Shilpa, who was in ‘love’ with a Muslim youth Shakeel, murdered her husband, Sunil, with the help of Shakeel and his friend Yadvindra. The police arrested the woman, Shakeel, and his friend Yadvindra in case of murder. Investigations indicate this is yet another case of love jihad.
The case was reported from Ramsingh Colony of Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh Town, where Shilpa lived with her three children and husband Sunil. Everything was going well. She worked in a coaching center named Fortune Coaching Center, and her husband, Sunil, was supporting his family by selling vegetables. However, things changed when she met and ‘fell in love’ with Shakeel.
During interrogation, the fact came to light that Mohammad Shakeel was preparing to go abroad and came in touch with Shilpa at the Fortune Coaching Center located in Dhanmondi Town, where she worked at the reception desk. They got to know one another during this time, and later, the two had a physical relationship. Shilpa devised a plan to settle abroad with Shakeel in the future and deposit her husband Sunil Khemka’s assets and money in the bank. To make her dream of settling with Shakeel a reality, she decided to get rid of her spouse.
On October 18, Shilpa made her husband unconscious by mixing intoxicating pills in milk, and as part of the planning, her lover Shakeel and Shakeel’s friend Yadavindra Singh both entered Sunil’s house late at night and first attacked Sunil with knives. Subsequently, they hung Sunil to make it look like a case of suicide and robbery.
While Shilpa and Shakeel were planning to run away abroad after the murder of her husband, Shilpa had given rupees fifty thousand to Yadvindra for her husband’s murder. On the night of the murder, she gave forty-five thousand rupees kept with her husband to Shakeel so that the case looked like that of a robbery.
The police presented the three accused, including the wife of the deceased and his Muslim boyfriend Shakeel, in the court on Saturday. On the orders of the court, the Town police station sent Shilpa (35), wife of deceased Sunil Kumar Khemka (38), and her accomplices to judicial custody.
