“Millions of Afghans made Pakistan home to escape war. Now many are hiding to escape deportation”, AP News, April 28, 2024:

“Born and raised in Pakistan to parents who fled neighboring Afghanistan half a century ago, an 18-year-old found himself at the mercy of police in Karachi who took his cash, phone and motorbike, and sent him to a deportation center.

Scared and bewildered, he spent three days there before he was sent back to Afghanistan, a place he has never been to, with nothing but clothes on his back.

The youth is one of at least 1.7 million Afghans who made Pakistan their home as their country sank deeper into decades of war. But they’ve been living there without legal permission, and are now the target of a harsh crackdown on migrants who Pakistan says must leave……”

Kerala Muslim woman is on a mission against Shariat Law. It’s a do-or-die inheritance battle

“Kerala Muslim woman is on a mission against Shariat Law. It’s a do-or-die inheritance battle”, The Print, May 1, 2024:

“Safiya PM from Kerala’s Alappuzha is a woman on a mission. She doesn’t believe in Islam but she is just not able to exit the choke of Shariat law. She now wants the Supreme Court to declare her a non-believer too.

It is the first step toward her only daughter inheriting all of her assets—Shariat law allows only half of it to go to her, and the other half will go to Safiya’s brother. At a time when the Uniform Civil Code is a hot-button political issue, Safiya’s case contributes to the debate about discriminatory elements of Muslim Personal Law toward women.

She wants the court to remedy the fact that non-believers are subject to the personal law of the religion they were born into. Her entry point into the issue is inheritance rights. She can only avail of the secular Indian Succession Act 1925 if the apex court declares her a non-believer…..”

KA govt appoints “Yesuraj” as AEO of Kukke Subrahmanya Temple

In a development that has sparked intrigue within the Hindu community, Yesuraj, has been appointed as the Assistant Executive Officer (AEO) at the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, a revered site of worship for Hindus. Based on the reports from Hosa Kannada, this appointment has raised questions and discussions among devotees regarding the significance and implications of having a non-Hindu individual in a key administrative position at such a sacred place.

For generations, the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple has stood as a symbol of Hindu faith and spirituality, attracting devotees from far and wide to seek blessings and divine intervention. The temple holds immense religious significance, dedicated to Bhagwan Subrahmanya.

The appointment of Yesuraj as the AEO signifies a departure from the tradition of having devout Hindus oversee the affairs of the temple. This decision has evoked mixed reactions among the Hindu community, with some expressing concerns about the potential dilution of the temple’s sacred atmosphere and the preservation of Hindu customs and rituals.

However, proponents of this appointment argue that competence and administrative acumen should supersede religious affiliations in such roles. They believe that Yesuraj’s experience and expertise gained from his previous service in the Revenue Division of the Ramanagara district make him well-suited for the responsibilities entrusted to him.

Endowment minister Ramalinga Reddy tweeted

After the news spread on social media, Endowment Minister Ramalinga Reddy countered the narrative. He vehemently opposed the notion that the appointment of Yesuraj, citing him as a Christian, was a strategy by the BJP. Minister Reddy clarified that Yesuraj is Hindu and hails from a backward class background. Indeed, the actual truth behind the controversy is still awaiting disclosure.

Status of other Hindu temples in Bharat

This incident is not an isolated case in India, as similar occurrences have been reported before. For instance, in a parallel situation happened last year, Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy was appointed as the Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board, succeeding former MP YV Subba Reddy after his two-term tenure concluded. The announcement of Karunakar’s appointment sparked considerable backlash from Hindus and opposition parties. Like his predecessor, Karunakar Reddy is also suspected of having affiliations with Christianity. This development has raised concerns among Hindus, particularly in Andhra Pradesh, where the community faces challenges from Christian evangelism. Tirupati holds profound significance for Hindus worldwide, making such appointments contentious. Despite the TTD’s service regulations stipulating that its employees must be practicing Hindus, instances of non-Hindus being employed there have been observed in the past.

