“You couldn’t use her?” senior SP leader Mata Prasad allegedly asks acquaintance about the latter’s beautiful woman relative aka ‘mast maal’

A shocking audio conversation has surfaced in which senior SP leader Mata Prasad Pandey is purportedly heard crassly objectifying a woman as a sex object while talking to an acquaintance who comes across as equally lecherous and misogynistic. As per some sources, the other man on the line is also an SP party worker.

Mata Prasad calls the other man to commiserate with him for the passing away of his father. But after a minute or so, the conversation takes a disturbing and sordid turn. Mata Prasad asks the man if his sister-in-laws also visited for the final rites. In particular, he wants to know if the wife of one Mangal had come – he describes her as ‘very beautiful and tall’. The other man, as lecherous as Mata Prasad, replies “Bahut mast maal hai bauji”, basically objectifying what seems to be his own married relative as “excellent goods”.

Mata Prasad (MP): “yes, what I saw the other day was very nice…you could not use (sic) her, no?”

Other man (OM): “No, bauji”

MP: “Why not…because she is elder?”

OM: “She is elder, she will refuse..”

MP: “Yes, that is why you are afraid…but she is very..”

OM: “Yes bauji, she is too beautiful, if I get her I will finish her (laughs)”

MP: “Mangal knows your nature very well, that is why he must be extra cautious…”

Mata Prasad Pandey is a 6-time SP MLA from Itwa constituency of Siddarthnagar district, UP. He also served two terms as UP Legislative Assembly Speaker.

Senior SP leaders talking in such disgusting fashion about women comes as no surprise to those who know Samajwadi history. Patriarch Mulayam Yadav had once explained rape as a “Boys will be boys” mistake while demanding leniency in punishment to rapists. He even questioned the very feasibility of gang-rape saying that it was not practical for four boys to rape a girl at a time. When Mayawati had accused Mulayam’s men for a failed rape attempt, Mulayam defended his party with “Is she so pretty that anyone would want to rape her”?

In 2014, when questioned by a lady journalist about the law and order situation in the state in the backdrop of the Badaun rape and murder case and the Azamgarh gangrape incident, then CM Akhilesh retorted, “I hope you have not faced any danger!” 

Jailed senior SP leader, former minister and Rampur MP Azam Khan had made a derogatory sexist jibe against actress Jaya Prada who was contesting against him in the 2019 LS elections: “I brought her (Jaya Prada) to Rampur. You are a witness that I did not allow anyone to touch her body. It took you 17 years to identify her real face but I got to know in 17 days that she wears khaki underpant.”

In 2009, Khan had circulated morphed pictures of Jaya Prada in Rampur district. Both she and Khan were in the Samajwadi Party (SP) then. In March 2018, Khan reportedly called her a “naachne wali”. Incredibly, Azam Khan and other Muslim leaders like SP’s Moradabad MP ST Hasan (he of the ‘Interference in sharia caused coronavirus’ and other such gems) passed even more derogatory remarks against Jaya Prada in event organised to honour Khan after he defeated Jaya in the 2019 elections. That case is under trial.

Then we have SP MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq who claimed that increasing marriageable age to 21 would give women an opportunity to indulge in ‘awargi’ (reckless, immoral behaviour).

Mumbai-based SP leader Abu Azmi is arguably the king of sexism, misogyny and sexual objectification of women. He said men can be “possessed by Shaitan” if left alone with daughters, sisters. Defending Mulayam’s “boys will be boys” rape apologia, Azmi said that women who got raped were ‘equally guilty’ as the rapist, and ‘both should be hanged’. Azmi has also compared women to sugar and molesters to ants, and advocated that a woman should go out after dark only with her husband or father.

Is it any wonder that any sane citizen, especially women, shudders at the very thought of this pack of Samajwadis coming back to power in UP?

MP woman held hostage for 6 years in Lucknow, rescued by police

The Lucknow police have rescued a 22-year-old woman who was held captive for the past six years and raped repeatedly.

The woman, who hails from Madhya Pradesh, has a two-year-old child.

The police suspect that more girls could have been held captive by the accused Manish Pratap.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), west zone, Somen Barma said that details began to tumble out after Manish was arrested by the Aminabad police on February 11 for running a fake marksheet gang.

The officer said that after his arrest the police came across the 22-year-old woman survivor.

A woman gazetted officer was asked to talk to the girl who narrated the terror, pain and agony she underwent while she was held captive by Manish.

“The girl alleged that she was taken from her home in Madhya Pradesh by Manish on the pretext of providing good education to her.

In 2015, she was brought to Lucknow and was subjected to torture. She claimed that she was raped several times.

A CCTV camera was also installed in washroom to blackmail the girl,” she told the officer.

The DCP said that the girl could muster courage to speak against Manish only when she was convinced that Manish had been arrested and he could no longer do any harm to her.

“We are in touch with the girl’s family. Her statements would be recorded in front of a magistrate,” he said and added that she had also told the police that several girls like her were exploited by the miscreant.

An FIR under charges of rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 has been lodged against Manish.

SC directs TN government to hand over Lavanya case to CBI, asks to not make it a prestige issue

The Supreme Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to hand over papers of the Lavanya case to CBI and not make it into a prestige issue. TN government had appealed against Madras HC’s order directing CBI to take over the case. The HC had observed that since a high ranking minister himself had taken a stand TN police cannot continue the investigation.

17 year old Hindu girl Lavanya had accused the nuns at the Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School in Michaelpatti, Thanjavur, of forcing her to convert to Christianity. She was promised good education and job in return. However she refused to convert as a result of which she was tortured by the nuns at St.Michael’s Home for Children. She was made to clean rooms, toilets, keep books and cook. Unable to bear the harassment she consumed pesticide and gave a dying declaration mentioning Sahaya Mary and Racheline Mary as the ones who asked her to convert. She died on January 19 in Thanjavur Medical College Hospital.

