UPI processes record 7.3 bn transactions in October

0

The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform processed 7.3 billion transactions in the month of October, a record high as India witnessed a bumper festive season.

According to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), UPI processed 7.3 billion transactions worth Rs 12.11 trillion in October.

The volume was up 73 per cent while the value of transactions was up 57 per cent (year-over-year).

“UPI has been a game changer in real-time payments and is the most preferred choice of payment. UPI platform recorded 6.8 billion transactions in September 2022 and the festive month gave further boost with transactions reaching 7.3 billion in October,” said Sanjeev Chandak, Co-founder and CEO of fintech platform ftcash.

“Digitisation is enabling India to become a cashless economy and the surge in UPI transactions mirrors this upward trajectory towards digitisation,” he added.

Launched in 2016, UPI crossed 1 billion transactions in October 2019.

In FY23 to date, the UPI has processed 44.32 billion transactions worth Rs 75 trillion.

Nearly 76 per cent Indians now prefer using UPI (unified payments interface) during online checkouts while more millennials (84 per cent) are now using UPI when shopping online, a report showed on Tuesday.

As the physical, digital and virtual worlds are converging, Indians are willing to explore and purchase within apps/browsers as well from the social media platforms, according to new research from financial services technology provider FIS.

Kerala policeman leads Islamist mob attack on Tamil families for celebrating Deepawali

An Islamist mob led by a local policeman went on a rampage near Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam district on Deepawali day. The attackers targeted Tamil families in an area infested with radical Islamists. The alleged ‘crime’ was that they burst crackers to celebrate Deepawali! Still, the incident barely made news in so-called secular Kerala.

The attack on Hindu families occurred around 8.30 p.m. on October 24 near the Muvattupuzha market. Attackers armed with weapons led by one Rafeeq broke into the homes of members of the Tamil community. The criminals beat up family members, including women and children. Rafeeq is a police official attached to the armed reserve police.

Rafeeq and his gang severely attacked Thankapandyan, his wife, his parents, PT Pandyan, Meena, and their neighbor Bhaskaran. The kids, aged five and seven, were shoved to the ground. Bhaskaran sustained an injury below his eye after being struck with a sharp weapon.

Thankapandyan alleged that the attackers attempted to snatch a woman’s gold chain and Mangalsutra. The helpless victims were cooking Deepawali sweets, and the attackers smashed their utensils and stoves. Allegedly, Rafeeq was furious since the Hindu families in the locality burst crackers for Deepawali!

The Pandyans have lived in the market area for several decades. The family earns a living cooking and selling snacks in the vicinity. Following the attack, the helpless victims complained to the police against Rafeeq and three other radical Islamists. All the victims sustained injuries and had to be hospitalized on Deepawali day.

After the incident became public, some Muslims led by local political leaders arrived and tried to settle the case through a ‘compromise.’ They offered the Tamil victims some money, but that did not go down well with other Tamilians living there. Allegedly, Kerala police refused to register the case initially. These ‘middlemen’ escaped by the time senior police officials arrived.

Local Hindus saw the incident as a classic example of religious fundamentalism and the rise of Talibanization among Kerala police officers. Hindu Dharma is under threat, and our centuries-old traditions and rituals are being crushed. Recent developments show hundreds of radical Islamist terrorists have infiltrated Kerala police.

Suspiciously, most of them are from the reserve police. These reserve police are rarely seen or used except to attack Hindus or our temples and institutions. There is a clear plan behind the force that was incidentally inducted to prevent further Hindu genocide following the so-called Malabar Moplah riots. It was a para-military force consisting of only Hindus. Little wonder that radical Islamists have infiltrated such special police units.

An organization called Tamilian Collective objected to the atrocities against the Tamil Hindus at the hands of an Islamist Kerala police official. They submitted complaints before the Muvattupuzha police and the Tamil Nadu chief minister. It has been over one week since the incident, and local police are yet to arrest the attackers.

Recently, a Tamil lady named Padma (52) from the Dharmapuri district came to Kerala to sell lottery tickets due to poverty and became a victim of human sacrifice. She was killed by serial killer Mohammed Shafi who also consumed her flesh. Shafi lured and killed vulnerable women as part of his black magic rituals.

