded the deletion of “insulting comments and sarcasm” targeted at particular castes and sects in Ramcharitmanas. The SP leader said: “I don’t have any issue with Ramcharitramanas, but parts of it have insulting comments and sarcasm directed at particular castes and sects. Those should be removed”. He further claimed that in the Ramcharitmanas, some words hurt the sentiments of the Dalit community.

For far too long, Hindudveshi (Hinduphobic) politicians like Maurya have been getting away with making anti-Hindu statements and repeatedly attacking Hindu beliefs, Granthas, and practices. The Hindu ‘tolerance’ has been taken undue advantage of because these leaders know they would pay no political price for the same. It is high time Hindu voters send out the message loud and clear that Hindudvesh is neither acceptable nor will be tolerated.