Despite the dying declaration mentioning the conversion angle, the police and government had tried to suppress the angle from the moment her video went viral in social media. Lavanya’s parents had approached the court after Thanjavur SP, ministers Anbil Mahesh and Geeta Jeevan had openly told media that there is no conversion angle in the case at the initial stages of the investigation itself. They had sought the court to transfer the case to CBI as they had no trust in TN police. The Madurai bench of Madras High Court which heard their petition observed that the DSP “wanted to completely suppress the conversion angle altogether”.

Noting how a high ranking minister, Anbil Mahesh, Minister of School Education, himself had taken a stand the court felt it could hamper the investigation and ordered a CBI inquiry. However the TN government had approached the SC appealing against the order. DGP had also challenged the remarks made by HC against TN police’s conduct. SC heard it today and directed the TN government to hand over papers of the case to CBI. It also asked the government to not make it a prestige issue.

Refusing to interfere in the HC’s decision to transfer the case to CBI, the SC bench said, “It might not be appropriate for us to interject in the investigation of CBI”. But it agreed to issue notice on the aspect of HC’s remarks against TN police for its inaction.

It is to be noted that while the police department and Education Department officials ruled out the conversion angle and tried to absolve the school of playing any part in Lavanya’s death, NCPCR Chairman who inspected the school had found that the “hostel” attached to the school was infact registered as a “Child Care Institution” aka “orphanage”. Apart from this, the DMK government has been trying to ruke out the conversion angle from the beginning and recently DMK MLA Inigo Irudaya Raj was spotted felicitating the prime accused, warden Sahaya Mary, when she came out of the jail after securing bail.

It is civil war in Pakistan: Baloch leader Naela Quadri

Chairperson of the Baloch People’s Congress and a leader of the Balochistan resistance movement, Prof Naela Quadri Baloch has said that Pakistan is facing the worst civil war and that the Pakistani Army had lost more than 190 of its soldiers after an ambush by the Balochistan resistance forces.

Naela Quadri, who is also the president of the World Baloch Women’s Forum, was speaking at a Webinar, “Recent Developments in Balochistan”, organised by the Centre for Policy and Development Studies, a think tank based out of Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.

The Baloch leader said that the people of Balochistan were facing extreme torture at the hands of the Pakistani armed forces. Prof Naela Quadri Baloch said that girls are picked up at random and are raped and in some cases, the mutilated dead bodies of these girls are recovered from fields and uninhabited places.

The senior Baloch leader, who is one of the leading international voices of the Balochistan movement and living in exile in Canada, said that forced disappearances are taking place on a daily basis in Balochistan. Naela Quadri said that according to the information compiled by various groups connected to the Balochistan movement, more than 55,000 people are missing and that the Pakistani Army are arresting innocent people and torturing them in their torture cells and killing them, and dropping the dead bodies at will. She said that Pakistan was a failed state and that in Sindhudesh also movements have erupted against the Pakistani Army.

Prof Naela Quadri Baloch said that the Balochistan people are strong and have resilience and will to fight against the better equipped Pakistani Army and after the 190 casualties of its personnel, the army has increased the torture of the Baloch people. She, however, said that the Pakistan Army is not walking through a rosy patch and that Baloch people will not sit in silence facing the attack by the ‘rogues’ in the Pakistani Army.

Coming down heavily on China, she said that China is trying to totally take over places in South Balochistan, and for that, they are pressuring the Pakistani government to divide Baloch province into North and South Balochistan. She said that the people of Balochistan would never allow such a bifurcation.

Prof Naela Quadri also said that several young, educated youths of Balochistan, who used to take classes for those children who are not going to schools, have been rounded up by the Pakistani Army and all of them are missing.

She said, “The Pakistani establishment does not want the Baloch people to get educated and routinely pick up our people who are highly educated and helping our children.”

The leader also said that the Baloch people would continue their natural fight for justice until the goal is achieved. She said that the Indian government was also not actively supporting the Baloch cause and wanted the people of India to be proactive in the matter.

Munir Mengal, President of Baloch Voice Association and based out of Paris while addressing the webinar said that there was no justice in Pakistan and added that people are routinely getting killed due to the failure of the judiciary. Munir, who also represents the Baloch people in international forums including the United Nations, said that for the past couple of years, UN meetings have come reduced due to the Covid pandemic and have heavily affected the momentum of the cause.

डियर मलाला, अपने मुल्क पर ध्यान दें, जहाँ पर कुरआन के कथित अपमान पर पत्थर मार मार कर ज़िन्दगी कर दी जाती है ख़त्म

मलाला को इस बात का बहुत मलाल है कि भारत में अल्पसंख्यकों के अधिकारों का हनन होता जा रहा है और मलाला ने भारत में उन लड़कियों का समर्थन करते हुए भावुक होकर लिखा है कि उन्हें शिक्षा से वंचित किया जा रहा है। मगर जब मलाला यह सब लिखती हैं तो अपने देश पर दृष्टि डालना भूल जाती हैं, वह यह भूल जाती हैं, कि उनके मुल्क में तो अल्पसंख्यकों से जीने का अधिकार ही छीन लिया जाता है।

अल्पसंख्यक तो छोड़ दीजिये, वहां पर तो शिया, अहमदियों को भी निशाना बनाया जा रहा है। खैर, मलाला कभी भी उन हिन्दू लड़कियों के लिए नहीं बोलती हैं, जो इस्लामी कट्टरता का शिकार दिनप्रतिदिन पाकिस्तान में हो रही हैं और न ही वह उन मुस्लिम लड़कियों के लिए ही आवाज उठाती हैं, जो कट्टरपंथ का शिकार हो रही हैं।

