As Bharat and the world condemned the Durga Temple demolition in Dhaka’s Khilkhet area, the Muhammad Yunus-led government tries to fool the world by making false claims.
The interim government of Bangladesh claimed that the temple was razed along with numerous other unauthorised structures erected alongside railway tracks, but only after the idol was dismantled and submerged in a river nearby.

But, the claims made by the Bangladesh government are totally false and it’s an attempt to fool the world, says several Hindu activists who were present during the demolition.

Several Hindu activists informed that not only the Durga temple, several structures are present there for many. Besides a temple, a mosque, a Madrasa and numerous numbers of shops are there alongside the railway tracks. But, the administration only demolished the temple.
Hindu activists also highlighted the timing of the demolition. The administration didn’t take the decision itself. A day before the demolition, thousands of Islamists gheraoed the temple and demanded to demolish it. The Islamists also gave an ultimatum to the administration to remove the temple. The Islamists claimed that seeing Durga Murti is haram for them. They threatened that there will be no temple in a Muslim-majority area.

The Muhammad Yunus-led government bowed down to the Islamists and ordered to demolish the Hindu temple.
But, the interim government of Bangladesh made a false statement in front of the world, “ In the course of the eviction process, the idol of the makeshift mandap was immersed in the nearby Balu river, in due reverence, with the participation of the local Hindu community”. But, the statement is false. During the demolition drive, it can be clearly seen in several video which are available on social media, that during the demolition no such steps were taken. The temple was demolished and the idols were broken and thrown on the open ground.
