“Jothika who lectured People to prioritise Hospitals over Temples vacays in Nepal instead of voting”, The Commune Mag, April 23, 2024:

“Why did Jyothika, despite being eligible to vote in Chennai, choose to skip voting this time? Netizens slammed actor Suriya’s wife Jyothika for sharing a video of her enjoying a trip in Nepal on the day of the parliamentary election.

The parliamentary elections in Tamil Nadu commenced at 7 am on 19 April 2024 and concluded just after 6 pm. Since dawn, the public, celebrities, politicians – everyone participated eagerly, casting their votes. These elections are set to occur in seven phases across India, encompassing over 500 constituencies. Yesterday marked the completion of the first phase in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Many leading actors and actresses even postponed their shoots to fulfill their civic duty. Notably, actor Vijay flew back from the ‘G.O.A.T’ shoot in Russia just to cast his vote. Similarly, actor Ajith arrived at the polling booth in the morning as soon as voting began…..”

Know Islam to prevent Love Jihad

“Know Islam to prevent Love Jihad”, Swadharma, April 24, 2024:

“I had compiled the following five years ago and posted it as a comment on Facebook. Today, a stricter artificial intelligence, Muslim fact-checkers based in Hyderabad or a gang of Muslims and communists who follow me may get me banned on Facebook if I post it again — although these are truthful citations from the Qur’an, one of the three pillars of Islam that every Muslim must adhere to.

There may be small sects of Muslims that do not take the Ahadith (plural of “hadith“) seriously, as scholars say that the compilation of speeches and deeds of Prophet Mohammed has an error margin of 3,500; that is, 3,500 of the quotes by Mohammed or his constant companions’ recollections of what he did in his life might be false attributions. For example, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, the founder of Aligarh Muslim University, said openly that he followed the Qur’an alone and did not trust the Ahadith.

The third pillar of Islam is the Shari’ah, the legal code of the religion. Some so-called moderate Muslims say the code militates against the values of modernity and so they would not swear by it…..”

“KREEDA — Uncovering the games of ancient India”, Sampadananda Mishra, April 23, 2024:

“Sports and games have always played a significant role in human culture, serving as a source of recreation, community bonding, and even spiritual expression. In ancient India, sports held an essential place in society, integrated into education and daily life. Contrary to popular belief, games like polo, tennis, football, and cricket are not modern inventions; ancient India had a rich tradition of sports that not only entertained but also helped to maintain physical fitness and social cohesion.

Ancient Indian texts such as the Harivansha, Varnaratnākara, Manasollasa, and many other texts contain detailed descriptions of hundreds of sports, showcasing the depth and diversity of games played in bygone eras. These texts suggest that sports were not only a source of amusement but also a crucial aspect of religious and cultural festivities. The Shrimad Bhagavatam, an epic narrative describing the life of Bhagavan Krishna, includes several instances of sports and games in its stories, illustrating how they were in practice in ancient Indian society.

To better understand the types of sports in ancient India, we can categorize them into four groups…..”

Congress 2024 manifesto, Communist manifesto of China?

“Congress 2024 manifesto, Communist manifesto of China?”, New Indian, April 23, 2024:

“The Congress party duly deserves credit for opening up the Indian economy in 1991, which paved the way for growth, development, jobs, and prosperity. The party, in its 2024 parliamentary elections manifesto, could have dedicated at least a whole page to how the Narasimha Rao government turned around the India story from a basket case to a potential power. But it wrapped up Rao’s accomplishments in just one paragraph in the manifesto. Sonia Gandhi would not approve of glorifying Rao and, more importantly, the party would tie itself in knots if it looked back at its policies both pre- and post-economic liberalization and compared them with its proposed contradictory ideas in the latest manifesto.

If it regains its political fortunes and comes back to power, as per the Congress manifesto of 2024, the party will ensure equality and equity in India and create a socialist utopia. It “will establish an authority to monitor the distribution to the poor of government land and surplus land under the land ceiling Acts” and “address the growing inequality of wealth and income through suitable changes in policies.”