पाकिस्तान में लगभग हर महीने ही कथित “ब्लेसफेमी” के कारण लोगों को घेरकर मारने की घटनाएं होती रहती हैं। पिछले कुछ दिनों में एक मुस्लिम महिला को जहाँ कुछ व्हाट्सएप मेसेज के आधार पर ब्लेसफेमी का आरोपी मानते हुए फांसी की सजा सुनाई जा चुकी है तो वहीं पिछले ही सप्ताह एक हिन्दू शिक्षक को ब्लेसफेमी का दोषी मानते हुए उम्र कैद की सजा सुना दी है।

पाकिस्तान में ब्लेसफेमी कानून के शिकार केवल हिन्दू ही होते हैं, ऐसा नहीं है, बल्कि श्रीलंका के एक नागरिक को भी घेर घेर कर मार डाला था और आग के हवाले कर दिया था। मीडिया के अनुसार  इस क़ानून का दुरूपयोग किया जा रहा है और निजी दुश्मनी निकालने के लिए इस क़ानून का प्रयोग किया जाता रहा है।

जैसा उस लड़की के मामले में देखा जा रहा है जिसे हाल ही में मौत की सजा सुनाई गयी है।

मीडिया के अनुसार जिस लड़के ने अनिका के खिलाफ यह शिकायत दर्ज कराई थी, वह उसके साथ दोस्ती में कुछ अधिक चाहता था, और जब उसने ऐसा करने से इंकार कर दिया तो फारुक ने उसे पैगम्बर की बुराई की मामले में फंसाने की चाल चली।

मीडिया के अनुसार अनिका को इस मुक़दमे के दौरान कोई भी विशेष कानूनी मदद नहीं दी गयी। ईसाई महिला आसिया बीबी का मुकदमा लड़ने वाले सैफुल मालूक ने कहा कि “डिफेन्स के वकील ने पूरे मुक़दमे के दौरान उसे सही से डिफेंड नहीं किया और यहाँ तक कि जब अदालत की कार्यवाही हो रही थी, तो उसके कथित अपराध को स्वीकार भी कर लिया, इसलिए उसे सजा दी गयी।”

परन्तु मलाला सहित उन लोगों की एक भी आवाज अनिका के लिए नहीं आई जो भारत में लड़कियों को पर्दे में बंद करने के लिए दिन रात एक किए हुए हैं।

हिन्दू शिक्षक नौतन लाल को भी इस काले क़ानून का शिकार बनाया गया,

उन पर जुर्माना भी लगाया गया है। अब उन्हें इस काले क़ानून में पूरा जीवन भर जेल में रहना पड़ेगा।

परन्तु मलाला सहित उन में से किसी को भी इस काले क़ानून पर मलाल नहीं होता!

मलाला अभी भारत में लड़कियों को हिजाब न पहनने देने पर मलाल जता रही हैं, तो वहीं परसों ही उनके अपने मुल्क पाकिस्तान में एक आदमी को कथित रूप से कुरआन के अपमान में पत्थरों से पीट पीट कर मार डाला गया।

इसी घटना पर मेजर गौरव आर्या ने पाकिस्तान के विदेश मंत्री शाह मुहम्मद कुरैशी को घेरते हुए कहा कि आप लोग भारत में hijab और लड़कियों की शिक्षा को लेकर चिंतित हैं, क्या आप अब झूठे ब्लेसफेमी के आरोप में मारे गए मानसिक विकलांग आदमी के बारे में ट्वीट करेंगे?

तारेक फ़तेह ने लिखा कि पाकिस्तानी भीड़ ने एक मानसिक रूप से बीमार इंसान को मस्जिद में कुरआन जलाने के आरोप में मार डाला। परिवार वालों के अनुसार वह आदमी पिछले पंद्रह सालो से बीमार था और कहीं भी खाने और पीने की आस में चला जाता था।

नुरियन खान ने कहा कि एक इंसान पर आरोप लगाया गया, उस पर जुल्म किया गया और फिर मार दिया गया। परन्तु अधिकारियों की ओर से पूरी तरह से शांति है,। पाकिस्तान को शर्म आनी चाहिए। यह बर्बर ब्लेसफेमी क़ानून पाकिस्तान को घुटने पर ला देगा,

यह दुखद है कि तुम ऐसे देश में रहते थे जिसमें इतनी नफरत वाली मानसिकता है

अल ज़जीरा के पत्रकार असद हाशिम ने कहा कि अल ज़जीरा के अनुसार वर्ष 1990 से पाकिस्तान में लगभग 81 लोगों को ब्लेसफेमी के आरोप में मारा जा चुका है। शनिवार को जो मोबलिंचिंग हुई है, वह दो महीने में हुई दूसरी घटना है, रविवार को ही ऐसी एक घटना फैसलाबाद में होने वाली थी, परन्तु उसे बचा लिया गया

प्रश्न यही है कि भारत के मामले में जहाँ पर इसी कट्टरपंथ और पागलपन से बचाने के प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं, वहां पर पाकिस्तान के कट्टरपंथी लोग आग लगाने के लिए लगातार आगे आ रहे हैं और उनके कट्टरपंथ के कारण हिन्दू और मुसलमान दोनों ही लगातार पीड़ित हो रहे हैं, मारे जा रहे हैं, परन्तु दुःख है कि डियर मलाला को अपने मुल्क में हो रही इन घटनाओं पर मलाल नहीं होता!

Warden named by Lavanya in her dying declaration felicitated by DMK MLA

In what can only be interpreted as a show of solidarity with the missionaries, a DMK MLA has felicitated the warden who tortured Lavanya. The court had granted her bail a few days ago and she was spotted being felicitated by DMK MLA Inigo Irudaya Raj in front of the jail as she came out.

