A collective of Ayyappa devotees in Tamil Nadu has filed a complaint with the Mettuppalayam police, demanding that a case be registered against a renowned Tamil director and a female Gana singer for allegedly insulting Bhagwan Ayyappa.
In their complaint, the complainants accused the director and singer of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus by insulting Bhagwan Ayyappa through a song. The song starts with I am sorry Ayyappa. It motivates women of all ages, to freely enter the Ayyappa shrine at Sabarimala. This song was sung after the Supreme Court judgement, which permitted women of all ages to enter the Sabarimala shrine a few years ago. This song insists women of all ages must be allowed to enter the Sabarimala shrine!
The Hindu Makkal Katchi has also filed a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner’s Office demanding action against singer ‘Gaana’ Isaivani and director Pa Ranjith for performing a song deemed disrespectful to Hindu deity Ayyappan during an event hosted by the Neelam Cultural Center.
Hindu Makkal Katchi Women’s Wing State President Sushila Devi has filed a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner’s Office, expressing concern over a song circulating on social media. The song, which was performed by Gaana singer Isaivani at an event organized by director Pa. Ranjith’s Neelam Cultural Center, allegedly insults Bhagwan Ayyappa and has deeply offended millions of devotees across Bharat.
Sushila Devi claims the lyrics of the song not only hurt the religious sentiments of those who venerate Ayyappa Swamy but also aim to disrupt social harmony and peace. She argues that the song is designed to stir hatred and unrest, particularly among Ayyappa devotees and women devotees, both in Tamil Nadu and throughout the country. She has urged authorities to intervene immediately by banning the song and the organisation by taking appropriate action against those responsible for spreading content that incites violence and disturbs public order.
Speaking to the press later, Sushila Devi strongly condemned Isaivani, stating, “We are severely condemning Isaivani why because she is making disrespectful and offensive comments about Lord Ayyappa. The words she used are intolerable. We have never spoken ill of Christians or Muslims in the same way, I don’t know how it is fair only Hinduism is targeted. We never tell anyone not to go to church or mosque. In fact, we even revere Jesus as one of the 63 Nayanmar saints and worship him. So why is our faith being insulted? Isaivani’s comments against Lord Ayyappa are deeply disparaging. We have filed a complaint, and we expect immediate action to be taken.”
Hindu Dharma cannot be destroyed by anyone in this world. Some people who belong to other religions are trying to destroy this ancient religion, by making false remarks on Hinduism, and also by making derogatory comments on our deities.
Still, some non-believers of Hindu Dharma are criticising our great Bhagwan Ayyappa, and without knowing about the significance of Bhagwan Ayyappa, they are commenting and creating anger in the minds of Hindus through their provocative songs. Our ancient sages and saints have dedicated their entire lives to propagating Hindu Dharma through their great divine works like Puranas, Vedas and Bhakti songs on the almighty. Some years back, the ancient Prahaladapuri Temple at Multan in Pakistan, built by the great Bhakta Prahalada to his beloved Bhagwan Narasimha, was wilfully destroyed by some miscreants.
Generally, Hindus are calm and quiet people who don’t fight with others. However, people are taking advantage of this and constantly criticising our deities and Dharma. Hindus would never talk badly about other religions, and they would never find fault with the beliefs of other religions. Those who try to damage our holy Hindu Dharma must try to understand one thing, and that is, our almighty knows about everything happening in this world since the great almighty is always “MIGHTY”.