“NewsClick used funds received from China for weapons to incite violence in anti-CAA protests, routed money from USA to Teesta Setalvad”, Opindia, May 2, 2024:

“Fresh and explosive revelations have come to the fore in the NewsClick case as witnesses who have worked with the media portal have made some shocking statements during the investigation. Witnesses who were employed by the alleged media house said that they were instructed to provoke Muslims to engage in violence and riots. They received cash to distribute to protesters during the anti-CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) and Shaheen Bagh demonstrations.

Furthermore, witnesses have stated that rioters obtained proceeds from China through the media platform to purchase firearms for unrest and arson. Money was also handed over to people in Kashmir to create insurrection, as per a report by India Today based on the chargesheet filed by the police.

These protected witness testimonies were recorded in court under section 41 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and are also included in the chargesheet that the Delhi Police recently submitted and cognizance has been taken on the same……”

Man flees after pronouncing triple talaq to wife in moving train

triple talaq

In a shocking incident, a man gave triple talaq to his wife in a moving train and then fled, the police said.

The incident occurred just before the Jhansi Junction on April 29 when Mohammad Arshad, 28, was travelling with his wife Afsana, 26.

As the train chugged into the Jhansi station, Arshad gave triple talaq to his wife and got off the train. He also beat his wife before fleeing.

Shocked by the sudden turn of events, Afsana contacted the Government Railway Police, which sent her back to Pukhrayan in Kanpur Dehat, from where she had boarded the train for Bhopal, earlier that day.

An FIR was finally lodged and a manhunt launched for the accused.

Arshad, a computer engineer employed with a private firm in Bhopal, had married Afsana, a graduate hailing from Kota in Rajasthan, on January 12 this year.

The match was made through a matrimonial advertisement.

When the couple visited Arshad’s ancestral house in the Pukhrayan last week, Afsana was shocked to find that Arshad was already married.

When she confronted him, he and his mother began to harass her for dowry, according to the complaint.

This continued until Arshad finally pronounced the triple talaq and disappeared after abandoning her on the train.

In a video that has since gone viral, Afsana has appealed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to help her and also take action against such people who divorce women and abandon them.

Circle Officer (CO) Priya Singh said that based on the woman’s complaint, a case has been registered against her husband Arshad, his maternal uncle Aqeel, father Nafeesul Hasan, and mother Parveen.

“The matter will be investigated, and action will be taken,” the CO added.

Brutal trolling of class 10th UP board topper Prachi Nigam over facial hair amidst hyper sexualization of kids through social media

What kind of response does one expect to the news of a teenager topping the class 10th board exams? What kind of a silly question it is, you would wonder. A student topping board exams would obviously get praise, adulation, and widespread media coverage.

Only that in the case of Prachi Nigam, the topper of class 10th Uttar Pradesh board exams, the widespread media coverage came equipped with nasty social media trolls.

Prachi Nigam from Sitapur topped the class 10th UP Board exams by securing 98.5 percent marks. Yet, the netizens seemed not as impressed by her achievements as they were concerned about her facial hair. The teenager was brutally trolled across various social media platforms over her appearance in the picture shared by media publications.

Now, many teenage girls have a little bit of facial hair. It’s not a big deal. It’s the time of hormonal change and mostly, these things get sorted, by the time one enters adulthood. When I was in school, we didn’t have the culture of teenagers getting their eyebrows and upper lip done, or getting facial hairs removed. We were lucky to enjoy our childhood like children; social media hadn’t yet entered our lives to sexualize us and make us conscious about our identity as females. Thus, back in those days, schoolgirls sporting a bit of facial hair wasn’t a deal for anyone. I mean it’s just so silly and shallow and pointless to talk about such a thing.

But circa 2024, it’s the age of social media; teenagers, unfortunately, have already been overtly sexualized. From 12–14-year-old girls making suggestive reels on Instagram sporting vulgar outfits to 16–18-year-olds posting reels that could very well qualify as soft pornography, social media now is a dangerous space for children and teenagers. No wonder then that a class 10th topper would get trolled over her supposed unkempt appearance rather than being celebrated over her achievements.