The death of a 17 year old Hindu girl who was pressurised to convert and tortured when she denied had shaken the whole nation. The girl had accused warden Sahaya Mary and Racheline Mary, both nuns, of harassing her after she refused to embrace Christianity. She gave a dying declaration that she was made to clean toilets, cook and keep books.

Following this her parents had lodged a complaint with the local police and the warden was arrested. However since then there have been attempts to discredit the dying declaration of the girl at many levels. First the police told the media that there is no conversion angle in the case. Then the Minister of School Education and the Minister of Women and Child Welfare and Social Defence said that there is no conversion angle and that they have evidence to prove it.

The Education Department officials also leaked information that in all the years they had inspected the school there never was any conversion charges. However, the parents of the victim stood steadfast that she was forced to convert. They were vilified by government agencies and media despite the father being a card carrying member of the ruling party DMK.

They went to court expressing fears that justice won’t be served as police have a preconceived notion of the issue. The court, observing that the police department was prejudiced and ministers went as far as taking a public stance, felt that the state police cannot be allowed to continue the investigation. It has directed the CBI to take over the case. But the DMK government had appealed in the Supreme Court against this decision which is pending to be heard on February 14.

In the meanwhile, the only arrest made in this case was of the “hostel” warden Sahaya Mary. She was granted bail a few days ago and was welcomed and felicitated by DMK MLA Inigo Irudaya Raj as she came out of the jail. Inigo is the founder and convener of Christian Goodwill Movement. He has been calling for Christians to come to power to “represent” themselves better.

In one of the events organised by him a Christian priest said, “The majority (Hindus) are nothing but mosquitoes and can be easily swatted away”. Before the 2019 Loksabha elections Inigo spoke in a Christian event where he said,  “They(BJP) think they can obtain power by doing yagnas. In the 2019 polls both Christian and Muslim brothers will unite to defeat BJP and anyone who supports them which is our only duty.“

A Catholic priest George Ponnaiah had said that if not for Christian votes DMK wouldn’t have come to power and that DMK coming to power is alms provided by Christians. Even after that TN CM and DMK chief MK Stalin himself showed support for the community by saying, “The government in power in Tamil Nadu was “created/formed” by you”. With this background it doesn’t surprise when Sahaya Mary is felicitated by a DMK MLA. But like Madras HC, the Supreme Court as well should take note of the ruling party’s clear bias and rule accordingly.

It is to be noted that the “hostel” where Lavanya was made to stay was registered as a “Child Care Institution” aka “orphanage”. UCA news, a credible source for information related to the Catholic church, says St.Michael’s Home for Children is an orphanage/home. The Vatican had sent $5,500 to the orphanage in 2018 for its maintenance.

आइये रसपान करें महादेव और माँ पार्वती की प्रेम कथा का एवं बताएं पश्चिम को कि प्रेम यहाँ पर जिया जाता रहा है

आज जब पूरा विश्व कथित रूप से प्रेम दिवस मना रहा है, तब आवश्यक है कि भारत में सबसे सुन्दर प्रेम कथा को समझा जाए। भारत का प्रेम, जिसमें आध्यात्म से लेकर दाम्पत्तय प्रेम तक प्रेम का हर रूप अपने सर्वाधिक उदात्त एवं सर्वाधिक उदार, मुखर प्रारूप में व्यक्त होता है। यह प्रेम कथा है महादेव एवं माँ पार्वती के प्रेम की। जगत जननी माँ हिमालय के घर में पार्वती के रूप में जन्म ले चुकी हैं, और अब माँ, महादेव के लिए तप कर रही हैं।

उनके तप से अब महादेव व्यग्र हो गए हैं, परन्तु अपनी प्रियतमा की परीक्षा लेने के लिए पहुँच गए हैं। ब्राह्मण भेष में! पार्वती ने स्वागत किया। ब्राह्मण भेष में महादेव ने शिव के विषय में कुछ अप्रिय कथन कहे। इस पर पार्वती कुपित हो उठी हैं। और उन्होंने कहा

“हे ऋषिवर, शिव के विषय में कुछ भी भ्रामक सुनने से तो उत्तम है इस स्थान से ही परे जाया जाए! आप प्रकार का उपहास त्रिलोक स्वामी के विषय में किस प्रकार कर सकते हैं? क्या इस कृत्य से आप स्वयं को श्रेष्ठ प्रमाणित करना चाहते हैं?” शिव को प्राप्त करने हेतु तप में रत पार्वती का क्रोध उस तपस्वी पर बरस रहा था जिस तपस्वी के तेज से अभी कुछ ही क्षण पूर्व वह प्रभावित हुई थीं!

“मेरा प्रश्न आपसे मात्र इतना है देवी, कि वह शमशान स्वामी, वनवासी, जिसके निवास पर कोई सुविधा ही नहीं है, और जिसके पास न ही धन-धान्य पूर्ण महल हैं, जिसके पास न ही आपकी इन सखियों जैसी कोई दासियाँ हैं, एवं न ही आपके सुकोमल तन को विश्राम देने वाले मखमली शय्या एवं बिछौने हैं, तो आप किस प्रकार कैलाश में निवास कर पाएंगी? न ही वहां गज की सवारी होगी, क्या आप एक वृद्ध बैल पर सवार होकर जाएँगी? अभी भी आपके पास समय है त्रिपुर सुन्दरी, किसी और देव को अपना जीवनसाथी चुन लें एवं जीवन को सुख एवं वैभव पूर्ण बना लें! आप स्वयं नहीं जानतीं कि आप जैसी सुकुमार कन्या का स्वामी वह औघड़ होकर कैसा लगेगा?” उस ऋषि पर पार्वती के क्रोध का कुछ असर नहीं हुआ था, एवं वह पूर्ववत ही शिव के विषय में बोलता जा रहा था!

