The Police lathicharged on the protesting Hindu villagers in Sekendarpur village of English Bazaar of Maldah district. The Hindu villagers were protesting against the brutal murder of a Hindu youth named Nimai Mondal.
For the last fifteen days, villagers of Sekendarpur decided to keep vigil at night to stop the suspected jihadi attacks on the village. According to the villagers, armed jihadi elements were targeting the Hindu homes of the village at night for last some days.
On Tuesday night, few Hindus youths of the village were at guard. After midnight, suspected jihadi elements, armed with sharp weapons attacked them. Nimai Mondal got seriously injured while resisting them. He was rushed to the hospital where doctor declared him brought dead. Another three Hindu youths named Surya Mondal, Akash Gupta and Biswajit Ravidas were also injured and have been undergoing treatment.
In the next morning, angry villagers blocked the Maldah-Manikchak State Highway demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. The protesters pelted stones towards the police, said sources. Then, the police lathicharged and used tear gas to disperse the protesting villagers. The police also detained several protesters for attacking the Police.
SP of Maldah, Pradip Yadav said, “We are collecting CCTV footage to identify the accused of the murder. We have detained some people and questioning them. We also detained some for attacking the Police.”
Nimai Mondal, Surya Mondal, Akash Gupta and Biswajit Ravidas and unnamed others resisted violent attacks heroically by gangs of terrorist Mohammadans, suffering body injuries and Nimai Mondal sacrificed his life tackling attackers.
What is most concerning is that though the report mentions Mohammadan gangs trying to attack Hindu villagers, organizing raids nightly ( the typical scriptural method of ghazwa), there is no mention of what the state and central governments are doing to handle it. The village Hindus are still facing seize by these gangs. And what the Hindus, their organizations are doing against it in West Bengal as well as outside it? Should not they be on streets demanding neutralizing of these Mohammadan gangs? The absence of any news regarding that is very disturbing. Sacrifice of Nimai Mondal and others should not turn into a worthless self-hating spectacle by Hindus.
