Suspected terrorist Suhail arrested in Karnataka; authorities probe Pakistan-linked network and suspected plot to target Ayodhya Ram Mandir

A suspected terror plot targeting the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has come under investigation following the arrest of a 20-year-old Islamist man from Uttar Pradesh in Karnataka’s Davanagere district. The suspect, identified as Islamist Suhail, was apprehended in a joint operation by central intelligence agencies and Davanagere police after he was allegedly found hiding in Bannikodu village while working as a painter to avoid detection.

As per the Public TV reports, according to the police investigation, the accused is suspected of maintaining contact with Pakistan-based terrorist elements through encrypted social media platforms. Investigators have reportedly recovered chat records, international contacts bearing Pakistan’s country code (+92), and alleged links to online terrorism groups under scrutiny for anti-Bharat activities. Authorities are conducting a detailed forensic examination of the seized mobile phone and digital evidence.

Investigators are also examining information indicating that the suspect may have expressed an intention to target the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Officials are working to verify these claims as part of the ongoing investigation. Photographs recovered from the suspect’s mobile phone allegedly show him posing with weapons resembling those used by extremist terrorist groups, adding to the seriousness of the probe.

The arrest follows earlier investigations into other suspects detained in Karnataka this month, during which Suhail’s name reportedly surfaced. He has since been transferred between investigating agencies for further interrogation, and a formal FIR has been registered. Senior police officials have stated that the investigation remains active and that additional evidence is being examined.

The case underscores the continuing threat posed by terrorist networks and highlights the importance of robust intelligence gathering, inter-agency coordination, and swift law enforcement action to prevent acts of terrorism. Any individual found involved in terror-related activities must face the full force of the law, and national security agencies must continue their efforts to dismantle networks that threaten Bharat’s safety and security.

Where is the Chief Minister? Where is D.K. Shivakumar? Where is the Home Ministry? What is happening in Karnataka? Is Karnataka becoming a safe haven for jihadis, extremists, terrorists, and other anti-national elements? Why are the authorities not acting unless there is a red alert from the NIA or central intelligence agencies? If the state government fails to take these threats seriously, it is the people of Karnataka and Bharat who will ultimately suffer. Terrorism and violent extremist ideologies have no place in a democratic society, and every such threat must be dealt with firmly, swiftly, and without compromise under the law. Vote-bank politics or any form of appeasement should never come at the cost of national security. Bharat cannot afford to be at risk from anti-national terrorist elements.
