Bangladesh: Unknown miscreants attack five Hindu temples in Sitakund, Murtis vandalised

Attacks on the Hindu temples continue in Bangladesh. Now, five Hindu temples came under attack in one night. After the complaint, the Police are investigating. As of now, the Police couldn’t arrest anyone.

On the night of the 9th of February, unknown miscreants attacked five Hindu temples in the Barabkunda union of Sitakund. They broke all the Murtis of temples.

The temples are an important part of the sacred pilgrimage site Agnikund. Sri Hanuman temple, Shiva temple, Trinath temple, Annapurna temple and Jagannath temple were attacked. All the Murtis of the temples were broken.

A pujari of the temple said, “In the morning, I saw that the Murtis of the temples were vandalised. The Murtis were thrown outside. The Murti of Bhagwan Shiva and Sri Hanuman were completely broken.”

Later, on the evening of the 11th of February, Pujaris of the temples filed a complaint in the Sitakund Police Station against the unknown miscreants. They demanded to identify and arrest the accused.

OC of the Sitakund Police Station, Kamal Uddin, said, “We have received the complaint. We already initiated the investigation. The culprits will be identified and arrested.”
