Sukma SP orders supervision of Christian missionary activities in tribal areas

0
pastor

Christian evangelical activities in tribal areas are set to come under the scanner with Sukma SP passing orders instructing his subordinates and officers in charge of all the police stations in the district to maintain strict surveillance over the activities of the Christian missionaries and the converted tribals.

The official letter issued to his subordinates by Sukma SP Sunil Sharma says:

The Christian missionaries and the tribal Christians are routinely venturing into internal areas of the district and persuading the non-Christian tribals to get converted by enticing and offering them allurement. Owing to this, the situation resulting in a conflict between the local tribals and those converted (to Christianity) can’t be ruled out. Maintain a consistent watch over the activities of Christian missionaries and converted tribals residing in the district and report if any of their acts are perceived as suspicious.

The New Indian Express quotes Sharma as saying:

“The circular is more as preventive in nature rather than prohibitory. Keeping in view some nearby districts where conflicts were reported owing to religious conversions, I intended such a situation shouldn’t arise in Sukma and the social harmony prevails. The police have been asked to gather its own information through their network on religious conversion activities by enticement”, said Sharma and added that all have the right to follow their faiths.

This is a welcome step keeping in view the fact that tribal regions are particularly targeted by Christian evangelicals who attempt to lure the vanvasis (tribals) into conversion often leading to clashes between those who have converted and those who still follow their traditional indigenous faith.

Recently, a missionary pastor, who was actively involved in conversion activities in Raisimla Village located in Khunti district’s Torpa Tehsil, was driven away by Sarna villagers. The villagers accused the pastor of luring innocent villagers and converting them to Christianity. During the campaign against the pastor, they raised slogans “Sarna ko bachana hai, Isaai ko bhagana hai” (Save Sarna, drive the pastor away).

There have been regular demands from those tribals following the Indic faith to ensure that benefits meant for tribals don’t accrue to Christian converts. There is a long history of the struggles undertaken by Bharat’s tribal population against Christian missionaries in a bid to save their traditional way of life.

The one name that automatically crops up when one speaks of tribal revolts is that of Birsa Munda. Having understood the exploitative nature of Christian missionaries and how evangelists belittled the tribal people and their culture, Munda rose against the British and outsiders.

Vanvasis of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have become increasingly vocal against the Christian missionary threat. Organiser quotes a tribal convert “We follow the Hindu customs and traditions, even though there is pressure from the chaplain to leave them. He further explains that people are slowly becoming aware now. They have understood that our customs and deities have nothing to do with Christianity”.

Missionaries have also been attempting to drive a wedge among the vanvasis by driving a small yet significant tribal population away from their traditional customs and egging them to demand a separate identity thereby fragmenting the tribal society. Having realized the divisive nature of the missionaries, several tribal groups especially in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have started movements against them.

Missionaries have been active even in those villages where outsiders aren’t allowed as per Schedule 6 of the Bharatiya Constitution. FCRA funds are being misused by the Christian missionaries and diverted to conversion activities illegally. In view of all these violations, the order by the Sukma SP is a welcome step.

Exclusive : Bengaluru Church converted 1000s of children in orphanage, got crores from USA!

0

According to a report in Bangalore Mirror, recently five children were rescued by the Childline from Shalom Biblical Baptist Church ministries situated in Chikkabellandur area of Bengaluru. These children were being kept in their custody illegally. The Childline team found this on the basis of directions from the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Board. The children, 14 in number, were living on the premises. Aged between seven and 16 years, 4 girls and 1 boy, were living there without a woman caretaker, which is mandated by law.

The orphanage is not registered and had no permissions to operate. However, the story is much murkier. This organisation, a Christian church, runs a Theological Seminary(college to train Christian priests) and also does “outreach” i.e. converts people from the society, apart from the conversion of children in their orphanage. This has been going on at least since 2002 with funding from WORLDWIDE NEW TESTAMENT BAPTIST MISSIONS,  based in North Carolina, USA.

