Bangladesh: Islamist enters ISKCON’s temple in Sitakunda, tries to vandalise the Murti, arrested

Devotees of ISKCON temple of Sitakunda caught an Islamist who entered the temple and tried to vandalise the Murti. 

The arrested Islamist has been identified as Muhammad Zaman. He is a resident of the Barishal district of Bangladesh. 

As per the received information, on the 18th of April morning, a youth entered the ISKCON temple in Sitakunda. Muhammad Zaman concealed his identity and entered the temple. 

An eyewitness said that the arrested youth hid a rod inside his shirt and entered the temple. Suddenly, the youth allegedly took out the rod and attempted to vandalise the Murti. 

But, the devotees there managed to catch the youth. Devotees beat him. During interrogation, the youth said that his name was Muhammad Zaman and he was a Muslim. 

Later, devotees and the temple authorities handed the Islamist over to the Police.