From people brutally making fun of her to others advising the teenager that securing marks is ok but grooming is equally important, it’s hard to believe all this is happening in the 21st century. Looking at the comments, one feels as if we exist in some kind of a hyper-primitive dystopia that looks at women merely as objects of sexual gratification, so much so that it doesn’t even spare children. The media should have been talking about Prachi Nigam’s achievements and initiated a greater dialogue over further increasing women’s share in education and employment. But it’s sad that instead, it’s comments over the child’s facial hair that are making headlines.

Even those pretending to be well-meaning are giving unsolicited advice to Prachi Nigam and her family regarding the probability of her having PCOD and that they shouldn’t take it lightly. This is the most obnoxious extreme of objectification of women. Why does a woman’s self-worth have to be always linked with her looks and sexual desirability in the marketplace of voyeurs?  Getting millions of hateful comments over some random facial hair is the last thing Prachi Nigam and her family would have expected. Yet, this is what she gets. It signifies our collective failure as a society and the overtaking of our social fabric by woke culture.

The woke culture presents itself as the biggest supporter of women’s rights and empowerment. Yet, ironically enough, all it does is throw women further down the dark and dingy hole of tribal cannibalism – where women are not just viewed as objects of sexual gratification by society, but they themselves go around marketing their sexual value in the market of predators, asking to be consumed.

This is the greatest disservice woke culture has done to the cause of women. In the name of feminism, it is serving women as commodities in the marketplace of capitalist fetishes. That is why woke intellectuals support pornography, keep raving about free sex, see marriage as essentially exploitative, and denounce all Bharatiya culture and traditions. The real important issues like women’s participation in the workforce, the issue of women breaking the glass ceiling in hitherto male-dominated professions, giving women equal access to education, the health status of women, etc. get neglected. That’s why you see millions of Bharatiya teenage women on social media wasting time shooting provocative reels of themselves and posting these on social media, grooming themselves as objects of sexual gratification and desire rather than focusing on studies and building a solid career.

That’s why a class 10th topper with 98.5 percent marks gets attention for all the wrong reasons on such platforms. It’s beyond shameful that we should have been having a discussion on such a topic. A young girl who should have been celebrating her achievements with her family members and planning her future course of studies has to waste her time and energy thinking about the unwanted trolls.

She is a child after all, and such hateful comments amplified through social media do have an impact on a child’s psychology. That’s why she even reportedly said “I wish I had not topped”. Such a statement by a board exam topper speaks volumes of her collective failure as a society.

But Prachi Nigam is a gutsy child who refuses to let the trolls take away her success and achievements. Prachi Nigam gave a befitting reply to trolls in an interview with ANI. She said that she was not bothered by the trolls because what ultimately mattered was her marks and not her appearance. She said that for those who don’t understand the difference between soorat (physical appearance) and seerat (inner beauty), I have nothing to say to them, it’s their views but I am just focusing on my studies.  She said that she received both trolls and support for her appearance ever since her picture went viral, and she wants to thank everybody. Prachi further added that even Chanakya was trolled for his appearance and looks but it didn’t matter to him either.

Social media with its porous boundaries and virtual absence of any censorship regarding content has become a source of concern when it comes to the safety of children. Many countries have banned social media for kids under 13. A few western countries are considering regulating or outrightly banning social media for kids.

The UK government, for instance, has taken many steps, to ensure the safety of kids in the virtual space. The country passed the Online Safety Act in 2023 which makes it mandatory for social media to protect minors from harmful content. The act lays out a stringent mechanism for imposing fines on social media companies, in case of violation.

A 14-year-old British teenager Molly Russell committed suicide in 2017. A British court, in a unique ruling, held social media responsible for the death of the teenager. Molly Russel reportedly interacted with more than 2,000 social media posts related to suicide, self-harm, and depression in the 6-month time frame leading to her death.