पार्वती का मुख क्रोध से लाल होता जा रहा था, यूं प्रतीत हो रहा था जैसे सम्पूर्ण शरीर का रक्त पार्वती के कपोलों पर एकत्र हो गया हो! तप से जो रूप निखरा था, वह रूप जैसे अपने सर्वाधिक उन्मुक्त रूप में आ गया हो, पार्वती का क्रोध अपनी चरमता पर था। किस प्रकार यह निर्लज्ज ऋषि मेरे शिव का अपमान करने की धृष्टता कर रहा है एवं अपने शब्दबाणों को विराम भी नहीं दे रहा है! यह मूर्ख क्या जाने कि शिव का सौन्दर्य क्या है? जो प्रेम करते हैं वही तो सौन्दर्य देख पाते हैं, शिव तो गौरी के हो ही चुके हैं, बस मूर्त रूप में उन्हें उनके पास आने की देर है! शिव का कैलाश हर महल से बढ़कर है! शिव के कैलाश में जो पुष्पाभूषण होंगे उनसे श्रृंगारित होने पर मेरे सौन्दर्य का क्या रूप निखर कर आएगा, यह इस मूर्ख को ज्ञात नहीं है! परन्तु प्रत्यक्ष में क्रोध को दबाते हुए बोलीं

“ऋषिवर, मुझे यह नहीं ज्ञात है कि आप इस प्रकार शिव के विरुद्ध मुझे क्यों उकसा रहे हैं! शिव ही अब मेरे प्राण हैं, मैं आपसे कटु शब्दों में चाह कर भी संवाद नहीं कर पा रही हूँ! यह मेरी कैसी विवशता है, यह मेरे ज्ञान से परे है। परन्तु मैं शिव के विषय में अब एक भी शब्द नहीं सुन सकती, चलो विजया, इन ऋषि को अपने में ही शिव निंदा करने दो, हम चलती हैं!” क्रोध से लाल कपोल लेकर ज्यों ही पार्वती मुड़ीं वैसे ही ऋषि रूप में शिव ने पार्वती का हाथ थाम लिया!

“अब आप कहीं नहीं जाएँगी देवी! अब मुझे छोड़कर कहाँ जाएँगी प्रिये! अब मैं तुम्हारा कभी त्याग नहीं करूंगा! देवी, मैं अब तुम्हारा दास हूँ, तुमने अपनी तपस्या से मुझे खरीद लिया है! तुम्हारे सौन्दर्य ने मुझे जीत लिया है! अब तुम मेरी स्वामिनी हो! मेरी दासता को स्वीकार करो! अब तुम्हारे बिना एक क्षण भी मेरे लिए युग के समान है पार्वती! मैं अब तुम्हारे अधीन हूँ, जैसे चाहे स्वीकार करो मुझे! तुम्हारे साथ मैं अब शीघ्र ही अपने निवासस्थान कैलाश जाऊंगा!”

प्रेम में वह मौन का क्षण था, वह प्रेम में प्रेमी के दास बन जाने का क्षण था! वह क्षण था जब तीनों लोक के स्वामी याचक बने खड़े थे!

पार्वती सकुचा रही थीं! कुछ ही क्षण पूर्व क्रोध से लाल हुए कपोलों पर लाज की रक्तिम आभा पसर चुकी थी, अब तक ऋषि के सम्मुख वाचाल हुई पार्वती अब लाज से अपने पैरों से भूमि को खुरच रही थीं! ह्रदय चाह रहा था कि वह हाथ शिव के हाथों में अभी दें दें, परन्तु लोक भी कुछ होता है! लोक ने स्व पर विजय पाई “हे देव, मेरे पिता से मेरा हाथ मांगने शीघ्र आएं!”

शिव ने कहा “अधिक दिनों तक तुम्हारे बिना रह नहीं पाऊंगा प्रिय! शीघ्र ही तुम कैलाश स्वामिनी होगी!”

शिव यह कहकर अपने धाम चले गए और पार्वती उस स्पर्श को अनुभव करे, न जाने कब तक वहीं खड़ी रहीं!

क्या प्रेम सच में सुफल होता है? पार्वती सोच रही थीं।।।

भारत में न जाने कब से प्रेम कथाओं को जिया जा रहा है, यह भारत के प्रेम का ही रूप था, जिसने भारत को भारत बनाए रखा, जिसने भारत के कण कण में नृत्य, संगीत, एवं साहित्य की रचना की। रेगिस्तान से जैसे ही लैला-मजनू आदि का इश्क आया इसने कुंठित साहित्य रचा। जब तक मिलन का साहित्य रहा, जब तक आध्यात्मिक प्रेम रचनाओं का आधार रहा तब तक कालिदास से लेकर तुलसीदास और मीरा बाई तक अमर रचनाकार होते रहे और जब से साहित्य में लैला-मजनू, रोमियो जूलियट आदि का विमर्श आया, तब से न ही प्रेम रचा गया और न ही साहित्य!

आज जब कथित रूप से प्रेम कहानी कही जा रही हैं, तब आवश्यक है भारत की प्रेम कथाओं को स्मरण करने का और बताने का कि यह है प्रेम!

Muslim mob attacks staff, tries to lynch Principal after students told to stop wearing burqa: Murshidabad, WB

At least 18 people were arrested on Saturday for attacking staff members of a school in Suti village of Murshidabad district, West Bengal over reports that the Principal had asked some students to wear the school uniform instead of a burqa as he had to share pictures of students in uniform to the district administration.

