The tragic death of a minor Scheduled Caste girl in Dharwad has triggered widespread anger after allegations emerged that she was lured, sexually exploited, and subjected to sustained abuse before her death. Following mounting pressure from local residents and Hindu organizations, the police arrested two accused Islamists, Nayeem Baig and Sohail Mulla, in connection with the case and reportedly recovered photographs and explicit videos from their mobile phones that are said to support the allegations.
As per the Organiser reports, the incident has raised serious questions about the delay in action despite the Hindu victim’s death occurring several weeks earlier. Community leaders and activists have demanded a thorough investigation into whether the girl was subjected to coercion, exploitation, and intimidation prior to her death. The case has intensified calls for stringent punishment for all those involved and for accountability from authorities over the handling of the investigation.
As public anger continues to grow, several organizations have announced protests demanding justice for the victim and urging the government to ensure that no individual connected to the crime escapes the law. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over crimes against vulnerable minor girls and the need for swift and decisive action by law enforcement agencies.
Following sustained public pressure and demands for justice, Dharwad police arrested the prime accused, 25-year-old Nayeem Baig Jorammanavar, from Shirahatti in Gadag district. The arrest was carried out by a team led by Garag Police Sub-Inspector Praveen Gangol. Subsequently, police also took into custody Nayeem’s associate, 22-year-old Sohail Mulla of Uppinabetageri village. During the course of the investigation, officials reportedly recovered photographs and explicit videos from the mobile phones of the accused, which allegedly pointed to the sexual exploitation of the minor Hindu girl.
Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik visited Garag village, met the grieving family members, and criticized the authorities for what he described as a slow response despite the seriousness of the allegations. Hindu organizations, including Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), have announced protests demanding stringent punishment for the accused Islamist and a comprehensive investigation into all aspects of the case.
Adding to the concerns, Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (DSS) leader Hemavati T. alleged that the accused had lured the minor girl into a relationship and later subjected her to harassment, ultimately leading to her tragic death. She further alleged that the police initially failed to act decisively and registered an FIR only 15 days after the incident, reportedly following the superintendent of police’s intervention. The allegations have intensified demands for accountability and a transparent investigation to ensure justice for the victim and her family.
This is not the first case happening in Bharat. People like Nayeem Baig spread across the corners of the country to perpetrate such heinous acts. This has to be stopped; in such cases, Hindu organizations should come up and add their voice to the voiceless minor Hindu girls’ abductions, rapes, and exploitation. The conversion agenda of Islamic extremists should not be allowed to happen. We as Hindus should unite against those Islamist predators who hunt innocent kids. Authorities should take proper responsibility rather than having appeasement politics, which is an everyday duty of the state Congress government in Karnataka.