The misuse of social media platforms for the sexual abuse of children and teenagers has become a pertinent topic of discussion worldwide. Authorities worldwide are alarmed by the range of complaints coming in regarding the issue. The social media giant Meta estimates about 100,000 children using Instagram and Facebook receive online sexual harassment material each day, including “pictures of adult genitalia”, as per the internal company documents of Meta made public in January 2024.

These figures were widely reported by numerous media organizations including The Guardian in the wake of a spate of allegations against Meta based on information the New Mexico Attorney General’s office received from presentations by Meta employees and communications between staff.

These examples are just the tip of the iceberg. Social media has become a dangerous space where children and teenagers are routinely bullied and sexualized. It is in the context of this ecosystem that one needs to look at the treatment meted out to the UP-Board class 10th topper Prachi Nigam. It’s great that Prachi had the support of family and well-wishers to fall back upon. So she didn’t let the trolls affect her mental health. But the issue raises a lot of questions about media ethics and privacy. How appropriate it is to share the picture of a school topper child millions of times on social media platforms to make some sensational comments and garner publicity? There are no rules governing social media so anybody can get away with anything. Social media influencers are always on the lookout for new and sensational ways to get more views and publicity even if that involves crossing lines of decency and good conduct.

Again, like we say always, social media is a wild unregulated mass of chaos that is in urgent need of stringent government regulations.

WaPo’s Bharatiya assassination article is a shot across the bow by American Intelligence Agencies

0

The American Establishment is continuing to meddle in India’s democratic process in order to signal to Prime Minister Modi that it no longer approves of his leadership in spite of the likelihood that he’ll win re-election.

The Washington Post (WaPo) published a detailed report earlier this week about how “An assassination plot on American soil reveals a darker side of Modi’s India”, which cites current and former US and Indian officials to shed more light on the greatest crisis in Indo-US ties in a generation. Last November, the Justice Department alleged that an unnamed Indian official conspired to assassinate a Delhi-designated terrorist-separatist on US soil with dual American citizenship, which India vehemently denied.

The US’ permanent bureaucracy (“deep state”) loves leaking to WaPo so its latest report should be seen as the American Establishment firing a shot across the bow against India. It doesn’t matter what one thinks about its veracity or lack thereof since the significance rests in the messages being sent through these means. Chief among them is the claim that the former foreign intelligence chief authorized this mission with approval from the National Security Advisor and a wink from the Prime Minister.

It’s also scandalous that WaPo claimed to have spoken to unnamed Indian officials, which is meant to stoke divisions within the premier’s inner circle and impugn the integrity of his security services. Another narrative weaved within their article is that Prime Minister Modi has transformed India from a democracy into a dictatorship within eight years and is now assassinating dissidents abroad. Crucially, this is being spewed during India’s ongoing elections, thus possibly manipulating voters’ perceptions.

Therein lies the most important message being sent by the “deep state” to India. The American Establishment is continuing to meddle in India’s democratic process in order to signal to Prime Minister Modi that it no longer approves of his leadership in spite of the likelihood that he’ll win re-election. His refusal to subordinate India to the US as its junior partner by not condemning and sanctioning Russia nor joining AUKUS+’s NATO-like containment of China was unforgivable in their eyes.

Likewise, the US’ ruling liberalglobalists despise his conservativenationalist policies at home, which is why their media proxies have taken to fearmongering that he’s a “fascist” and trying to provoke regional divisions during the ongoing election. Relatedly, some American conservative-nationalists are also being manipulated into thinking that his planned border fence with Myanmar is anti-Christian, which is meant to generate bipartisan support for possible sanctions pressure during his likely third term.

As Indo-US ties deteriorate alongside Indo-Sino ones, Sino-US ties are becoming comparatively more manageable than at any time in the recent years, which is why some Indians suspect that those two are negotiating a deal for a “new normal” between them that’ll inevitably be at their country’s expense. This perception was elaborated on in this analysis here from early April that interested readers should review to learn more about the reasons behind it.

