Bangladesh: Cases of Love Jihad and conversion of Hindu girls are rising

Amid continuous persecution of the Hindu minorities, cases of Love Jihad and conversion of Hindu girls are rising nowadays. In the last two weeks, 3 Hindu girls were converted to Islam.

Two Hindu girls from Daudpur village under Dakshin Surma Upazila of Sylhet district had been converted to Islam by their teacher. The girls were sisters.

Suchana Rani Nath and Purna Rani Nath were sisters. Their parents sent them to coaching teacher Abul Kalam for better education. But, the teacher brainwashed them to convert.

Her parents alleged, “The teacher taught them about Islam, taught them Arabic and Islamic rituals instead of school subjects. When we came to know about this, it was too late. When we objected, they left us. They married madrasa students.”

Another case of Love Jihad and conversion has come from Mithaganj of Patuakhali district. A Hindu named Proma Rani has become a victim of Love Jihad. She later converted to Islam and married a Muslim youth.

In both cases, the families of the girls filed complaints. But, the Police failed to recover the girls because the girls are not minors.

Hindu activists are saying that several organisations are working in Bangladesh to brainwash and convert Hindu minorities. They are explicitly targeting Hindu girls. In almost every district and town, Dawah Centres have been set up and several Islamic NGOs are funding them. Only anti-conversion law can stop this Love Jihad and conversion racket.