As per a Hindustan Times report, Principal (headmaster) Dinbandhu Mitra of the Bahutali High School had told students on Friday to wear the school uniforms instead of the burqa.

On Saturday, a group of local residents surrounded the school demanding that the headmaster be ‘handed over’. The situation worsened in the afternoon as some members of the mob started resorting to violence and pelting stones. Police had to resort to lathi charge and fire tear-gas shells to disperse the mob.

Senior district police and administration officials rushed to the spot to defuse the situation. “We have arrested 18 persons. A search has been initiated to arrest a few more persons. Investigation is going on,” said Bholanath Pandey, superintendent of police of Jangipur. Late in the evening, the police rescued the teachers and the headmaster, who had locked themselves up inside the school building.

Incredibly, Principal Mitra has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him, although it appears he was only following education department directives. A section of villagers said that the students were given uniforms from the school. The teachers are supposed to send those pictures to the district administration. Hence the students were asked to wear uniform instead of burqa.  

Later, a meeting was held on behalf of the school administration with the family members of the girl students. It was clarified by the school that there was ‘no such order’, reports India Today. The matter was settled after ‘negotiations’ between the school administration and students’ guardians.

Trinamool Congress MLA Jakir Hossain, who represents the Jangipur constituency, said,“The incident that took place at Bahutali high school in Suti is very unfortunate. Some miscreants started the brick-batting. The headmaster has been suspended and a few persons have been arrested.”

“A clash broke out in Suti. Some villagers said that the head master had asked the students to come in school uniform instead of burqa. The situation was later brought under control,” said Emani Biswas, TMC legislator of Suti.

“The headmaster had asked the students not to wear burqa. They were told to wear school uniform,” said Tahidul Islam, a local resident.

India Today replaces burqa with hijab in their reporting

From statements of all concerned, it is clear that the students of this school were wearing burqa (long, loose black garment covering the whole body from head to feet) and not hijab (head and neck covering). Yet India Today has conveyed that the violence broke out after students were told not to wear hijab!

Their report says “school allegedly forbade girl students from wearing a hijab and burqa to the class.” This seems to be a clear attempt to fudge the issue to draw a lazy parallel with the ‘hijab row’ currently raging in Karnataka schools. Let’s remind ourselves again about these basic differences in religious clothing of Muslim women:

Hijab

The girls in this Murshidabad school were wearing the garment on the extreme right – if this does not scare any rational citizen, we don’t know what will.

While proponents of Hijab argue that it is merely a Muslim identity marker like the Sikh patka/turban or Hindu tilak, the fact is that the hijab is worn for a very different reason compared to any other religious clothing – its goal is to ‘protect girls from the male gaze’. The very idea that girls need to be covered up, that even the sight of their hair or neck can excite boys, is a troubling, sexist, unwanted message to send to young minds in school.

When even the conservative Muslim Education Group of Kerala that runs 150 educational institutions has banned hijab from its campuses, the demand that has suddenly arisen in Karnataka has no basis and is a cynical Islamist ploy.

But just imagine, Muslim girls in this Murshidabad school have been wearing burqa all along! How was this even allowed in the first place? Burqa is not mandated even in schools of Pakistan’s Lahore to the best of our knowledge! What medieval era are Muslims of this border district in West Bengal living in? Has this area been completely Talibanized?

And the WB administration has suspended Principal Mitra and completely surrendered to the violent mob. And instead of condemning the violence and taking the Muslim parents and locals who attacked the school to task, a ‘liberal’ media outlet like India Today is trying to water down the issue by stating that parents are fighting for hijab.

According to the 2011 census, Muslims formed around 66% of the total population in the border district of Murshidabad. It was the highest among all districts in Bengal. Malda had a Muslim population of 51%.

इन दिनों आंदोलनों का जोर है, इधर भी आन्दोलन, उधर भी आन्दोलन! व्यवस्था को तोड़ने के लिए आन्दोलन! वामपंथियों और कट्टर इस्लाम का हथियार है यह आन्दोलन, परन्तु मजे की बात है कि वामपंथी प्रदेशों, या इस्लामिक देशों में इन आन्दोलनों की अनुमति ही नहीं है। वामपंथी देशों में भी कोई भी व्यक्ति या संस्था उस स्वतंत्रता से आन्दोलन नहीं कर सकती, जितनी स्वतंत्रता से यह लोकतांत्रिक सरकारों में आन्दोलन करते है।

और इसमें इनके हथियार होते हैं, क्रांतिकारी गीत! लगभग सब कुछ तोड़ने के लिए तैयार, परन्तु इस बात से शून्य कि इस तोड़फोड़ के बाद क्या होगा? भूख के गीत, परन्तु इस भूख के कारण क्या हैं, इस विषय में नहीं झांकते? मंदिर नहीं चाहिए, कारखाने चाहिए, पर किसके कारखाने? शून्य है इस विषय में यह गीत! यह गीत भड़काने का कार्य करते हैं, यह गीत ठोस समाधान न देते हुए एक ऐसे भ्रम के चौराहे पर युवाओं को लाते हैं, जहाँ से आगे मात्र भटकाव है, कुंठा है, निराशा है। आइये आज ऐसे ही कुछ गीतों का विश्लेषण करते हैं:

एक ऐसे गीत से शुरुआत करते हैं, जो अर्थव्यवस्था के एक बड़े स्तम्भ अर्थात धार्मिक पर्यटन पर आक्रमण करता है।

