West Bengal: Bangladeshi Muslim woman enters Bharat illegally to marry boyfriend, arrested

A Bangladeshi Muslim woman who entered Bharat illegally to marry her boyfriend, arrested by police. She is identified as Nurtaj Akhtar, a resident of Enayatpur under Narayanganj district. Police also arrested her boyfriend Seikh Shamim, a resident of Tentultala area of Bardhaman.

As per information received, Shamim and Nurtaj got in touch through social media platform Facebook. Slowly, a relationship started between them. To marry her boyfriend, Nurtaj decided to enter Bharat. 

Around three months ago, Nurtaj entered Bharat through the unfenced borders of Bangaon of North 24 Parganas district. She entered India with the help of a  agent, who mainly deals with cross border human trafficking. Her boyfriend Shamim received her and took her to his home in Bardhaman. 

There they got married and were living a happy life. Somehow National Anti-Trafficking Committee came to know about her and filed a complaint at Bardhaman Police Station. Later, Police arrested Nurtaj for illegally entering Bharat and her husband Shamim for helping her.
