While Tamil media reported that Muslims formed a human chain to allow Hindu devotees to pass peacefully on Panguni Uthiram, Hindu organisations have refuted the claim. Hindu Munnani which went to the spot revealed that only after their intervention Hindu devotees were allowed to pass through the protesting crowd.

It has become norm for Islamists to be an obstruction to Hindus in the first place but claim to be the saviours through media propaganda. It was evident in the incident in Karnataka where Islamists protesting against police attacked a police station and a temple. While it was Islamists who attacked the temple, they had formed a human chain and filmed it to peddle the propaganda that Muslims saved the temple.

In a similar incident in Thanjavur Tamil Nadu Islamists who blocked the road in the first place, claimed to have given way to Hindus and let them pass peacefully. Tamil Nadu Towheed Jamaat had organised a protest against the Karnataka HC’s verdict on wearing hijab in educational institutions in Adirampattinam, Thanjavur. They blocked the road near the bus stand and stopped the traffic.

It was the day of Panguni Uthiram, a special occasion for Tamil Hindus, especially to devotees of Murugan (Skanda). Hindus of the town had taken out a procession carrying milk pots on their heads for abhishekam in the Murugan temple. But as the protesting Islamists had blocked the road they couldn’t pass through. Tamil media reported that Islamists had graciously made way for Hindus and formed a human chain to allow them to pass safely.

However Hindu Munnani revealed that Islamists had actually refused to allow the procession and only after the organisation interfered, they were made to make way. Jamal Usmani, the main speaker in the protest, was arrested by TN police for calling for PM Modi’s death and abusing Karnataka HC judges who gave the hijab verdict. 

Calling the judges gau mutra drinkers for giving the verdict, he said “Is this justice? It is injustice! The judgement is such that women will beat the 3 judges who wrote it with chappals. They are sitting there(in Karnataka) coolly after giving such a verdict. But if we get hold of them we will beat them with chappals”.

Similar to how the Islamist in Madurai protest had threatened the judges with murder and said that he is not afraid of the consequences, Jamal Usmani also said, “We will not fear anything/anyone other than our religion. Muslims are not afraid of death. We will respect you if you give verdicts in line with the constitution. But if you bend justice, read what’s written by Modi, we won’t respect you. We don’t worry about the consequences.”

He further asked the judges whether they eat food or something else. “How did you know that hijab is not an essential religious practice in Islam? Did you read the Quran? You should have asked Islamists who are ardent followers of Islam”, he said. He took the same abuse the Pulwama terrorist used to abuse the judges saying, “These judges are not fit to work in the judiciary. They are utter fools who drink gau mutra.”

He also lied through his teeth about the RJB verdict saying that the judiciary gave the verdict in favour of Hindus even though there was no evidence for the existence of a temple. He said that Afzal Guru was innocent and that there was no evidence to prove that he attacked the parliament, had links with terror organisations or a terrorist himself. Saying that he was hanged to satisfy the collective conscience of the society, he asked whether the judiciary will hang PM Modi as the collective conscience of the Muslim society wants it.

While only the part where Islamists made way for the Hindu procession was used by media to set a narrative that Hindus and Muslims live in harmony in TN, Jamal Usmani had asked how bindi, Vibhuti(sacred ash), Kumkum, etc can be allowed if hijab is not allowed. Media conveniently hid this and Islamists refusing to let Hindus pass and reported that Muslims formed a human chain to let the procession pass peacefully.
