Hindu girls and women have been a constant target for radical Islamists, who are using false identities to trap them in Love Jihad. Such incidents have skyrocketed in recent times, where Islamists are luring Hindu girls with the sole intention of converting them and harassing them. In a recent case, one Chhotu Mewati alias Rahul, and his accomplice abducted a minor Hindu girl on August 20 in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
The victim is the daughter of a bullion trader living in Shahganj area of Agra. She was lured into his trap by Chhotu Mewati, who posed as Rahul. Chotu seduced the girl and convinced her to leave the house. With the help of his friends Suraj and Raja, he had sent sleeping pills to the girl. The girl gave sleeping pills to her parents and brother in tea on Saturday night. She had left the house in the middle of the night with five thousand rupees and jewelry worth several lakhs of rupees.
The family woke up late in the morning as it was Sunday and after waking up they found the doors of the house were open, the Almira was also broken. Following the abduction, the family registered a an FIR at the Shahganj police station. The police registered the complaint under sections 366 (Kidnapping) and 363 (Punishment for kidnapping) of the IPC.
As the matter was sensitive, the Police swung into action and started searching for the minor girl. After a while, the Police were able to recover the girl from the Tajganj area. Police have also arrested two accomplices of Chhotu Mewati, Suraj and Raja, residents of Shahganj, from Kothi Meena Bazar on Tuesday. The girl recorded her statement and said that Chhotu Mewati had taken her to a hotel located on Fatehabad Road in Tajganj, where he sexually abused her.
Inspector-in-charge Shahganj Bhanu Pratap Singh said that on the basis of the statement of the minor, sections of rape and POCSO act have been added to the charges. Suraj and Raja are sent to jail, whereas efforts are being made to arrest the primary accused Chhotu Mewati.