A family business

Missionary work is family business for Ramesh and Christina Kumar, who run Shalom Biblical Baptist Church ministries. Ramesh Kumar was converted by an American missionary when he was 16. Conversion was quite beneficial for Ramesh, whose son Enoch completed his studies from USA in Theology.

Enoch got married in 2001 in another Baptist missionary family, the ones who run Shakinah Biblical Baptist Church Ministries, which is again a conversion shop funded from USA. Now they have kids – “third generation missionaries”, who would no doubt enter this lucrative business.

The Foreign Connection

We shall focus only on the Shalom Biblical Baptist Church ministries, run by Kumars and not talk of the Gurupatra family run Shakinah Biblical Baptist Church Ministries. The purpose is to show that how much a single such missionary organisation is able to achieve and how much support they get. The receipt of Foreign donations by Bharat based organisations have to be filed with the government and the data has been made publicly available by the government. One can go here and not only verify this data, but also check activities in own district and state.

Shalom Biblical Baptist Church ministries is funded by Worldwide New Testament Baptist Missions of USA. The data of years, from 2007 to 2021, for this organisation has been given below:-

  • Year 2006-07 : received Rs. 2951606(approx 30 lakhs)
  • Year 2007-08 : received Rs. 2419224( approx 24 lakhs)
  • Year 2008-09 : received Rs. 2092012( approx 21 lakhs)
  • Year 2009-10 : received Rs. 2610147( approx 26 lakhs)
  • Year 2010-11 : received Rs. 1682417( approx 17 lakhs)
  • Year 2011-12 : received Rs. 1481519( approx 15 lakhs)
  • Year 2012-13 : received Rs. 2660269( approx 27 lakhs)
  • Year 2013-14 : received Rs. 3252077( approx 33 lakhs)
  • Year 2014-15 : received Rs. 2625856( approx 26 lakhs)
  • Year 2015-16 : received Rs. 3270105( approx 33 lakhs)
  • Year 2016-17 : received Rs. 3037462( approx 30 lakhs)
  • Year 2017-18 : received Rs. 2785337( approx 28 lakhs)
  • Year 2018-19 : received Rs. 3466329( approx 35 lakhs)
  • Year 2019-20 : received Rs. 3031509( approx 30 lakhs)

Curiously, the sudden fluctuation in 2010-11 and 2012-13 is also co-terminus with the US visit of Enoch for receiving Doctor of Theology degree. In other years, the flow if funds is more or less consistent with a total of approximately Rs. 3.75 crores flowing into Bharat. However, the data available only since 2007, while the Kumars have been in the business with the US based Mission since 1987. One can reasonably surmise that many more crores have been spent in Bharat during that period.

It must be mentioned here that this is not the only church that Worldwide New Testament Baptist Missions of USA supports in Bharat. Then, there are other foreign organisations with their own churches to fund in Bharat.

The work they do

  • Sept 2015 – 7 Hindu minors in orphanage converted
  • Jan 2016 – Intolerance in Bharat(our readers might remember) by Hindus; outdoor activities stopped as Hindus reconvert Christians; 3 Hindus and many orphans converted

Please keep in mind that orphanages had to abide by new rules in 2015, under which Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa had to close 13 orphanages as now orphanages could be run only by secular organisations. The Kumars continued running their illegal operations after this.

  • July 2016 – Hindutva is “idolatry, black magic and superstitious culture and perverted sexuality”; converted 9 children

  • May 2018 – converted 6 Hindu children from the orphanage(also note the map of Bharat with missing Aksai Chin and PoK)
  • Sept 2018 – converted 9 Hindu children from orphanage; trying to convert Hindu students
  • Jan 2019 -to convert “dark pagan India” is our mission; 2 children converted
  • March 2021 – 3 Hindu children and one Hindu woman converted

We have left some letters/reports due to repetitive content. One thing that we have left out in the above summary is the constant begging for money from USA. Also note that everywhere they have shown the map of Bharat, it is incomplete as Aksai Chin and PoK are not shown as part of the country. It is also notable that Kumars are demonising Hindus openly, which is actually in consonance with their bigoted doctrine.

