60 Hindu families have left Joshi Vihar Colony over the past six years due to changing demographics: Haldwani

In Uttarakhand’s Haldwani, a Hindu exodus is taking place due to a significant demographic change that has been happening in the area around Banbhulpura. Muslims from Rampur, Pilibhit, and Swar increasingly settle in Joshi Vihar near Shani Bazar. Over the last six years, 60 Hindu families have left Joshi Vihar, with only three Hindu families remaining. These families have also sold their houses and will be leaving next month.

The road to Shani Bazar, opposite Mandi Gate on Bareilly Road, leads to Joshi Vihar Colony. As you enter the colony through the Raza Gate New Friends Colony, you’ll find houses of Muslim families on both sides of the road. Previously, families like Joshi, Nainwal, Sahu, and Gupta lived here but have now moved to Garh. Only three Joshi families remain in Joshi Vihar, with 150 Muslim families becoming residents.

The migration of people from Joshi Vihar has happened due to various reasons. Some sold their land out of greed, while others were forced to sell due to pressure. Land bought for one lakh rupees is now being sold for one crore. The area faces issues like overflowing drains during the rainy season, with filth flowing in front of houses. Devendra Joshi, grandson of one of the founders of Joshi Vihar, has also sold his ancestral land and house for Rs 50 lakh.

Demographic changes forcing Hindu exodus have been reported repeatedly from across Bharat. Here are some cases of Hindu exodus:

1) An exodus occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad in November 2022. Hindus in the Tila Mohalla area had put up posters of their exodus, claiming they were being harassed by Muslims who wanted to build a Masjid in place of their temple, among other things. They narrated their ordeal, naming Raju Chikna and Aman Khan as the main culprits.

2) In June 2022, an exodus was reported from Narsinghpur District’s Mahajani Tola in Madhya Pradesh (MP). This Muslim-majority area witnessed stone-pelting on Hindus, following which the victims were forced to move out.

3) In April 2022, Communal violence triggered the exodus from Karauli and Khargone with boards of ‘house for sale’ coming up. Testimonies provided by Ram Bhakts of Khargone to Times Now indicated that they were living under fear ever since the Ram Navami violence that rocked several parts of the country. CCTV video footage showed stone-pelting, violence, and arson undertaken by Islamists when the Ram Navami procession was in progress. The rioters were also seen brandishing naked swords in a stark reminder of Khalistani violence during Republic Day.

Such exodus has been regularly reported from across Bharat. There is a deliberate ploy to change the demographics of a place and then force an exodus. Another concept used by Islamists is land jihad. Land jihad isn’t just a case of encroachment but a calculated conspiracy with a perpetuated modus operandi to ensure Hindu exodus and Islamizing the society and/or area. The modus operandi includes buying flats at a higher price than the market price. The lucrative price offered ensures that the Muslims are able to buy the flats. They then go on to harass the non-Muslim population in various ways, including filing false cases if their initial pressure tactics fail to yield the desired results.

Hindu exodus has been systematically taking place from several Muslim-dominated pockets across the country. Bhavnagar, Kairana, Surat, Mumbai’s Malvani, and several others have seen Hindu residents being forced to move out. HinduPost had highlighted the Malvani Land Jihad model, indicating how a conspiracy was afoot to evict and depopulate Hindus.

An Islamist riot-jihad model appears to be at play across the nation to scare Hindus and subsequently force them to leave. The Central and state governments need to step up efforts to ensure the safety and security of Hindus.
