Awakening of Hindu Samaj: Sulewadi village bans entry of anti-Dharmic political parties that supported Waqf

Maharashtra’s Sulewadi village has shown the way for the Hindu Samaj when it comes to standing up for Dharma. The Sulewadi Gram Panchayat has banned political parties that support the Waqf Board from entering.

Sulewadi village bans entry of anti-Dharmics

Sulewadi Village is located in Nashik’s Sundarpur District. The Sulewadi Gram Panchayat erected a board barring entry of anti-Dharmic parties. “All the anti-Dharmic parties that supported the Waqf Board are barred from entering the village. They would be solely responsible for whatever happens to them if they enter the village by ignoring the warning. Only those who are truly Hindutvawadis will support the bill,” read the Marathi hoarding.

Hindus are no longer ready to surrender to ‘secular’ forces meekly. Hindu Samaj is also demanding accountability from politicians who think they can get away by being anti-Hindu to please their Muslim votebank.

When the Hindu Samaj stood up for Dharma

While Sulewadi has shown how to deal with anti-Hindu politicians, there have been several instances in the past when Hindus stood up for Dharma.

We present a snapshot of some incidents where the Hindu Samaj fought back to save Dharma:

In 2020, it was reported that six Hindus bravely confronted a 400-strong Christian Evangelist group in Andhra Pradesh. The Evangelist group was trying to carry out a procession through the bazaar of a village. Hindus were relentless and ensured that the evangelists left the place, which is a Hindu area.

Christian missionaries who were proselytizing and indulging in conversion activities at the Perunthalaiyur Bhavani river near the Shiva Mandir located at Erode District’s Appakudal Town were confronted and chased away by Hindus.

Hindu organizations have also taken it upon themselves to ensure that Hindus are saved from Islamists and Evangelists. Hindu activists confronted Javed and Arman of Arsh Salon in Pune’s Kothrud. The duo are accused of forcing a Hindu girl to read the Kalma in a bid to convert her to Islam.

In several villages in Uttarakhand, the Hindu Samaj has banned the entry of non-Hindus and Rohingya Muslims. The decision came amid concerns of rising crime and the involvement of outsiders in heinous cases in Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand.

In August 2023, around 50 village panchayats in Southern Haryana’s three districts — Rewari, Mahendergarh and Jhajjar – released identically worded letters barring entry of Muslim Traders in the villages. The decision came after the Nuh communal violence targeting Hindu devotees carrying out the Kavad Yatra.

In 2018, Kesalingayapalli, a village in Andhra Pradesh, was in the news for becoming a “Hindus Only” village. The villagers erected a board at the entrance which said, “As all the villagers here are Hindus, other religious faiths should not do religious propagation here. If anyone tries to break this, strict actions will be taken. From Kesalingayapalli Villagers…Changing Religion is akin to changing mother.”

Similar bans on the entry of Christian missionaries have been placed by the Hindu Samaj in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar,  Gujarat’s Navsari, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Hindu Samaj has realised that ‘धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः’ (Dharma protects those who protect it). The entire shloka reads धर्म एव हतो हन्ति धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः । तस्माद्धर्मो न हन्तव्यो मा नो धर्मो हतोऽवधीत् – Manusmriti Chapter 8, Verse 15, meaning “If protected, Dharma protects; if slain, it slays; therefore I shall never renounce Dharma; lest Dharma, being slain, may slay ourselves”.

Hindu Samaj is now waking up and following this tenet while fighting the conversion mafia, both Islamic and Christian. Additionally, the Hindu Samaj has realised that anti-Dharmics, who endorse and support these conversion mafias, are equally dangerous. This awakening has led the Hindu Samaj to put Dharma ahead of everyone and everything and stand up for it at all costs. Hindu Samaj across Bharat must take a leaf out of Sulewadi and stand up for Dharma.