The above summary reveals that thousands of people have been converted using foreign money by Kumars, in their illegal orphanage. Apart from this illegality of running an orphanage without permission, the use of foreign donations for religious conversions is banned according to Section 12(4) of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act. Clearly, they were using this money for conversion, else why would they mention the same so prominently in their reports?

Sadly, this is the story of thousands of such churches in Bharat who get thousands of crores in foreign money every year. It is time the government took substantial action against such churches and directed the officer to be vigilant. Hindu civilisation is under attack at a thousand fronts. Only decisive collective action can save us. Supporting of organisations that have the capacity to turn out literature, and other material to aid conversion into Hindu Dharma and the zeal to convert people back is the only way.

More graves of native children who died in Canadian Christian schools found

0

More than 160 unmarked graves have been found near a former indigenous residential school in Canada’s British Columbia province, according to a media report.

The Penelakut Tribe found the “undocumented and unmarked” graves around the Kuper Island Industrial School operated from 1890 until 1975 on the Penelakut Island, formerly known as the Kuper Island, where many horrors have already been documented, Xinhua news agency quoted the CTV report as saying on Monday night.

The report however, did not specify how the graves were found.

It is the fourth discovery of unmarked graves near indigenous residential schools in the country.

On June 30, the indigenous community Aq’am announced the discovery of the remains of 182 people in unmarked graves around a former indigenous residential school near the town of Cranbrook in British Columbia.

On June 24, the Cowessess First Nation, an indigenous group in Saskatchewan province, announced a preliminary discovery of 751 unmarked graves near a former indigenous residential school

On May 28, the remains of 215 indigenous children were discovered in unmarked graves near the Kamloops Indian Residential School, also in British Columbia.

Survivors of Canada’s indigenous residential schools said the findings were just the tip of the iceberg, renewing their feelings of grief and trauma.

An estimated 150,000 indigenous children across Canada were reportedly removed from their homes and forced to attend residential schools between the 1890s and as recently as 1996.

Yogi govt to set up ‘health ATMs’ in rural areas

0

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh will now set up automated health check-up machines on the lines of ATMs at the community health centres (CHC) and primary health centres (PHC) level in the state.

The State Health Department has been instructed to chalk out a pragmatic action plan and install — ‘Health ATMs’ — walk-in medical kiosks with integrated medical devices for basic vitals, cardiology, neurology, pulmonary testing, gynaecology, basic laboratory testing and emergency facilities, staffed by a medical attendant in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The kiosks will perform free-of-cost check-ups on 59 parameters, some of which include: Body Mass Index (BMI), Bone Mass, Hydration in the body, Pulse Rate, Muscle Mass, blood pressure, haemoglobin, metabolic age, weight, height, temperature, basal metabolic rating, visceral fat, oxygen saturation and blood glucose.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued directives to ensure that training of technicians should be completed at the earliest possible in order to expedite the process of setting up the ATMs.

The state government has been roping in innovative measures to provide primary healthcare facilities in the remotest regions, villages and rural areas of the state. The Health ATMs will provide quick and convenient preventive health screening to the citizens and will help in enabling the government in providing accessible medicare facilities at the grassroots level.

According to the government spokesperson, by providing seamless access to quality caregivers and quick diagnostics, Health ATMs will empower consumers to be more aware about their health.

Through the Health ATMs, the attendants will also connect patients with certified doctors using high-definition video conferencing, digital medical devices and web/mobile applications.

Medical advice will also be given to the people undergoing the tests.

OPD-like facilities will be available in health ATMs and diet charts according to disease and ways to reduce mental stress will also be told on the basis of medical reports.

“As most doctors do not want to serve in far-flung areas, the concept of Health ATMs will enable technology in bridging this gap by providing health care to the rural populace.

“These smart machines will be able to diagnose a medical condition in about 16 minutes and will also dispense pills for free, which will not only be a boon for people amid the prevailing pandemic but will also generate employment opportunities for many technicians,” said a senior health official.

Several industrial groups have also expressed their willingness to provide ‘Health ATMs’ to the government.

Serum Institute to start Sputnik V production in September

0

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Serum Institute of India (SII) on Tuesday announced plans to start producing of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V against the coronavirus, with the first batch to be produced at SII’s facilities in September.