In other words, the Congress party will ensure that all land and property come under the control of the state and are redistributed among everyone (including all the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Rohingyas) equally. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is therefore not wrong in inferring from the Congress manifesto that the party seeks to economically demolish the competition, talent, innovators, hardworking wealth creators and taxpayers who form the backbone of the Indian economy. It will undo the individual prosperity earned by ordinary Indians with their blood and sweat……”

Sahjad & Danish: Thieves from Uttarakhand who tried to escape after shooting the police brought to Aluva, Kerala

0

Sahjad (33) and Danish (23), natives of Uttarakhand, who escaped to Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Rajasthan, after committing dacoities in Aluva, Kerala and tried to flee by firing arms at the police there, were brought to Aluva and taken for collecting evidence. They stole gold ornaments and money from vacant houses in Aluva and decamped with 38 sovereigns of gold and Rs 33,000 in cash.

HinduPost reported in late February that two thieves opened fire on the Kerala Police officials who went to Ajmer to investigate a robbery case. The incident took place inside Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Rajasthan. Following the altercation, Sharan Kamale Gopinath, an IPS officer from Ajmer, was injured.

Ernakulam District Police Chief Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS (a 2016 Kerala cadre IPS officer from Lucknow) is supervising the case and collecting evidence. The accused described their modus operandi for theft and how they escaped from Kerala.

Sajad is driving an autorickshaw in Rampur, Dehradun Uttarakhand. Danish, a labourer, also came to work in Kerala during the 2018 floods. Danish, who returned home, informed Sajad that Keralites keep gold ornaments in their houses. Later, the two arrived together and planned robberies.

The duo bought two guns from Bihar for twenty-two thousand rupees. On February 5th, they boarded a train from Delhi to Aluva. Upon reaching Aluva on the 8th, the dacoits checked into a lodge. The next day, they vacated the room during the day.

They searched for unoccupied houses that were locked from the outside. Meanwhile, the gang also stole a motorcycle from a playground in Mudikkal, Aluva and moved around in that vehicle.

At night, they zeroed in on a house in Kuttamassery, Aluva. They stole the house by opening the lock with a few tools. (Two handguns, seven live rounds, a magazine, a niqab, and a screwdriver were found on them after the accused were apprehended from Ajmer).

The thieves abandoned the stolen bike inside the Aluva transport bus stand premises. Overnight, they stayed at another lodge in Aluva. The next day, they roamed around and robbed two more homes using just the same old simple tools.

After these thefts, the thieves reached Thrissur by bus. From there, the duo boarded a train to Madhya Pradesh, where they attempted robberies, too.

By then, a Special Investigation Team of Aluva police, which identified the accused through scientific investigation, followed them. By the time they reached Madhya Pradesh, the thieves had crossed into Rajasthan. The Kerala police team pursued.

While trying to arrest the accused, from Ajmer at night with the help of Ajmer police, the accused tried to escape by shooting at police officers. Finally, after three hours of hard work, the police overpowered the accused. The accused were remanded in Ajmer and brought to Aluva last day.

Danish is accused in around ten cases, including the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention)Act (Goonda Act), and there are cases in various states, including Kerala. They committed three thefts in Aluva and one in Perumbavoor.

DySP A Prasad, Inspector MM Manju Das, and Sub-Inspector SS Sreelal are investigating under the supervision of District Police Chief Vaibhav Saxena.

Siddaramaiah govt under NCBC fire: Religion-based ‘quota push’ in K’taka vindicates what PM Modi said?

The religion-based ‘reservation push’ in Congress-ruled Karnataka has come under the lens of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), as it has red-flagged its reservation policy, observing that “categorising the whole Muslim population as a backward caste for reservation” will take away the rights of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

The NCBC has taken strong objections to the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government’s reservation policy for admissions in educational institutions and appointments in state government jobs, saying that carving out quota for Muslims within the OBC category will rob the rights of the deserving candidates from the backward classes to get the benefits of reservation.

Notably, this comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi denounced the Congress at a rally in Rajasthan on Sunday, claiming that the party will snatch the wealth and ornaments of the public and redistribute them among the ‘infiltrators’ if voted to power.

A day later, he also accused the previous Congress regimes of trying to bring religion-based reservations for cultivating its Muslim vote bank.

The Karnataka government pushing religion-based quota within the OBC for extending reservations, to Muslims in particular, comes as a direct indictment for the grand old party, which accused PM Modi of communalising the election campaign.

As per the 2011 Census, the percentage of the Muslim population in Karnataka stood at 12.92 per cent.

