Six women employed at different companies in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, have reportedly approached the Amahiya police, complaining that Saif Pathan repeatedly followed, harassed, and blackmailed them despite being asked to stop. As per the Organiser reports, the women further stated that he pressured them to convert to Islam, leading them to seek police intervention. Police have reportedly begun looking into the allegations.
According to local reports and social media posts, the women work at different companies in the area, with Pathan’s office near their workplaces. The complainants strongly complained that Saif Pathan repeatedly followed and approached them over several days, even after they had asked him to stop.
“We approached the Amahiya police station because we are concerned about our safety. He repeatedly follows us and speaks to us inappropriately. Even when we go to the bathroom, he follows us and uses abusive words. He calls us and asks us to convert to Islam and go with him. He also tells us that he will take care of us like a queen. He has spoken to us about conversion multiple times, despite our objections. We came to the police seeking protection and to ensure that this harassment stops,” one of the complainants told the media.
The women further stated that Pathan made unwanted remarks and attempted to pressure them to convert to Islam. They claimed that the conduct persisted despite their objections, raising concerns about their safety and prompting them to seek police intervention.
Reports circulated on September 21 stated that the six women went to the Amahiya police station and submitted a complaint. Police are reportedly examining the serious issue and the circumstances described by the complainants.
The Rewa allegations come amid a separate case recently reported in Bhopal, where police arrested Jumman Ansari following a complaint by a 20-year-old woman. She complained that Ansari had approached her on Instagram under the name Krish Jain and had developed a relationship with her while concealing his true identity. According to the complaint, the two remained in contact for nearly a year before Ansari took the woman to Delhi on the pretext of marriage. Police subsequently arrested him in connection with the complaint.
Such cases are not new in Bharat, particularly in Madhya Pradesh, where similar cases have been reported previously. Hindu-targeted conversion, radical Islamic-mediated blackmail, coercion, deception, harassment, and attempts to pressure individuals into Islamic religious conversion have raised concerns in Hindu society.
