Bangladesh: Minor Hindu girl abducted, raped in captivity, the Police arrested Rabiul Haque Rayhan 

The persecution of the Hindu minorities continues in Muslim-majority Bangladesh. This time, a case of abduction and rape has been coming in from the Sylhet district of Bangladesh. After receiving the complaint, the Police immediately launched an investigation and nabbed the accused Islamist. 

The arrested Islamist has been identified as Rabiul Haque Rayhan. Rabiul Haque Rayhan is a resident of Biday Sulapani village under the jurisdiction of the Biswanath Police Station. The victim girl,a minor(15) is a resident of Ilimpur village under the jurisdiction of same police station.

As per the complaint, the minor Hindu girl was abducted on the evening of 18th of May, 2025. She was abducted near her home. Her family searched her, but couldn’t find her.

Later, her mother Anika Rani Biswas filed a written complaint in the Biswanath Police Station. The Police continued the search and found the girl on 30th of May. 

During the captivity, the minor Hindu girl was repeatedly raped and tortured. Sources said, Islamist Rabiul Haque Rayhan also allegedly tortured the girl for conversion. 

A police official said, “After receiving the complaint, we have filed an FIR against the accused under the ‘Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act 2000’, section 7/9(a). We launched an investigation and nabbed the accused and recovered the victim.”