Notably, the state government’s Backward Classes Welfare Department has categorised the entire castes and communities of the Muslim religion as socially and educationally backward and listed them under a separate Muslim caste under Category II-B.

Moreover, it is already providing reservations to 17 socially and educationally backward communities of Muslims under Category I, and 19 communities under Category IIA.

The NCBC pointed out that such religion-based reservation goes against the ethics and norms of social justice which will ‘set a wrong precedent’.

“The religion-based reservation affects and works against the ethics of social justice for categorically downtrodden Muslim castes/communities and identified socially and educationally backward Muslim castes/communities under Category-I (17 Muslim castes) and Category II-A (19 Muslim castes) of the State List of Backward Classes. Hence, socially and educationally backward castes/communities cannot be treated at par with an entire religion,” the NCBC said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken 400 million (40 crore) people out of poverty and is doing an “unbelievable job” in India, Global banking giant JP Morgan Chase chief executive officer (CEO) Jamie Dimon has said.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Economic Club of New York on Tuesday, Dimon lauded the economic reforms implemented by the Modi government and said some of them could be introduced in the US as well.

“Modi has done an unbelievable job in India. I know the liberal Press here, they beat the hell out of him when he’s taken 400 million people out of poverty,” Dimon remarked.

He complimented PM Modi for his resilience in challenging outdated bureaucratic systems, calling him “tough”.

The leading banker referred to PM Modi as a “tough” administrator for breaking outdated bureaucratic systems in India and said, “We need a little bit more of that here (in the US).”

The 68-year-old banker also lauded India’s GST regime, which he said has removed corruption emanating from the disparity in tax systems followed by different states.

Dimon highlighted India’s advancements in technology and finance, noting the widespread adoption of digital identification and banking services, with over 700 million citizens having bank accounts.

“Every citizen by hand or eyeball or by finger is recognised. They’ve bank accounts for 700 million people. Their transferred payments are going through,” he pointed out.

The banker also praised India’s education system and infrastructure, describing them as “unbelievable.”

Nihad & Anamika

In a case of narcotic jihad, Mattannur police in Kannur district arrested two people, including a woman with methamphetamine (MDMA), from an apartment. Nihad Muhammad (29) of Kannur Thavakkara and Anamika Sudeep, (25) of Pappinisseri, were detained by Mattanur Sub Inspector (SI) RN Prashant.

Police received a tip-off that narcotic drugs were being dealt in from an apartment in Mattannur. They raided the apartment at around 1:30 am on Sunday. Anamika and Nihad were staying in the rented flat. 0.89 grams of MDMA was caught from them.

Police said that the MDMA was kept for personal use and sale. The accused were produced in Kannur court and remanded.

In early March, a young girl and a Muslim youngster were arrested with MDMA in Kozhikode city. They had 49 grams of MDMA in their possession. Shamjad, a native of Nallalam in Kozhikode and Sanjana, a Karnataka native, were arrested. Shamjad works in Karnataka, and Sanjana is just 18 years old.

They were caught from a lodge near Aster MIMS Hospital in the heart of Kozhikode. Sanjana and Shamjad were taken into custody by the medical college police and the narcotic shadow team. Their modus operandi was to bring MDMA from Karnataka to Kozhikode and retail it. The accused focused on hotel rooms in the city.

In the first week of February, three people, including a woman, were arrested for illegally smuggling Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and ganja. KA Suhail (34), hailing from Chavakkad in Thrissur, Anagh Krishna (27), and CS Shikha (39) were arrested from Ganapathyvattom (Sultan Bathery) in Wayanad district.

97.25 grams of ganja and five bottles of IMFL liquor were seized from the Delhi-registered car in which they were travelling. Suhail, Anagh and Shikha were caught following an investigation by the police and the anti-narcotics squad. The police seized the vehicle they were travelling in. The accused were produced in the court and remanded.

Four accused, including a young woman, were arrested with 158 grams of MDMA in Kannur last November. Yasir, his ‘girlfriend’ Aparna, Yasir’s brother Rizwan, and his friend Dilshid, who were residents of Kannur Puthiyatheru, were apprehended. Apart from MDMA, the town police seized 112 grams of hashish oil from them.

Police first arrested Yasir and Aparna from a hotel room in Kannur where they were selling drugs. After interrogating them, the police got the information that Rizwan and Dilshid were the links in drug sales. Later on, they were caught at another hotel.

