DMK MP Senthilkumar spews venom against Hindu Dharma in DK’s Salem conference – our ‘secular’ Republic has mainstreamed this Hindu-hatred

Hindu Dharma and Hindus are the easiest and softest targets for pseudo-secular politicians, judiciary, activists and other assorted Hinduphobic groups. Every other day ill-informed speeches and venomous views are spewed at Hindus taking their tolerance for granted.

DMK MP Senthilkumar’s anti-Hindu venom

DMK MP Senthilkumar was speaking (archived tweet) at Dravida Kazhagam (DK), a certified anti-Hindu organization and the parent body of the Dravidian parties, Salem conference. On this occasion, Senthilkumar constantly attacked Bhagwan Krishna and Prabhu Sri Ram as well as made propagandistic statements against the Mahabharat and Ramayana under the garb of rationality. He uses all of these arguments to extort people to teach ‘rationalism’ to their children.

Not surprisingly, Senthilkumar made the usual ‘Krishna was an eve teaser’ jibe. Calling Bhagwan a ‘molester’, the DMK MP remarked “I can cite two or three examples from our epics. While some women are taking a bath in a lake they have placed their clothes nearby its shore. While they were bathing, someone went to that place, took all those clothes to a nearby tree, and sat on top of the tree enjoying those girls taking a bath. He refused to part with their clothes. Will anyone raise their boy that way? If something like this happens in the present day what do we say? They say Krishna Paramatma came and did this”.

He also talks about gambling in Mahabharat where Draupadi was wagered away. He uses this as an argument to say that women were treated as slaves. Furthermore, he says women had no freedom by stating that Draupadi was married off to five men. “We don’t know what sort of mindset prevailed among these people. Without her concurrence, the woman was used in gambling. We banned online gambling after a lot of struggle. Before it was banned the governor said it was a game of skill. Here five men gambled using their wife, what kind of skill is this”, the Hindudveshi (Hinduphobic) MP states.

The MP then goes on to add that Krishna Bhagwan comes and asks people to take away clothes which would be considered eve teasing and He would be put in jail in the present environment. Talking about Ramayana, he says while Prabhu Ram had to construct a bridge to rescue Maa Sita, Ravan did not have to build one to carry Her away. He cites this as an example to show that Ravan was ‘stronger’ than Prabhu Ram. He also adds that the bridge built by Sri Ram is ‘obstructing’ the Setu Samudram project.

The DMK MP has repeatedly displayed his Hindu hatred. In July 2022, Lok Sabha MP and DMK leader Senthilkumar ranted against Bhumi Puja for a renovation project under the Prime Minister Krishi Sinchayee Yojana scheme organised by the Public Welfare Department. He had demanded that a Christian padre, an Imam and atheists be present in the event to maintain ‘secularism’. He even abused the Brahmin pujari. In December 2022, he tweeted against Bhumi Puja being performed on the land given by a Shaivite math for building a new bus station.

Rebuttal to Senthilkumar

Quora user Satyarth Routroy explains that those with absolutely no understanding of Hindu Dharma and Sri Krishna’s leelas and deeds are quick to label Him an ‘eve teaser’. The very first thing to know is that Sri Krishna left Gokul when he was 11 years and 52 days. Hindu belief states that he never returned to Vrindavan and Gokul.

“A kid playing around among girls and ladies before attaining puberty can’t be termed as something sexual. After all, those days were different from the 21st century when parents have to buy special ‘anti-viruses’ and ‘internet security software’ to stop children from watching harmful sites. Raas dance form was popular among the Gokul community. A small naughty kid dancing and playing around among the girls elder than him and women who are of his mother’s age (most of them seeing him since his newborn days) and the women cuddling him and loving him- does that sound like something immoral and pervert or just a playful bliss?”, Satyarth writes.

Satyarth has also highlighted that Sri Krishna played pranks on not just women but everybody irrespective of age and gender. There are numerous accounts stating He hid the dhotis of his friends. Labelling an 11-year-old an ‘eve teaser’ shows the mental depravity of those who are used to seeing things from the physical and sexual point of view. For those who idolize a man who married his own daughter, understanding bhakti would be difficult.

According to Swami Vivekananda, Raas Leela was a medium used by Bhagwan Krishna to prove the connection between souls and that Sri Krishna’s flute-playing helped gopis reach a state of trance. Thus, in this moment of complete surrender they could, to borrow a modern metaphor, be one with the Force.

Complete surrender, an important form of devotion, is only possible when an individual casts off all worldly ties and bonds, anything that binds one to the mundane physical worlds. “Legend had it that the gopis were sadhus who had achieved great penance in their previous lives to be born into such an exalted position to take part in Raas Leela…On the other hand, Bhushan’s crass analogy only reiterates that he neither understands the concept of consent nor is he familiar with Hindu mythology”, notes an article in DNA.