Today, Kerala is a haven for Islamic and Christian fundamentalists. They have all sorts of blessings from both the ruling CPM-led Left Democratic Front and the Opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, too, has a indicated a soft corner for radical Islamists and evangelists as such an attitude seems to be an integral part of the anti-Hindu Dravidian /Periyarist ideology his party stands for.

3 LeT terrorists killed in Pulwama encounter, one terrorist in Anantnag

0

Three LeT terrorists, including a commander, were killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday, as they were on their way to attack a security force camp, police said.

“Three terrorists killed in Awantipora encounter. Identification being ascertained. As per our source, one is Foreign Terrorist and one local terrorist of LeT namely Mukhtiyar Bhat, involved in several terror crimes including killing of one ASI of CRPF and two RPF personnel. A big success for us,” tweeted Jammu and Kashmir Police, quoting Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar.

In another tweet, the police said that as per sources, Bhat, along with a foreign terrorist, was going for fidayeen attack on a security forces camp. An AK-74 rifle, an AK-56 rifle, and one pistol was recovered from the spot.

“Awantipora police and Army averted a major terror incident,” it quoted Vijay Kumar as saying.

The firefight started after a joint team of police and security forces got an input about the presence of terrorists in that area.

After security forces cordoned off the area, terrorists hiding there started firing drawing retaliation by the security forces.

This is the second encounter in Kashmir on a single day. Earlier on Tuesday, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces at Semthan Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in which one terrorist was killed.

Bharat’s opportunity in global crisis

0
business

It is not far from truth to say that global economy is facing a troubled time. “The global economy, still reeling from the pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, is facing an increasingly gloomy and uncertain outlook,” said the IMF’s economic counsellor, Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas.

“Higher than expected inflation, especially in the United States and major European economies, is triggering a tightening of global financial conditions. China’s slowdown has been worse than anticipated amid Covid-19 outbreaks and lockdowns, and there have been further negative spill overs from the war in Ukraine.”

Experts in IMF apprehend the following unpleasant developments.

  • Stoppage of European gas flows from Russia as a result of the war in Ukraine disrupting the energy sources.  Europe’s increased dependence on Russian energy from 25% of total gas demand in 2009 to 32% in 2021 has only added to the problem.
  • High inflation.
  • A debt crisis triggered by tighter global financial conditions.
  • Further Covid-19 outbreaks and lockdowns in China.
  • Social unrest triggered by rising food and energy prices.
  • Trade wars and geopolitical fragmentation.

Despite the global slowdown, inflation has been moving upwards, mostly due to disruption in the supply chains during Covid and rising food and energy prices triggered by Ukraine-Russia war. Inflation is expected to reach 6.6 per cent in advanced economies and 9.5 per cent in emerging market and developing economies and projected to remain elevated for longer period.

Global Monetary Policy Tracker published by The Council on Foreign Relations in its August, 2022 edition indicates tightening policies by most of the 54 central banks that are part of this tracker. Current inflation levels represent a clear risk to macroeconomic stability, according to the update on world economic outlook (WEO) of IMF.

World Bank says global economy is now heading towards the sharpest recession since the 1970s. Monetary and fiscal policies in advanced economies — including continued interest rate hikes — could push the world toward a global recession and stagnation, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) said.

A global slowdown could potentially inflict worse damage than the financial crisis in 2008 and the Covid-19 shock in 2020, warned the UNCTAD in its Trade and Development Report 2022. “Interest rate hikes by advanced economies are hitting the most vulnerable hardest. Some 90 developing countries have seen their currencies weaken against the dollar this year,” the report says.

East and Southeast Asia are set to post growth rates below those in the five years prior to the pandemic. UNCTAD expects East Asia to grow at 3.3% this year, compared to 6.5% last year.

“Under current supply-chain challenges and rising uncertainty, where monetary policy alone cannot safely lower inflation, pragmatism will need to replace ideological conformity in guiding the next policy moves.” Rightly says UNCTAD.

More public investment in economic and social infrastructure to boost employment, raise productivity, improve energy efficiency, and reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, are some of the measures suggested by UNCTAD.

“Today we need to warn that we may be on the edge of a policy-induced global recession,”  Secretary-General of UNCTAD Rebeca Grynspan said in a statement.

