Bangladesh: A minor girl is gang-raped in a Madrasa in Gopalganj, four teachers arrested

The Police arrested four Madrasa teachers for allegedly gangraping a minor girl student. The incident happened on the 7th of February in a Madrasa.

As per the reports, the minor girl was raped inside the ‘Parijan Begum Women Quami Madrasa’, situated in the Banshberia village under the Muksudpur Upazila of the Gopalganj district.

On the 7th of February night, around 8 PM, the minor girl returned home. The Madrasa authorities sent the girl home, citing that the girl was ill. The parents saw blood stains on her clothes. Upon enquiring, the victim girl told about the torture she faced in the Madrasa.

Immediately, her parents took her to the local hospital. After primary treatment, the victim girl was transferred to the Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.

A doctor said, “The girl has faced brutal sexual torture.”

The Father of the girl said, “I sent my daughter to the Madrasa to get religious education. But on that night, my daughter returned home with blood stains on her clothes. She only said that Hujurs(teachers) did bad things to her. Then she lost her senses. I took her to the hospital. The doctor said that my daughter has been gang-raped.”

Muhammad Ashraful Alam, OC of Muksudpur Police Station, said, “After receiving the complaint, we informed the RAB. The RAB arrested four Madrasa teachers and handed them over to us.”