This seizure was the biggest MDMA hunt in Kannur in recent times. The gang used to smuggle drugs from Bengaluru. After preliminary investigations, police concluded that the gang sold narcotic drugs to many people with an addiction, including students.

Kannur Town Police said that there are more people in Yasir’s gang, and they will investigate this matter as well. Dilshid had a history of selling cannabis and had been arrested earlier.

Most of these ladies and young girls are allegedly addicted to narcotic drugs which makes them vulnerable to narco jihadis. Local media seldom provides details of the case when it involves narcotic jihad. Follow-ups are non-existent. Who are they protecting?

Borabanda, Telangana: Police allegedly remove speakers from Hanuman Temple during Hanuman Jayanti celebrations

April 23 was celebrated as Hanuman Jayanti across the country by Hindus. In Telangana, as reported in The Siasat Daily, Hindu organizations such as Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) were actively preparing for an extensive Hanuman Jayanti procession in Hyderabad/Bhagyanagaram. The procession, spanning a route of 12 kilometers, anticipated a massive turnout of over 10,000 participants.

Hyderabad’s Commissioner of Police, K Sreenivasa Reddy, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace during the celebrations, highlighting the city’s multicultural fabric and urging against any actions that could incite tension. BJP MLA T Raja Singh’s participation in the Dhoolpet procession adds to the event’s significance, showcasing widespread community engagement. As preparations intensified, stores in Begum Bazaar witnessed heightened activity, catering not only to local residents but also to visitors from neighboring districts.

Amidst this, it is alleged that police in Borabanda in Hyderabad/Bhagyanagaram took action by removing speakers from a Hanuman Temple during the Hanuman Jayanti festivities, leading to questions regarding the move’s legality and fairness.

Citizens raised concerns, referencing Supreme Court directives on noise pollution and regulations concerning mosque loudspeakers. Here is a list of judgements the courts have made with regard to use of loudspeakers in public places and at religious events.

In August 2016, the Bombay High Court delivered a verdict asserting that the use of loudspeakers did not constitute a fundamental right. The court emphasized that neither any religion nor sect could assert the right to employ loudspeakers or public address systems as a fundamental entitlement under Article 25 of the Indian Constitution.

On June 26, 2018, the Uttarakhand High Court established a restriction of five decibels for loudspeakers. The court instructed the state government that the utilization of loudspeakers, including during daytime hours, would be subject to the condition that the user assures that the noise level would not surpass five decibels.

In September 2018, the Karnataka High Court prohibited the use of loudspeakers after 10 pm. The court instructed that the standards outlined by the Supreme Court regarding acceptable sound levels must be adhered to when authorities enforce the ban on loudspeakers.

In July 2019, the Punjab and Haryana High Court implemented a ban on the use of loudspeakers in public areas, including religious institutions. The court stipulated that public address systems could only be operated with prior authorization, ensuring that the noise level never surpassed the permissible limit.

On May 15, 2020, the Allahabad High Court ruled that the call to prayer, known as the azaan, could only be recited by a muezzin from mosque minarets using human voice without amplification. The court stated that while the azaan is integral to Islam, using loudspeakers for its recitation does not qualify for protection under Article 25 of the Constitution, subject to public order, morality, and health.

In July 2020, the Uttarakhand High Court amended its previous order from June 2018, which had restricted noise levels to five decibels. This modification effectively allowed the use of loudspeakers in religious institutions in the state. The decision followed an application by the Jama Masjid of Bazpur seeking permission to use loudspeakers.

Moving to January 2021, the Karnataka High Court directed the state government to take action against illegal loudspeakers in religious places. Responding to a PIL petition filed by Girish Bharadwaj, the court instructed the government to issue immediate directives to law enforcement and pollution control authorities to curb the unauthorized use of amplifiers and loudspeakers.

In November 2021, the Karnataka High Court questioned the state government about the legality of allowing loudspeakers in mosques. Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi led a division bench hearing a petition by Girish Bharadwaj regarding sound pollution from mosques in Bengaluru. The petitioner sought effective implementation of laws regulating sound pollution.

Despite all these observations and judgements, police are always seen disrupting Hindu temples and festivities and staying away from other conspicuous settings.
