The body of a Hindu girl who went missing three days ago was found in a well near her house on 10 April. The family suspects Shahrukh Khan, a young Muslim man from the neighbourhood who used to threaten their daughter, is responsible for her murder. The incident was reported in Madhya Pradesh’s (MP) Shivpuri District. The discovery of the victim’s dead body caused unrest in the area.
The tension in the area escalated due to the involvement of the youth from the Muslim community, leading to a large police presence at the crime spot. The girl’s body was subjected to a postmortem, which revealed that she died from drowning.
On Sunday (7 April) afternoon, the girl was talking on the phone with Shahrukh Khan. When her family got to know about it, they confronted her. Soon after that, she went missing. After her disappearance, her family registered her missing report at the Dehat police station. The police launched a search operation and discovered her body in the well on Wednesday (10 April).
The girl’s family was shocked by the discovery, as they had searched the well when she first went missing but found nothing. The mother alleges that Mohammad Shahrukh Khan, along with his friends Farooq and Tannu, murdered her daughter and threw her body in the well. She claims that Shahrukh had threatened the deceased, causing her to live in fear.
Dehat police station in-charge Jitendra Mavai confirmed the recovery of the body and stated that the postmortem report indicated death by drowning. He further added that a detailed postmortem report is awaited, after which they would proceed with the investigations based on the complaint of the victim’s family. It has come to light that Shahrukh was stalking the victim for two years and murdered her as she turned down his proposal. The victim feared for the safety of her family members after being threatened by the accused.