To contain the spiralling inflation which rose to more than 9% US Federal Reserve has been increasing the interest rates at quite frequent intervals in the recent past. This is not only resulting in flight of capital from other countries to US but also leading to exchange rate volatility and weakening the currencies of other countries. It is estimated that RBI has spent more than $ 100 bn of its forex reserves to protect the rupee which has fallen about 12 percent against the dollar this year. Going by the macro-economic trends in US it is expected that US Federal Reserve is likely to continue its stance of increasing the interest rates in the short term to tame the inflation.

Since Bharat is experiencing rising inflation caused by supply side disruptions during Covid and weakening of rupee primarily due to US hiking its interest rates, increasing the interest rates, and spending the forex reserves to protect the declining rupee may only prove to be counterproductive in the medium term. In other words, this may result in killing the revival of the economy and further depletion of the forex reserves, respectively.

Bharat’s merchandise exports reached a record high of US$417.81 billion during FY 2021-22, surpassing the government’s target of US$400 billion. The export growth was mainly driven by a surge in demand for products like petroleum, cotton yarn, textiles, chemicals, and engineering goods. At the same time, Bharatiya goods imports also surged at US$610.22 billion, mainly driven by increase in imports of crude, coal, gold, and electronics.

In the current scenario, import substitution should be the strategy to be adopted by the Bharatiya policy makers. According to official data top 10 major commodity groups constitute 75% of total imports in January, 2022. The list includes petroleum & crude products, electronic goods, Gold, machinery, organic and inorganic chemicals, pearls & precious stones, coal, coke, plastic materials, vegetable oils, and non-ferrous metals.

Petroleum & crude products, gold, pearls & precious stones apart from domestic consumption also get converted into value added exports. However, electronic goods, machinery and coal nearly constitute 28.5% of our imports as per the January, 2022 data. Bharatiya government should adopt a focused and strategic approach of import substitution regarding electronic goods, machinery, and coal.

The government should review its National Policy on Electronics, 2019, to propel the growth of Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and step up the initiatives on a large scale under “Make in India” and “Digital India” programmes, by identifying and removing the bottlenecks.

The National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council should formulate a policy and concrete plan of action in consultations with industry, Academicia and Government to boost the domestic manufacturing of capital goods (machinery). Bharat ranks 3rd in renewable energy country attractive index in 2021 and 3rd largest energy consuming country in the world.

The country has set an ambitious target to achieve a capacity of 175 GW worth of renewable energy by the end of 2022, which expands to 500 GW by 2030. This is the world’s largest expansion plan in renewable energy which will eventually reduce the country’s excessive dependence on fossil fuel (oil and coal).

The focused strategy of import substitution discussed above in this article will enable the country to substantially reduce its imports in electronic goods, machinery, and coal in addition to generating more jobs. This will have multiple advantages of GDP growth, reducing the level of unemployment as well as imports.

Let us hope the policy makers would give a serious thought to this and take swift measures in this regard to create an opportunity out of crisis.

MP: Hindu outfits protest against Christian school’s anti-cracker propaganda

Hindu organisations protested against a Christian school in Madhya Pradesh by bursting fire crackers. The school had conducted a rally and its students performed a street play advocating against crackers in the name of environmental activism.

St Joseph’s Convent School in Khandwa, MP had organised a rally and street play on October 21. It reportedly had the message of avoiding crackers on Deepavali as they cause pollution. Hindu organisations objected to this demonising of Hindu practices and staged a protest in front of the school on October 25. They peacefully protested by bursting crackers in front of the school.

While the school authorities say that they only asked people to celebrate Deepavali in a safe way, Hindu organisations accuse them of asking people to not burst crackers through their events. BJP had opposed the rally and street play organised in Tiraha Municipal Corporation. BJP leaders had an argument with the school authorities as the children appealed to not burst fire crackers on Deepavali.

In protest Hindu organisations burst a lot of firecrackers in front of the school and warned the latter against repeating such Hinduphobic acts in the future. St Joseph’s Convent School comes under the Khandwa diocese. The diocese had earlier come under fire for trying to convert tribal children. A few weeks ago Deepavali Hindu organisations stopped a vehicle carrying tribal children from nearby villages to a Christian school run by the diocese.

