Triggered by Neha Hiremath’s tragedy, Karnataka girl attempts to terminate relationship with Islamist, faces violent assault

In a shocking turn of events in Hubbali, Karnataka, just days after the brutal murder of Neha, another disturbing incident came to light within the same city on April 23. Islamist Mohammad Aftab, a fruit seller, initiated a relationship with a Hindu girl. Based on the reports from Udayavani, the Hindu girl was introduced to Aftab by a female Muslim friend. The girl found herself enticed by his lavish gifts, sparking a romantic interest between them.

However, the tragic demise of Neha instilled fear in the girl, prompting her to reconsider her relationship with Aftab. Upon expressing her decision to end the association, she faced a harrowing ordeal as Aftab resorted to physical violence against her. Fortunately, the timely intervention of locals prevented a potential tragedy, leading to Aftab’s apprehension by authorities.

Mystery behind expensive gifts; manipulative tactics

The circumstances surrounding this incident raise pressing questions about the dynamics of power and influence at play. How could a modest fruit seller afford such extravagant gifts, and what underlying motivations drove his actions? These inquiries underscore the need for a thorough investigation into the sources of Aftab’s income and his potential involvement in illicit activities. Meanwhile, authorities have taken Aftab into custody.

Islamist Aftab attacked Hindu girl

The girl revealed to the police, “Aftab had been following me for two years, showering me with gifts in bags and various other items. Although I initially tried to forge a friendship with him, my suspicions about his intentions heightened following the tragic murder of Neha. I subsequently urged Aftab to sever all ties between us.”

Elaborating on the sequence of events, she recounted, “Aftab insisted that I return all the gifts he had bestowed upon me. However, when I went to return the gifts and formally end our association, he viciously attacked me. In broad daylight, on the bustling street, he struck me with a heavy object on my head.”

The girl recounted the harrowing details to authorities, alleging that Aftab resorted to further aggression by setting fire to the gifts she returned, igniting them on the roadside. “As I endured the attack, passersby witnessed the altercation and rushed to my aid, pulling Aftab away from the scene,” she asserted.

Viewers perspectives on the assault: The perpetrator was holding a knife!

Based on the reports from News 18, one of the courageous bystanders, recounting the scene, described witnessing a sudden act of violence against the girl in broad daylight at a public location. “I acted swiftly, rushing to her rescue and intervening to push the assailant away,” he narrated. Additionally, he noted that Aftab was armed with a knife during the confrontation.

The victim’s grievances extended to Aftab’s coercive tactics, alleging that he had forcibly bestowed bags and other items upon her as gifts. She further claimed that he exerted pressure on her to prolong the relationship, exacerbating her ordeal.

Hubbali Dharwad City Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar informed PTI that, based on the girl’s complaint, authorities registered a case under Sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 504 (insult intended to provoke breach of peace), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 354 (assault or use of criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code at Keshavapur police station. Subsequently, the accused was arrested in connection with the incident.

Incident averted just in time, echoing Neha Hiremath’s murder

The brutal murder of Neha, the daughter of Congress Councillor Niranjan Hiremath from the Hubbali-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, has garnered significant public outcry. Hindu organizations and student unions are uniting in their call for justice. The tragedy served as a wake-up call for the Hindu girl, prompting her to escape from the trap set by Islamist extremists.

Recent cases have brought to light the alarming trend of Islamists employing tactics to befriend Hindu girls in Karnataka, subsequently resorting to blackmail and coercion, ultimately leading to forced conversions.
