In yet another case of love jihad (grooming jihad), Jitu Shaikh of Surat’s Mahavir College was beaten up by angry locals after they came to know that he had clicked obscene pictures of three Hindu girls after taking them to Oyo Rooms.

The case came to light after Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) workers conducted a sting operation against Shaikh. Angry locals beat him up inside the campus after learning of his indecent act. The incident took place on Wednesday (November 23) and no police complaint has been filed according to reports.

VHP received a complaint of love jihad from Mahavir College students. They learned that some Hindu girls were being blackmailed by Shaikh. A sting operation was conducted to verify the authenticity of the claim which they found to be true. It came to light that Jitu Shaikh had created fake profiles to chat with Hindu girls. “Muslim boys often create fake profiles on social media to chat with Hindu girls and some even trap these girls in an affair”, said VHP Treasurer Dinesh Navadia.

In the sting video, Jitu Shaikh claimed that he had three Hindu girlfriends and confessed he had clicked obscene pictures of the girls after taking them to OYO Rooms. He even named the girls and said though earlier they were just friends now their ‘relationship’ has grown. Shaikh claimed he had two nude photos of one of the girls whom he often took with him to OYO.

As per reports, two more Muslim students involved in grooming were also identified. Muslim students have been accused of targeting Hindu girls in a planned manner. Following this incident, Dinesh Navadia said they would take steps to stop love jihad cases across the country. At the same time, Mahavir University PRO Mehul said, “we have learned of the incident and have constituted a committee to inquire into the matter. Action would be taken against those found guilty. We aren’t certain if the boys belong to our college”.

Hindu society has reason to be wary of the likes of Jitu Shaikh as allegedly 300 cases of love jihad were filed in Surat’s Sarthana police station alone. According to Vishwa Umiya Dham Foundation’s President RP Patel, complaints of 300 Patidar girls being trapped by jihadis were registered with the Sarthana police.

He also called upon community elders to become aware of the fact that jihadis are enticing and trapping Patidar girls in ‘love affairs’ if the community were to avoid a very large problem. Earlier, he had appealed to CM Bhupendra Patel to make the sign of the mother or father compulsory in the girl’s marriage registration. He opines this would put an end love jihad cases in Patidar and other communities.

Hindus have become wary and residential societies have put up banners saying shops and houses wouldn’t be rented to non-Hindus. “In the Varachha area of Surat, such banners were seen on the gates of 10 to 12 societies including the Mira Nagar societies. The banners clearly state that ‘non-Hindus are trapping Hindu sisters and daughters in the area in love jihad and due to this reason our ladies are not safe from non-Hindus in this area’. Therefore it is written in the banner that no shops or houses should be rented to non-Hindus”, reports OpIndia.

“Non-Hindus are coming here after being deported from other states and the youths of such bad mentality are making the Hindu sisters and daughters victims of their own bad mentality by doing the same here. Due to this, the residents of the society have decided to put up banners and warn them not to rent shops or houses to non-Hindus in this area from now on”, the website quoted VHP City President Kamlesh Kayada.