The companies intend to produce over 300 million doses of the vaccine in India per year.

As part of the technical transfer process, SII has already received cell and vector samples from the Gamaleya Center, which developed the Sputnik V jab. After the approval by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI), the cultivation process has begun.

“RDIF is delighted to cooperate with Serum Institute of India, the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer. This strategic partnership is a major step to substantially increase our production capabilities demonstrating a perfect example of joining forces and expertise to save lives both in India and around the world. With technology transfer underway we expect the first batches of the vaccine to be produced jointly with SII in coming months,” said Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, in a statement.

“I am delighted to partner with RDIF to manufacture the Sputnik vaccine. We hope to make millions of doses in the coming months with trial batches starting in the month of September. With high efficacy and a good safety profile, it is critical that the Sputnik vaccine is accessible in full measure for people across India and the world. Given the uncertainty of the virus, it is important for international institutes, and governments to collaborate and further bolster up our fight against the pandemic,a added Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India.

Sputnik V was registered in India under the emergency use authorisation procedure on April 12 and vaccination against coronavirus with the Russian vaccine started on May 14. It was the third vaccine to be cleared for immunisation programme in India after Covaxin and Covishield.

The Sputnik V vaccine is based on a proven and well-studied platform of human adenoviral vectors, which cause the common cold and have been around for thousands of years. The vaccine is two-shot and studies have shown it to be 97.6 per cent effective against Covid-19. It is priced less than $10 per shot, making it affordable around the world.

India is the leading production hub for production of Sputnik vaccine. RDIF had earlier reached agreements with a number of pharmaceutical companies in India — Gland Pharma, Hetero Biopharma, Panacea Biotec, Stelis Biopharma, Virchow Biotech and Morepen — for production of the Russian vaccine.

Sputnik V vaccine has, so far, been registered in 67 countries globally with a total population of over 3.5 billion people.

Madarsas in Kanpur sheltering and training Pak sponsored terrorists

0
report
Terrorism.

Investigations following the arrest of two alleged terrorists in Lucknow on Sunday, have revealed that Kanpur is a major hub of terror activities.

ATS sources claimed that the interrogation of Maseeruddin and Minhaz Ansari has revealed that the two were frequenting madrasas in Nai Sadak and Chamanganj localities in Kanpur where some other members were being trained for terror activities.

It was mainly from here that they were in touch with their handler Umar Halmandi whose location is on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Halmandi governs the Indian module of the Al-Qaeda.

“Similar activities were being held in about two dozen locations in Kanpur. Youths from Rehmani market were supplying SIM cards and mobile phones to them. They have also been detained for questioning,” said an official.

Sources said that the arrested men had initially planned to trigger serial blasts in May but the plan was put off due to the lockdown.

Meanwhile, ATS teams are continuing to raid various locations to arrest those who funded and provided logistical support to Maseeruddin and Minhaz for their proposed strike.

The ATS will soon take the two to Kanpur for further investigations and will also bring them face to face with other suspects.

It may be recalled that working on a tip off, the ATS had arrested Maseeruddin and Minhaz Ansari from a house in Kakori area on the outskirts of Lucknow on July 11, after a seven-hour operation.

The ATS team recovered a huge amount of explosives, firearms and live pressure cooker bombs from the house.

The parents of Minhaz Ansari and other family members were also detained after the operation but were released after a five-hour interrogation.

Bharat launches BHIM-UPI services in Bhutan

0

As part of the plans to extend its digital footprint in the neighbouring countries, Bharat on Tuesday launched the BHIM-UPI-led services in Bhutan.

The launch was carried out virtually by Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, and the Finance Minister of Bhutan, Lyonpo Namgay Tshering.

Speaking on the occasion, Sitharaman said that the services have been started in Bhutan under Bharat’s neighbourhood first policy and the country is proud and happy to share them with its valued neighbour.

The Finance Minister said that BHIM UPI has been one of the brightest spots and an achievement for digital transactions in Bharat during the Covid-19 pandemic with more than 100 million UPI QRs being created in the last five years, while in 2020-21 alone, it processed 22 billion transactions worth Rs 41 lakh crore.