खाने को न रोटी देंगे कृष्ण कन्हैया,

मालिकों से लड़ने को एक हो जा भैया

तेरी ही कमाई से खड़े ये कारखाने,

तुझको ही मिलते न पेटभर दाने,

गिद्धों के जैसा तुझसे मालिक का रवैया,

खाने को न रोटी देंगे किशन कन्हैया

बृजमोहन का लिखा हुआ यह गीत क्रांतिकारी गीत माना जाता है, परन्तु जब भी कोई भारत के परिप्रेक्ष्य में यह कहता है कि खाने को रोटी नहीं देंगे राम या किशन, तो वह भारत की आत्मा पर तो प्रहार करता ही है, साथ ही वह धार्मिक पर्यटन के क्षेत्र में होने वाले रोजगार को भी कम करता है। भारत आज से नहीं अपितु सदियों से धार्मिक एवं आध्यात्मिक चेतना का स्थल रहा है, न जाने कहाँ कहाँ से लोग यहाँ पर अपनी आध्यात्मिक पिपासा को शांत करने के लिए आते रहे हैं।

भारत सरकार के पर्यटन मंत्रालय की पत्रिका अतुल्य भारत के 18वें अंक, जो वर्ष 2019 में प्रकाशित हुआ था, धार्मिक पर्यटन के विषय में बताया गया है। इसमें लिखा है कि जैकोव्स्की के अनुसार सभी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पर्यटकों की 35% यात्रा का उद्देश्य स्पष्ट रूप से धार्मिक होता है। इसके साथ ही अधिकाँश लोगों की यात्रा में कोई न कोई धार्मिक स्थल शामिल हो ही जाता है।

हरनार और स्वारोबोक के अनुसार धार्मिक पर्यटन, पर्यटन के सबसे पुराने रूपों में से एक है और यह निस्संदेह ईसाई धर्म से बहुत पहले से मौजूद था।

इस बात को और स्मरण रखना होगा कि भारत हिन्दू धर्म के साथ साथ बौद्ध, जैन एवं सिख आदि धर्मों का भी केंद्र है, अत: पूरे विश्व से भारत में धार्मिक यात्री आते हैं। इसलिए यह कहना अपने आप में अत्यंत बेवकूफी से भरा हुआ है कि राम और किशन खाना नहीं देंगे, धार्मिक और ऐतिहासिक पर्यटन न जाने कितने लोगों को रोजगार देता है! खैर, जब ऐसे बेकार से क्रांतिकारी गीतों को हमारी युवा पीढ़ी रोमांटिसाइज़ करती है तो वह अपने लिए एक बहुत बड़ा रोजगार का क्षेत्र बंद कर लेती है।

और यह लोग लाल क्रान्ति की बात करते हुए लाल सवेरे की बात करते हैं और इन गीतों में वह उस लहू को भुला देते हैं, जो लाल क्रांति ने निर्दोषों का बहाया है।

महेश्वर लिखते हैं

सारा संसार हमारा है, सारा संसार हमारा है,

मजलूमों ने मुल्कों-मुल्कों अब झंडा लाल उठाया है,

जो भूखा था, जो नंगा अहता, अब गुस्सा उसको आया है,

रोके तो कोई हमको जरा, सारा संसार हमारा है!

सर्वेश्वर दयाल सक्सेना लिखते हैं

जारी है जारी है,

अभी लड़ाई जारी है,

यह जो छापा तिलक लगाए और जनेऊधारी हैं,

यह जो जात-पांत पूजक हैं और जो भ्रष्टाचारी हैं,

यह जो भूपति कहलाता है,  जिसकी साहूकारी है,

उसे मिटाने और बदलने की करनी तैयारी है!

क्या यह संयोग है कि जिस छाप तिलक के दुश्मन सर्वेश्वर दयाल सक्सेना है, उसी छाप तिलक के दुश्मन वह भी सूफी कवि रहे, जिन्होनें निजामुद्दीन औलिया की शान में लिखा कि

छाप तिलक सब छीनी रे, मोसे नैना मिलाइके

आखिर सभी को तिलक से ही इतनी घृणा क्यों थी?

क्रांतिगीत कभी भी उस कारण पर बात नहीं करते जिसके कारण यह भूख है। सर्वेश्वर दयाल सक्सेना सहित कई कथित बड़े कवियों की रचना में कभी भी अंग्रेजों को नहीं कोसा जाता, उस कुव्यवस्था के लिए, उस अत्याचार के लिए, जो उन्होंने इस विशाल देश की जनता के साथ किया।

आपकी लड़ाई किससे है? यह क्रांति के गीत किसके विरुद्ध हैं? यह क्रांति के गीत किस उद्देश्य की पूर्ति के लिए हैं? यह खून खराबा किसलिए है?

आप इन क्रांतिकारी गीतों में कभी उत्तर नहीं पाएंगे, क्योंकि उनके पास उत्तर हैं ही नहीं!

गजानन माधव मुक्तिबोध को बहुत बड़ा क्रांतिकारी कवि माना जाता है, वह लिखते हैं

“रोटी तुमको राम न देगा,

वेद तुम्हारा काम न देगा,

जो रोटी का युद्ध करेगा,

वह रोटी को आप वरेगा!”

वेदों के विषय में लिखने का अधिकार उन सभी को कैसे हो गया, जिनकी आस्था ही वेदों में नहीं है? वेदों में क्या नहीं है? अर्थववेद में आयुर्वेद है और राम के विषय में तो कहा ही गया है कि “राम, तुम्हारा चरित स्वयं ही काव्य है।

कोई कवि बन जाय, सहज संभाव्य है।“

मैथिली शरण गुप्त जब यह लिखते हैं तो झूठ नहीं लिखते, कोई भी समाज तभी उन्नति कर सकता है जब उसके समक्ष उसका आदर्श हो। आयातित विमर्श पर उपजा साहित्य कुंठा या विध्वंस ही उत्पन्न करेगा, जैसा इन क्रांतिकारी गीतों में दिखाई देता है।

समय आ गया है जब हम अपने लोक से जुड़े, अपने लोक के गीतों को अपनी पाठ्यपुस्तकों में स्थान दें! यह जो विध्वंस के गीत हैं, वह विनाश के प्रति रूमानियत उत्पन्न करते हैं, क्योंकि इनका विध्वंस सृजन के लिए नहीं है, बल्कि केवल तोड़ने के लिए है!