Also, these Hinduphobes would do well to remember that Bhagwan Krishna saved 16000 women from Narakasur, saved Draupadi from humiliation, and gave importance to His sister Subhadra’s wish to marry Arjun. Those who view Hindu Dharma through the Abrahamic lens and use the experience and lives of their leaders to look at bhakti and other aspects of Hindu Dharma would not be able to go beyond the physical and sexual aspects.

The blindfolded unidirectional vision is the reason why people like Senthilkumar would not be able to fathom the reason for Hindus adoring Prabhu Ram. Senthilkumar believes that Ravan was stronger than Prabhu Ram because the former did not require a bridge to cross the sea. An MP of a Brahmin-bashing party eulogizing Ravan is hilarious, to say the least.

This brings us to the Hindu concept of an avatar – Shri Krishna was a Purna Avatar where He used all His powers but Prabhu Ram was limited by human birth. Shri Ram walked the earth to show humans the ideal way to lead one’s life. As far as Draupadi being wagered is concerned, it must be mentioned that Yudhishthir had wagered himself and his brothers first. That in itself is not a justification but proves that the DMK MP’s claim of women being treated as slaves is not true.

Hinduphobia on the rise

Politicians who claim to be rational, atheist, and secular are Hinduphobes without exception. Recently, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Swami Prasad Maurya said that Ramcharitmanas contained insulting comments targeted at particular castes and sects. Bihar Education Minister RJD MLA Chandrashekhar Yadav opined that Ramcharitmanas spreads ‘hatred’ at the same time he said that Islam was the only religion giving the message of love and honesty.

In a tweet (subsequently deleted) that inadvertently reveals the Hinduphobic mindset of the garden-variety left-liberal that breeds in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi, senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan called Bhagwan Krishna a ‘legendary eve-teaser’. Bhushan’s tweet tells us about the perversion of the liberal mind, indoctrinated by Abrahamics, wherein Sri Krishna’s playful and consensual behaviour with gopis is equated to stalking, humiliation and predatory sexual targeting.

Leftist Hinduphobic author KS Bhagawan from Karnataka, who received protection from the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government, demeaned Bhagwan Ram by calling Him a ‘drunkard’. What started with ill-informed and selective targeting of Manusmriti, has now descended into slandering and distortion of Hindu Granthas such as Ramcharitmanas, Vedas, and Gita among others.

Our apex court has refused to act against blatant anti-Hindu bigotry, but gives priority hearings to even seemingly fabricated stories of ‘hate crimes’ against so-called minorities. When a Hindu man approached SC with a petition against a Malayalam novel that denigrated Hindu girls visiting temples as sex objects and nymphomaniacs (incidentally, that novel was awarded Kerala’s highest literary award by the Pinarayi regime), the SC bench that included then CJI Dipak Misra and Justice DY Chandrachud dismissed the plea citing ‘freedom of expression’. This is what Chandrachud had to say, “You are giving undue importance to this kind of stuff. In the age of the Internet, you are making this an issue. It is best forgotten.”

Clearly, the anti-Hindu secular republic of ‘Hindu majority’ Bharat has sanctioned and fueled this Hinduphobia, overtly or covertly.

Dravidians never lose an opportunity to display their hatred, rather contempt, for Hindu deities. It is hard to fathom such dog-whistling where they put out imaginary stories such as Prabhu Shri Ram being ‘son of a horse’.

Misogyny in the Bible & other Abrahamic faiths

Here are some points (source) for Senthilkumar so that he can give lessons on ‘rationality’ to Christians, after all a ‘champion’ of women’s rights would be concerned about women of all religions:

1) To the woman, he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain, you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.” – Genesis 3:16

2) I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet – Timothy 2:12

3) Women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church – Corinthians 14:34-35

4) And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man – Genesis 2:22

This is but the tip of the iceberg, there are numerous instances in the Bible where women are treated as slaves. Senthilkumar would certainly want to know the mindset of such Christians too. The less said about misogyny in Islam, the better it would be, lest the likes of ‘journalist’ Md Zubair whip ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ mobs into a frenzy and then judiciary comes to his aid and berates ordinary Hindus for ‘hate speech’.

Well, it is quite well-known that ‘rationalism’ is only a mask to hide their contempt for Hindu Dharma. If they were really bothered about women’s rights and plight, they would have pointed out the misogyny deeply embedded in Abrahamic faiths. But when propaganda is the motive, rationality goes for a toss.

Most importantly, a Hinduphobe like Senthikumar (and others of his ilk) has no business projecting their irrational illogical ideas on Hindu Dharma. If Dravidian organizations are so bothered about teaching rationalism, then they should talk about all faiths in the equal breath. If you overlook the ills of Abrahamic faiths because you fear for your head, then leave Hindu Dharma to us practising Hindus.

A Dravidianist who does not even consider himself a Hindu has no business meddling in matters of Dharma. The Hindu society has given a very long rope to these rogue Hinduphobic elements that have emboldened them to spew venom only against Hindus constantly. Hindu tolerance is simply being taken for granted.