The Finance Minister of Bhutan, Lyonpo Namgay Tshering, thanked and appreciated the Government of Bharat for the launch of BHIM-UPI services in Bhutan and added that the bond between the two countries is becoming stronger each passing day.

The launch fulfils the commitment made by the two countries during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhutan in 2019. Following that visit, Bharat and Bhutan have already enabled inter-operability in acceptance of Rupay cards in each other’s countries in two phases — acceptance of Rupay cards issued in Bharat at Bhutan based terminals in the first phase, and vice versa in the second phase.

With the launch of BHIM-UPI in Bhutan, the payment infrastructures of the two countries are seamlessly connected and will benefit a large number of tourists and businessmen from Bharat who travel to Bhutan each year. This will also enhance the ease of living and ease of travelling through cashless transactions at the touch of a button.

As a part of the launch, Sitharaman also made a live transaction using BHIM-UPI to purchase an organic product from a Bhutanese OGOP outlet, which sells fresh farm produce made organically by the local communities in Bhutan.

15 JMB terrorists crossed into Bharat from Bangladesh, some posing here as fruit sellers

0
assault

The three operatives of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), who were arrested from the southern fringes of Kolkata a couple of days back, have opened up a Pandora’s Box for Kolkata Police.

Interrogating the arrested trio, the Kolkata police have come to know that they were not alone but as many as 15 neo JMB terrorists have sneaked into the state and 10 of them are moving around in various parts of the country.

At least 15 neo JMB operatives had entered West Bengal from the neighbouring Bangladesh earlier this year, and 10 of them moved to various parts of Bharat, including Jammu and Kashmir, an officer of Kolkata Police’s Special Task Force (STF) said.

The remaining five had stayed back in West Bengal and three of them, who are Bangladeshi nationals, were arrested from south Kolkata’s Haridevpur area on Sunday, the officer said.

The arrested trio has been identified as Naziur Rahman Powell alias Jayaram Vyapari alias Joseph (30), Raviul Islam (22) and Sheikh Shabbir alias Mikail Khan (30).

The police said the accused persons illegally crossed the border about a month ago and arrived here. Asked if they had links with the two suspected Ansar Ghazwat-ul Hind operatives arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Lucknow during the day, an officer said, “We are checking that angle also.”

The STF said that it recovered mobile phones, two religious books, a diary and a Bharatiya identity card from the accused.

According to the police, the three had rented a house claiming that they were here for medical treatment. They masqueraded as fruit and mosquito net sellers.

The initial investigation has revealed that the suspected Bangladeshi nationals, who are reportedly from the neighbouring country’s Gopalganj area, were living in a rented house on MG Road, and were collecting funds for the organisation.

Presently, the Kolkata Police are looking for Sheikh Sakil and Salim Munshi, who allegedly helped the trio prepare fake Aadhaar cards and also arranged for their accommodation.

“Sakil had helped them prepare fake Aadhaar cards which they had used to get accommodation on rent. The three came to India following the instructions of senior JMB leader Al Ameen,” the officer said.

The STF has contacted the Bangladesh Police to know more details about the arrested trio, the officer said, adding that the landlord of the house in which they had taken two rooms on rent was called for questioning.

“We need to know how he came to know these people,” he said.

On Monday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) also started collecting information about the three arrested JMB operatives.

“We have started gathering information about them and are trying to find out who else is associated with them. We are at a very initial stage,” an NIA officer said.

A top commander of the terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was among the three killed in an encounter between the terrorists and security forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Wednesday.

“One more unidentified terrorist killed (Total 03). Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition recovered. Search going on,” said a tweet from the J&K Police.

The police identified the LeT terrorist as Aijaz alias Abu Huraira and said he was from Pakistan. Aijaz was killed along with two local terrorists during the encounter.

The gunfight started in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a joint team of the police and army cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of a specific information about the presence of terrorists.

As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where terrorists were hiding they came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.

Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Vijay Kumar congratulated police and security forces.
