Bharat’s Dharma and culture have been kept alive by the common people who continue to follow them in their everyday lives. Twitterati Kiran Kumar S shared one such heartwarming story of flower-sellers of Kolhapur.
He put out a tweet saying flower merchants of Kolhapur leave two garlands outside their shops while shutting shop at night. Explaining the reason behind this gesture, Kiran tweeted “In case any family has death, and they can’t wait till the next morning for the shop to open, these would be of use. Subtle but deep focus for the society”.
These are acts of kindness done without expectations that all of us could learn from. Dharma shastras tell us to do our duty without expecting any rewards. The act of the flower sellers exemplifies the teaching of the Bhagavad Gita.
This is the Bharat that keeps Dharma alive and shows the path to the rest of the country. One doesn’t have to go out of the way but simple gestures in whatever manner possible in our everyday lives are all that is needed.
