What began as a minor argument, nothing but a strong religious intolerance of Islamic goons over a Diwali firecracker in Hennur, Bengaluru, escalated into a violent confrontation late on Diwali night. A group of five Islamist men allegedly returned to the neighborhood armed with machetes and long weapons, threatening residents and creating widespread panic. The incident occurred around 10 PM near Doddaramanna Layout in Hennur.
Residents terrified as armed Islamist men storm the street
According to eyewitnesses, the group entered the area shouting threats and brandishing weapons. Locals, including families celebrating Diwali, were left terrified as the Islamist men allegedly attempted to attack residents and damage property. Quick-thinking locals captured the incident on mobile phones, later handing over the footage to police as evidence.
As per Asianet News Kannada, the violence reportedly started when a small spark from a firecracker touched Ameen Sharif, one of the accused, as he passed on his bike. Instead of resolving the issue peacefully, he is said to have called his associates and returned with deadly weapons. Within minutes, a festive evening turned into chaos, as the group intimidated bystanders and created fear among Hindu residents.

Despite the chaos, local youths displayed remarkable bravery by confronting the armed men. Working together, they managed to catch three of the accused and handed them over to the Hennur Police. The arrested individuals were identified as Ameen Sharif, Syed Arbaaz, and Sheed Khadar. Two others involved in the incident are currently absconding, and a search operation is underway.
Following a complaint by a resident named Kiran, police have registered a case under the Arms Act and several other sections related to criminal intimidation and public disorder. During questioning, the accused reportedly admitted to acting to maintain dominance in the locality, which has raised further concerns about attempts to spread fear among citizens.
The incident has sparked outrage among residents, who are demanding strict punishment and increased visibility in policing to ensure safety during festivals. Locals insist that no group or individual should be allowed to take the law into their hands. They also urged authorities to maintain neutrality in law and order, ensuring that all citizens can celebrate traditional festivals without fear or intimidation. The poor governance under the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government has no safety for Hindus. Hindus are the ultimate sufferers of Islamic brutality attacks during festivals, which have no end unless the bootlicking Congress party starts obeying the law rather than supporting Islamists.
