In Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur, 23-year-old Ankit, a youth from Lalakhedi Kulmi village took his own life by consuming sulphas pills. Before his tragic end, he recorded two videos, sharing the reason behind his decision. He uploaded these videos on social media before committing the act. Despite efforts by villagers to rush him to the hospital, he couldn’t be saved. The incident has caused a stir in the area, prompting a police investigation.
Ankit was an active social media user, residing in his maternal grandparents’ house. Sub Inspector Babulal Dabi reported that Ankit made a video of himself taking sulphas pills, explaining the reason for his actions. He had mentioned having spoken to Altaf’s sister from the same village twice on the phone. Subsequently, the girl’s brother, Altaf, allegedly threatened him.
In the video, Ankit is seen in a forest, sitting under a tree while consuming the sulphas pills. As news spread about his poisoning, family members and villagers rushed him to the district hospital, but sadly, he did not survive. Postmortem was conducted by the police, and the body was handed over to the family.
The Berchha police station has now registered a case against Altaf Shah based on the deceased’s mention in the video. Ankit, known for his social media presence, often created reels and shared them on his Instagram account, showcasing his talent for acting out film dialogues. He hailed from Bhootiya Talab village. This highlights the pressure exerted by Islamists on Hindus, forcing the latter into suicide. Further investigations into the matter are ongoing.