A 22-year-old girl, who had been missing for the last two months, has been found buried in a septic tank located at a vacant plot near a building belonging to late former SP leader Fateh Bahadur Singh in the Kabba Kheda area in Unnao district of UP.

The woman, who belonged to an SC community, had been missing for two months and her mother had lodged a missing complaint on December 8. The girl’s family had later accused Rajol Singh, son of Fateh Bahadur Singh, of abducting their daughter. The distraught mother told media that her girl could have been saved if police had conducted a thorough search of the ‘ashram’ compound where she believes her daughter was held before she was murdered.

On January 24, the mother jumped in front of Akhilesh Yadav’s car in Lucknow and tried to kill herself. With the news going viral, the police arrested Rajol Singh and interrogated him on PCR remand for nearly eight hours. Based on this interrogation and inputs by police informers, they learnt about the spot where the girl had been buried. Rajol Singh and his companion Suraj Singh, a resident of Nava village of Hardoi district, are said to have carried out the killing.

The accused first strangled the woman to death, wrapped her body in a blanket and buried it in the adjacent septic tank. Her autopsy report revealed that she was strangulated and her neck was broken. As per some reports, there was also proof of injury on her head.

“My daughter was kidnapped by Rajol Singh 50 days ago while she was in the Unnao market. I told them (Police) that she was trapped inside the Ashram. They did not pay attention and instead said that the girl was adult and would come back herself….I knew my daughter was inside. The Police stopped answering to my calls. And now three months later, they’ve pulled her dead body out”, the distraught mother Rita Devi told the media.

She added that that at one point Daroga (ASI) Prem Narayan Dixit had accompanied her to the Ashram to investigate the case. “We looked at the entire Ashram but he deliberately avoided one three-floor building and did not allow me to look there. I am sure my daughter was being held captive there. Other Inspectors, CO (Circle Officer) also kept deflecting, did not allow me to meet the SP, saying your daughter is an adult and must have gone away with someone. One inspector even said that I am trying to earn money through this, that my daughter is with me only but I am trying to extort Rs. 4 lakhs…if my child was with me, why would I roam around like this”, the heartbroken mother cried out.

Who are Rajol Singh and Fateh Bahadur Singh?

Fateh Bahadur Singh fought assembly elections on Lok Dal, Janata Dal, Samajwadi Janata Party, and Samajwadi Party tickets. SP made him chairman of the UP Cooperative Bank and he remained in that position for 23 years. He was considered a close confidante of SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and was minister of state at one point. He died four years ago and is survived by two sons – Ashok Singh and Rajol Singh.

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati tweeted over the issue: “The recovery of the buried dead body of a Dalit girl in an SP leader’s field in Unnao district is very sad and a serious matter. The family had been suspecting the SP leader in the abduction and murder of the girl. The state government should immediately take strict action against the culprits and get justice for the victim’s family.”

Police Reform

People of UP are unanimous in their verdict that the law & order situation in UP has improved by leaps and bounds ever since Yogi Adityanath came to power. The encounters and arrest of dreaded criminals like Mukim Kala, razing of illegal structures built by criminal-politicians like ex-SP MP Atiq Ahmed, shutting down illegal slaughterhouse, anti-conversion law to combat grooming jihad – all these measures have brought a wave of relief to the state that had grown accustomed to goonda-raj and unchecked Islamist violence during SP rule.

But as this case and others show, our police needs deep reforms. The politicization of police in all states is a sad reality – the most egregious example today being the police forces in West Bengal and Kerala. But even with a hard taskmaster like Yogi Adityanath at the helm, some police officers just refuse to mend their old ways. Maybe they are betting on a change of guard in the ongoing assembly elections, or maybe they just earn more from illegal rackets run by ‘secular’ politicians to fear being terminated from service?

But its not just politicization of police that is the issue, as most analysts claim. The deeper problem is the colonial outlook of all our civil servants – IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS etc. They just look down upon ordinary native-language speakers as lesser beings, and think their first job is to exercise control over people not help them.

Unless you are able to demonstrate some influential connections/exhibit street power/grease some palms, the first instinct of many police stations is to ignore your complaint or take token action. Many senior IPS officers have also learnt to mouth banalities about secularism, liberalism etc. to try and shame citizens on selective issues and sweep the serious law & order issues under the carpet. For eg., everyone knows that there are Islamist-dominated no-go zones all across the country that even police fears to enter, but you will never hear some police research institute or high-level seminar talk about it.

When was the last time our courts convicted a senior police officer or any civil servant for corruption or dereliction of duty? The courts are as busy playing to the liberal galleries as any other institution. ‘Secular’ governments like Mamata’s fascist regime openly flout constitutional norms and abuse police power, but have the courts ever held them accountable?

We need indigenization at all levels of our Republic. Our bureaucracy, police and judiciary have to be decolonized – in their outlook, language, laws, departmental codes and training – so that they become more accessible and accountable to the people. Yes, these institutions need safeguards against manipulation by crooked ‘secular’ politicians (swift and heavy punishment to all such political crooks is an important step in this exercise), but at the same time they have to remain accountable to the people and not be allowed to become self-serving, elitist cliques like the higher judiciary has become through the Collegium System.

As for UP, the rot is deep. The state desperately needs a renewed mandate for Yogi to continue with the clean-up on law & order front that he has initiated. All officers who failed to perform their duty in this Unnao case should not just be dismissed, but prosecuted and punished.