The purpose in being aware of this viewpoint is to better understand the damage that WaPo’s latest “deep state”-connected report inflicted on bilateral relations. Indian suspicions of American intentions had already reached levels unseen since the US imposed sanctions on their country following its nuclear tests in 1998. The past two-and-a-half decades’ worth of hard-earned trust evaporated in an instant after this article abruptly ended the “golden age” in their relations and presaged the coming of a dark future.

The only chance of repairing the damage that was just done is if Trump returns to power and succeeds in purging his “deep state” of the liberal-globalists that are responsible for ruining relations with India among their own follies over the past four years. Unless that happens, and neither his re-election nor the success of his envisaged institutional reforms can be taken for granted, then a period of intense Indo-US competition is expected as these former partners transform into “frenemies” in the New Cold War.

Voting for Ajmal, Hussain is like ‘expecting milk from male cow’: Assam CM

During campaigning in Dhubri, a Muslim-majority Lok Sabha constituency in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday came down heavily on sitting All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MP Badruddin Ajmal and Congress nominee Rakibul Hussain.

Voting for Ajmal and Hussain will be like “expecting milk from a male cow”, the Chief Minister said.

He claimed that a triangular contest will take place between the candidates of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), AIUDF and Congress in the third phase of general elections on May 7.

Speaking at public events in Golakganj, Bilasipara, and Gauripur, Chief Minister Sarma affirmed that AGP, the BJP’s ally, is gaining support in regions where they were previously lacking any influence among the people.

At a public meeting in Golakganj, he said, “People have realised that Ajmal’s time in Dhubri is over, and they don’t need Rakibul,” emphasising a decline in support for the AIUDF and Congress in the area.

With 13 candidates and more than 2.6 million voters, the political race is mostly between AIUDF’s Badruddin Ajmal, Congress’ Rakibul Hussain, and AGP’s Javed Islam.

CM Sarma took a jibe at Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over her “Mafia raj” remark.

He said, “Priyanka Gandhi has not seen the mafia raj days during the Congress rule. Today there is no bomb blast, no bullet firing, no ULFA, no NDFB in the state, there was only mafia raj of Rokibul Hussain.”

The Chief Minister also asserted that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi have no support among the people of Assam.

Reacting to Sarma’s statement, Congress candidate Rakibul Hussain criticised the Assam Chief Minister, saying he had changed his stance following the first phase of polling in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Hussain claimed that Sarma’s newfound interest in Dhubri arose from his recognition that the BJP was not receiving enough support from other communities.

TMC MLA Humayun Kabir threatened to drown Hindus in the Bhagirathi River, the video went viral: West Bengal

0
kabir

TMC MLA Humayun Kabir openly threatened Hindus with dire consequences if they did not behave ‘rightly.’ In an undated video, he made hateful remarks about the Hindus of the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Notably, the Hindus are the minority community in the Murshidabad district.

Humayun Kabir said, “We are 70 per cent here; you are 30 per cent. If you do not behave here, I can throw you in the Bhagirathi river within two hours.” He further said, “You are the majority in the area, that’s why you people broke a mosque in Kazipara. What do you think? Muslim brothers of the rest of the district will remain silent? Never. I want to tell this to the people of BJP.”

Recently, on the occasion of Ram Navami, the Beldanga area of the Murshidabad district saw anti-Hindu violence. Islamic radicals attacked the Ram Navami Shobhayatra in Beldanga. Country-made crude bombs were hurled at the Shobha Yatra. Hindus retaliated. Later, a huge police force reached the area and controlled the situation. However, Hindus alleged that the Police failed to give them justice.

This is not the first time TMC MLA Humayun Kabir has been at the center of controversy. He previously sparked internal conflicts by opposing the nomination of former cricket player Yusuf Pathan for the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat, dismissing him as an “outsider.” Additionally, Kabir’s calls for increased Muslim representation within the party ranks have led to further discord.
