Churches causing disruption in Chintapalli village (AP) allege residents; call for removal of the churches

In an undated video making the rounds on social media, residents of a remote village nestled in the heart of Andhra Pradesh named Chintapalli, are raising their voices against the missionaries, who are hell-bent on achieving their conversion goals; the villagers demand the removal of churches that they claim are causing significant disruptions to their daily lives.

The village, already home to four churches, is now facing the potential construction of a fifth, leading to heightened tensions among the community. The primary source of contention revolves around the excessive use of loudspeakers during church activities, causing considerable disturbance to the villagers. Complaints have poured in from families whose members, especially children and the sick, find it difficult to cope with the incessant noise.

The situation has escalated beyond the noise issue, with the villagers accusing the people propagating the Christian faith of breaking down their once-united families. Allegedly, families that were once closely knit are now divided, with religious conversions driving a wedge between brothers, sisters, and parents. The consequences are particularly evident during times of grief, as converted family members are reported to be avoiding attendance at Hindu funerals, leaving families struggling to find enough participants for the final rites.

One villager lamented, “We used to stand united, irrespective of our religious beliefs. Hindus would attend Christian functions, and Christians would reciprocate. However, the current scenario is starkly different. Our own brothers and sisters are not attending funerals simply because they have converted.”

The plea for intervention has reached the media and government, as the villagers hope for a resolution to their predicament. They are urging authorities to address the issue and are calling for media coverage to bring attention to their plight. Sleepless nights and immense patience have been exhausted, leading the villagers to demand the closure of the contentious church and an end to what they perceive as the interference of the “conversion mafia” in their community.