They alleged that the children were being taken to be converted. The school claimed that the children were brought to attend some yearly convention. Hindu outfits complained that they didn’t have permission to conduct the event and should be booked for violating rules. The school claimed that all children were Catholics but accepted that they didn’t get permission from the district administration to conduct the event.

Christian schools were the first to initiate propaganda against bursting firecrackers on the pretext of protecting the environment which was gradually picked up even by Hindu schools. It went mainstream after vested interests actively started campaigning against crackers. In 2017, Servite Matriculation School, a Christian school in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, had punished children for bursting firecrackers on Deepavali.

The school had made children undertake an oath that they wouldn’t burst crackers on Deepavali and upon returning after holidays they were inquired about whether they followed it. Those who celebrated Deepavali without bursting crackers were lauded and those who didn’t follow the oath were asked to apologise to nature. Such tactics have made many children give up the joy of bursting crackers on their own.

TN police intel head Davidson has links with Christian missionary groups and working for promoting one religion, BJP leader Annamalai says

0

In an interview to senior journalist Rangaraj Pandey, Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai alleged that Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Davidson Devasirvatham has close links with Christian Missionary groups and is working with an agenda of promoting a particular religion in the southern part of the state.

Annamalai said that after the DMK government came to power, an agenda has been given to fill posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police and above ranks with a particular community.

“The chief of the intelligence department, ADGP, who goes by the name you mentioned.. he has got a single point agenda to promote something in south Tamil Nadu. He clearly has links with missionary groups. He wants such officers in sensitive posts and is handpicking them. They are the ones being placed in power. Be it the Thanjavur Lavanya suicide, or the incident exposed by CNN News 18 where Bible was distributed to children in schools, all of this is an operation run by the Tamil Nadu [police] intelligence department. I am making an open observation. Let them deny it.” Annamalai said.

When asked if such statements won’t cause divisive mindset among the police force, he said that no Christian will take it wrongly when missionary activities are called out.

“If someone sitting in power works for promoting one’s own religion keeping that as the single point agenda, and is adamant about it, then it is problematic and I am going to call them out openly. I have no fear.”, the BJP Tamil Nadu chief said.

He also cited the ‘Fake Passport Scam’ in which over 200 passports are believed to have been issued from Madurai to ineligible persons during Davidson Devasirvatham’s stint as the city’s Police Commissioner.

“The High Court may have given the judgement but he cannot escape for a long time. Out of the passports issued, what is the percentage of Christian applicants? You should do a special story. If you want, I will give you the data. Is it not more than 74%?”, he said.

“Who ran the passport agency? Whose wife ran the private passport agency in Chennai? After the issue broke out, who closed that agency? Whose wife is that? Let the media find out. Why should Annamalai reveal all the information? Ask which IPS officer’s wife was that.” Annamalai said implying that it was Davidson’s wife.

Annamalai also accused Davidson Devasirvatham of destroying evidence when he was the Madurai Police Commissioner.

He also called the recent Coimbatore Blasts as a failure of state intelligence and accused the DMK government of indulging in minority appeasement politics by not calling it a terror attack despite prima facie evidence pointing towards the same.

The ED had recently filed a charge sheet before a Special Ranchi court against Pankaj Mishra, a close aide of Soren, and Bachhu Yadav and Prem Prakash who are also said to be close to the Jharkhand CM.

The ED has also written a letter to Jharkhand Police Commissioner to make appropriate security arrangements ahead of his questioning.

The court has already taken the cognizance of the charge sheet.

Racial attacks on non-tribals in the name of anti-unemployment rally in Meghalaya

0

After a long period of calm, attempts are being made to once again destabilise the North East region of Bharat. Recent attacks on non-tribals in the name of anti-unemployment marches and racial verbal attacks on non-tribals on other issues do not augur well. Videos of attacks on non-tribals and migrants during a rally organised by the Federation of Khasi-Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) in Shillong, Meghalaya, have sparked social media and public outrage.

