“Aurangzeb was cruel but not a Hindu hater” says NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad

NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) leader Jitendra Awhad, notorious for minority appeasement and hooliganism against those who oppose him, came up with a new secular gem. He opined that Aurangzeb was not a Hindu hater even though he was cruel. Awhad was defending his party colleague Ajit Pawar who had said that Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was not a Dharamveer.

“He (Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj) was brought to Bahadurgad where his eyes were removed. Close to Bahadurgad Fort, there was a Vishnu Temple. Aurangzeb was cruel but not anti-Hindu. If he was anti-Hindu he would have demolished that temple too (Vishnu Temple),” Awhad said addressing a press conference on January 2, 2022, notes The Organiser.

He further said that in earlier times Maratha was not a caste but a ‘Dharma that was followed’. While stating that regular historical references should be avoided, he opined Aurangzeb murdered his father and brothers and was cruel.

“NCP is insulting Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and praising Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb destroyed many temples in Maharashtra and tortured women,” said Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

MLA Nitesh Rane posted a reply letter to Awhad. Rane pointed out how both Sharad and Ajit Pawar don’t find Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Dharamveer even though Maharaj sacrificed his life for Hindu Dharma. Rane attached a list of Hindu temples destroyed by Aurangzeb. NCP leaders Awhad, Pawar, and other ‘seculars’ leave no opportunity to whitewash crimes of Islamists such as Mughals and Khiljis among others.

Aurangzeb was a personification of Hindudvesh (Hindu hate). Awhad’s statement reminds us of Lucknow University Professor Ravi Kant Chandan who used a fictional story to whitewash Aurangzeb.

Fake and baseless stories are often peddled by the anti-Hindu cabal to whitewash Islamic fanatics like Aurangzeb. Contemporary Islamic records are ample proof of the bigotry of Islamic rulers which are conveniently ignored by the cabal who have deep-rooted Hindumisia.

The Maasir-i-Alamgiri clearly states that Aurangzeb Hindu Brahmins of Benares teach their ‘false books’ in the universities which has an impact on Muslims as well. The emperor wanted the spread of Islam alone and therefore he ordered his subedars to destroy the universities and temples. He also banned the puja and education of the Hindus.

Awhad

Historian GB Mehandale details the brutal Islamic rule in his talk and says:

Mughals from Babur to Aurangzeb have indulged in razing temples and gurudwaras as recorded by their chroniclers, biographies and even these rulers themselves have recorded these destructions in their autobiographies.

At times they razed a lone temple and at others, they indulged in mass destruction. Maasir-I-Alamgiri states that between March 1679 and August 1680, more than 300 temples were felled by Aurangzeb. Official Mughal records show that in January 1705 Aurangzeb issued orders to destroy the Pandharpur Vittal Mandir and slaughter cows on the holy temple premises.

Aurangzeb sacked Mathura in 1670 and not only destroyed the existing Keshavdeva Temple but also sponsored the construction of the Shahi Eidgah in its place. Evidence on record clearly shows that Aurangzeb destroyed thousands of Hindu temples and never rebuilt any. Despite such overwhelming evidence pseudo-secular politicians, activists, distortians and Bollywood want us to believe that Islamist bigots were ‘nation builders’ but even ‘secular’ sources attest to Aurangzeb’s Hindu hate.

Maybe Awhad and Pawar could do with some proper and actual history lessons but then again when propaganda and appeasement are the motives, no amount of facts would remove the tinted glasses they are wearing to make them see the truth.
