In a deeply disturbing incident from Kothrud, a traditionally Hindu locality in Pune, a chilling case of religious coercion and forced conversion has emerged from an unexpected front—a unisex salon. The incident revolves around Islamist Javed, the owner of Arsh Unisex Salon, and his associate Arman, both of whom have been accused of forcing a Hindu girl to recite the Islamic Kalma—a key Islamic prayer used during conversion. According to reports, this was allegedly done to convert the girl to Islam and coerce her into a Nikah.
The girl had visited the salon for a grooming session, but what followed was far from ordinary. As per activists of Satya Sanatan Dharma, she was taken to the first floor of the building by the accused duo and pressured into religious submission. Disturbingly, it was also claimed that she was forcibly married to Javed, pointing to a deeper, more organized form of exploitation operating under the cover of employment and beauty services.
Grooming turns to grooming for jihad
Further allegations by the activists reveal that the salon exclusively employs Islamist male hairstylists, and the entire agreement of the establishment is in Javed’s name. This has raised serious suspicions about the salon being part of a broader Love Jihad network, where emotional manipulation and religious coercion are systematically used to entrap Hindu girls.
“We are witnessing a disturbing pattern where salons, gyms, and beauty parlours are being used as fronts for Love Jihad operations. Hindu girls are being trapped, converted, and married off under pressure. Hindus must stay alert and inculcate Dharma to prevent such traps,” said a member of Satya Sanatan Dharma. The group confronted Javed and Arman and raised the alarm about such tactics being deployed in unsuspecting, everyday public spaces.
Ahmednagar to Haveri: The Islamist grooming network
This is not an isolated case. Similar disturbing patterns have surfaced across the country where seemingly neutral or friendly environments—salons, gyms, coaching centers, and rental flats—are used as operational grounds for trapping unsuspecting Hindu girls. In Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, a chilling case had emerged in 2023, where a Muslim gym trainer trapped a minor Hindu girl, began a relationship under a false identity, and later tried to coerce her into conversion and marriage. The girl was rescued only after her parents filed a complaint and Hindu activists intervened. The gym was found to be employing only Muslim men and had earlier complaints brushed under the rug.
In another shocking case from Jharkhand, a Muslim teacher at a private coaching center used emotional manipulation to target multiple Hindu girls, pretending to be a Hindu himself. He was eventually caught when one of the girls resisted his pressure to convert, and a sting operation exposed the truth. In many of these instances, the tactic begins with grooming—building trust and isolating the girl from her family—and quickly escalates into religious indoctrination and forced Nikah.
One of the most horrifying incidents took place in Haveri, Karnataka, where a Hindu girl was lured and taken across state borders. She was subjected to physical assault, blackmail using obscene videos, and forced religious rituals. A web of handlers ensured she couldn’t escape easily. Again, the network operated from a local salon and a mobile shop—ordinary urban setups hiding sinister agendas.
These recurring incidents are not mere cases of personal relationships gone wrong—they are part of a well-oiled Islamist conversion machinery. This machinery relies on religious solidarity, community funding, and silence to operate under the radar. They deploy emotionally persuasive individuals into positions of social interaction—trainers, stylists, and tutors—who are instructed to target Hindu girls specifically. Once trapped, the girl is either manipulated into conversion or threatened into compliance using blackmail or violence.
This is how religious jihad is repackaged and executed through social grooming. The grooming spaces are chosen deliberately—places where Hindu girls feel safe, unthreatened, and open. What unfolds behind the curtains is psychological warfare, where the victim is isolated from her roots and rebuilt under the Islamist fold. It’s no longer just a relationship issue—it’s strategic demographic warfare. As the Kothrud incident shows, such networks are deeply entrenched and operate even in urban Hindu strongholds.