The Federation of Khasi-Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) organised an ‘anti-unemployment rally’ in Shillong, Meghalaya on Friday, October 28. The rally participants suddenly started violent attacks on non-tribals while circling the city. The FKJGP attackers then checked the number plates of vehicles on the road and started attacking vehicles from outside Meghalaya on sight.

The video of their attack clearly shows that the non-tribal population is the primary target of this attack. This racial attack is not the first time. In 1979, about 20,000 Bengalis were displaced following attacks by the Khasis. Xenophobic racial attacks were reported from Meghalaya even during anti-CAA protests in 2020. Last year, two students from Kerala interning with a Shillong-based NGO were attacked and before that, 5 non-tribal youth playing basketball were suddenly assaulted with rods and sticks.

The UK/Scottish Presbyterian Church is suspected of playing a key role in fomenting anti-Hindu hatred in this Christian tribal-state where over 86% of population belongs to Scheduled Tribes (STs) and 74% are Christian as per Census 2011.

In one of the videos, an injured tempo driver, visibly non-tribal, was seen lying sprawled on the road after purportedly being beaten up. According to a news report in the Shillong Times, a local reporter, U Mawphor, was assaulted for recording videos of the attacks.

In one video, a riot-gear clad policeman was seen walking along with the rally but did nothing to stop an attack on an innocent motorist.

Screengrab from viral video showing policeman in riot-gear walking alongside the rallyists but he did nothing to prevent an attack on an innocent motorist just few feet behind him

Since the attack, the non-tribal population of Meghalaya and the neighbouring state of Assam have simultaneously expressed anger and fears that various groups are once again trying to destabilise the region. On the other hand, apart from physical attacks, another so-called tribal organisation has started hateful racial attacks against non-tribals.

Incidentally, an advertisement titled “Cherapunji Ki Diwali” was released by Netflix before Kali Puja. In protesting against the advertisement, an organisation called KSU termed Bengalis the ‘scumbags of the British’.

In Silchar, Assam, the Hindu Chhatra Sangha protested against the serial attacks by FKJGP and KSU (Khasi Students’ Union) in Meghalaya. On Sunday morning, members of the Hindu Chhatra Sangh staged a protest at the foot of Khudiram Bose’s statue on Club Road in Silchar.

Protest of Hindu Chhatra Sangha.

The protest was called against the recent incidents of violence in Shillong by FKJGP members and KSU’s statement against the recently released ‘Cherrapunji Ki Diwali’ ad, in which they defamed the Bengali community.

Hindu Chhatra Sangha’s Letter to the Home Minister Amit Shah.

While elaborating on the issue, the Hindu Chhatra Sangh representative Subhash Choudhury said, “The incident in Shillong, where FKJGP members attacked innocent people, non-tribals being the primary target, in the name of their rally against unemployment, is not a sudden unfortunate incident but a continuation of a series of unfortunate incidents, contributed by several different organisations from time to time. The Meghalaya government has failed over the last many months and years to control such hooligans and uncivilised mobs, and they have developed the courage to mob lynch anyone due to such administrative failures alone. It is time that the AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act), which was lifted from Meghalaya in 2018, is implemented again. Terrorists marching with guns on the roads of Shillong is not a very old incident. The government is either unwilling or not capable enough to act against the anti-social elements there. Only the implementation of AFSPA can fix such lawlessness in the state of Meghalaya.”

Commenting on the statement by KSU, where they stated the Bengali community as ‘Chamchas of British’, to protest against the Netflix ad “Cherrapunji ki Diwali”, Subhash said, “The community that has sacrificed the most number of lives and blood for the freedom movement in Bharat is being called ‘Chamchas’ of British. This does nothing but symbolise the lack of education and knowledge among the top brass of the KSU, who essentially lack the sense to state or argue on any logical ground but just propagate plain hatred. “

The recent spate of attacks on non-tribals, especially Bengalis, in Meghalaya and its adjoining areas brings back memories of the seventies. The Meghalaya government’s silent role against the perceived racial attacks by the local non-tribal communities not only points to their support but also points to the reactivation of separatist groups, creating a destabilising environment in the North East region.

Chidambaram temple pujaris allege police harassment of children & women at the behest of DMK government

As the HRCE department couldn’t find any irregularities in the administration of Chidambaram Nataraja temple, the DMK government has unleashed police force on the pujaris allegedly based on fake complaints of child marriage. The affected families have alleged that their children are being harassed and medical tests are performed on them, violating the child rights body’s guidelines.

