A video of famous hair stylist Jawed Habib spitting into a woman’s hair during a live training seminar in Muzaffarnagar, UP is going viral. He says “agar paani ki kami hai..” (if there is lack of water) before spitting into the scalp of the woman whose hair he is styling on stage. He then adds, “iss thook mein jaan hai” (there is life in this spit)
Shockingly, the audience is heard laughing and clapping in the background.
Habib is a famous hairdresser, having worked with tons of Bollywood celebrities and the official hairstylist for Femina Miss India. He has a chain of over 850 salons, and 65 training institutes in 115 cities in Bharat. In 2019, he joined the BJP. But after watching this video, any ordinary person will think twice about entering into a Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty salon.
Now, the lady, Pooja Gupta from Baraut, Baghpat, who suffered this humiliating and unsettling experience, has spoken out –

In the video she says, “Mera naam Pooja Gupta, Vanshika beauty parlour ke naam se mera parlour hai. Mai Baraut ki rehne wali hoon aur kal maine ek seminar attend kiya Javed Habib Sir ka. Aur unhone on the stage mujhe haircut ke liye invite kiya, aur unhone itna misbehave kiya. Unhone ye dikhaya hai ki agar aapke paas paani na ho to aap apne thook se bhi haircut kara sakte ho. To maine haircut nahi karaya. Mai apni gali ke nukkad ke nai se baal katwa lungi, par kabhi Jawed Habib se nahi.”
Translated to English – “My name is Pooja Gupta. I run a beauty parlour called Vanshika Beauty Parlour, and live in Baraut. Yesterday, I attended a training seminar hosted by Jawed Habib, where he invited her on stage to volunteer for a haircut. But misbehaved a lot with me. He showed that if you don’t have water, you can even use spit for getting a haircut. But I didn’t get a haircut (from him). I would prefer to get my hair cut by a roadside barber, but never by Jawed Habib.”
So far, there has been no reaction from Jawed Habib. The lady has every right to file an FIR against Habib, but it is not known whether that has been done.
Whatever may be Habib’s justification for doing this disgusting act, but it joins a long line of other incidents where criminal-minded elements of his community were found deliberately spitting on eatables like rotis, fruits, bakery products, and even currency notes as a way to harm and dehumanize other communities. Some religious fanatics have even claimed that blowing/spitting into food is a way to ‘bless’ or ‘purify’ it.
The genuine concerns among ordinary Hindus about such sickening acts is being summarily dismissed by propaganda outlets like AltNews. They employ the well-honed tactic of using fake audio/videos, which may very well be planted by their sympathizers, to dismiss genuine cases.
