A minor Hindu girl named Gudi Kolhi, who was abducted by Rustam Junejo a year ago and forcibly converted to Islam and married to him, has managed to escape his clutches and reach home. She was kept imprisoned by Junejo and gangraped by his family during this time.
She approached a police station at Chelhar in Tharparkar district, Sindh after her return.
Gudi said that she was forcibly converted to Islam, and she does not know how to recite kalma (Islamic profession of faith) or offer namaz, as she is a Hindu. “I was forcefully converted to Islam,” she stated.
After every such case of abduction and forced conversion of a Hindu girl, the Islamists and religious extremists release videos showing the girls parroting a script saying ‘they have converted of their own will’.
Recently, we had reported of another similar case where Meena Kolhi managed to make her way back home after 14 months of abduction, forced conversion and gangrape by Mushtaq Bambhro and his sons. Meena’s minor sister Rekha (12), who was abducted along with her, is still in the hands of the Islamists.
Cases like Gudi and Meena are routine occurrences in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, but this issue which would jar the conscience of any civilized nation doesn’t feature in their national discourse at all, and even more shockingly is ignored by the international community including powerful countries like USA and China which consider Pakistan an ally. Even Bharat’s deputy high commissioner to Pakistan Suresh Kumar had recently batted for trade with the Islamofascist nation, flippantly remarking “money speaks its own language”.
Pakistan Darawer Ittehad (PDI), a human rights organization founded by Faqir Shiva Kacchi, assisted Gudi in legal proceedings. She bravely recorded her statement with a magistrate, and the court has ordered that she be handed back to her parents.
But the threat to Gudi has still not ended. Men like Rustam Junejo seldom give up so easily, and have the tacit support of the Pakistani state machinery. PDI has demanded that authorities take action against Junejo and others involved in this heinous crime. SSP Tharparkar has ordered police to register a case against the abductors and arrest them, and has also promised to provide protection to Gudi Kolhi, who is understandably scared for her safety.