Dravidian organisations have been eyeing Chidambaram Nataraja temple and calls to take over the temple were made even before DMK assumed power. Since the DMK government was sworn in Dravidianists have been trying to find one reason or another to harass Podhu Dikshitars, who are the hereditary pujaris of the temple. First, HRCE made corruption and mismanagement allegations against the Dikshitars and officials entered the temple by force for inspection.

When Dikshitars asked them to show the complaints they received which prompted the inspection, they didn’t have anything to show. Later HRCE announced that anyone can come forward to file complaints about corruption and mismanagement in the temple and gave 2 days. Media hyped this announcement and claimed that thousands of complaints were received. But no action has been taken on those complaints so far.

HRCE officials entered the temple and inspected the accounts and other things, but couldn’t find anything worth filing a case. Then came the allegations that Chidambaram Dikshitars are conducting child marriages. Makkal Adhikaram, an urban naxal NGO filed a complaint in the Chidambaram police station in this regard.

Eswara Dikshitar, one of the pujaris at the temple, told TNIE that a couple of Dikshitars who had a fall out with others gave a list of alleged child marriages to the Social Welfare Department and Makkal Adhikaram. They gave it to the police and filed a complaint based on the list and 8 families of Dikshitars have been arrested so far. But Dikshitars say that they had planned to conduct their children’s marriages only after they attained the age as per law.

They allege that police are pressuring the families of the girls to give “non-existent photos of the wedding”. They have written to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), accusing that their daughters are subjected to extreme medical tests and clinical examinations. The children are losing mental peace as a result of the investigations, they say. They have also accused the police of harassing their womenfolk by making them stay at the police station at ungodly hours.

Other Dikshitars staged a peaceful protest condemning the harassment and were manhandled and arrested by the police. Those who weren’t arrested during the protest went to the court seeking protection from arrest, which was granted and extended for two more weeks till November 14. While they protested against arresting Dikshitars out of the blue without providing any reason, media twisted it as Dikshitars coming together in support of child marriage.

BBC Tamil reported that since June 2022 Social Welfare Department received information about 4 child marriages conducted by Chidambaram Dikshitars. 2 of the incidents were from 2021 and one involved the chief of the Chidambaram temple management committee. The media had a field day whenever Dikshitars were arrested. So it is curious that in such a high-profile case no solid evidence to prove that child marriages did happen hasn’t come out yet. It is notable that in high-profile sexual harassment cases, even if the victims are underage, the media releases evidence such as photos, screenshots of chats, etc to shame the perpetrators.

Makkal Adhikaram, the NGO involved in the issue is a rabid anti-Hindu, anti-Brahmin naxal organisation. Raji, a lawyer who filed complaint about child marriage on behalf of Makkal Adhikaram, gloated that Dikshitars were dragged by their tufts. In another issue of allowing people to climb a platform in front of the garbhagriha, Dikshitars stood steadfast that the government shouldn’t have any business poking into temple affairs.

But HRCE passed an order allowing people to climb the platform and police entered the temple by force to implement it. Makkal Adhikaram members were part of the crowd that wanted to forcibly enter. Describing this incident, Raji said, “The commando force entered. But they(Brahmins) had applied oil on their bodies. So when police tried to grab them they kept slipping away. It was like a battlefield. In the end only after getting hold of their tufts, did the policemen throw them out”. These are the kind of people filing complaints based on which Dikshitars are harassed.

The DMK government has been trying to find fault with Dikshitars’ administration from the day it was sworn in and staging incidents to trump up charges against them. The HRCE minister openly said that they were looking into possibilities and legal process of taking over the Chidambaram temple and that the CM is personally involved in this.

They tried to instigate Dikshitars against each other by making one of them, a disgruntled pujari, file a complaint against the administrative committee. Next, they filed a complaint under the SC, ST Atrocities Act with the help of another disgruntled Dikshitar by staging an incident where a woman tried to break the rules. DMK government is hell bent on taking over the temple and personal affairs like child marriage are blamed upon the whole community to wrench the temple from their hands.
