Bangladesh: Attack on the Saraswati Puja Mandap in Brahmanbaria, the Murti vandalised

Hindu minority community in Bangladesh are facing continuous attack in Bangladesh. Almost everyday, Hindu temples are being attacked. Now, a fresh case has been reported from the Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh.

On the night of 14th of February, unknown miscreants attacked a Saraswati Puja Mandap at Paikpara area of the Brahmanbaria town. Everything was vandalised including the Puja Manadap and the Murti of Maa Saraswati. The head of the Murti was cut and thrown away. Other things were also vandalised.

Next morning, locals saw the vandalised murti lying on the road. As the news spread, locals gathered on the spot.

A local resident said,”Some Hindu youths organised the Puja in the Gangan Saha Road. At night, everyone left. Some miscreants broke the Murti and mandap.”

As of now, a formal complaint has been lodged in the Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station. No one has been arrested so far.
