Gautam Solanki (21) murdered by butcher Kamran Khan over minor dispute at meat shop, another Hindu youth injured: Depalpur, MP

Buying chicken from meat shop owner Kamran Akram Khan proved deadly for Gautam Madhusudhan Solanki (21) in Depalpur police station area of Indore district, Madhya Pradesh.

Gautam, resident of Ahirkhedi village, had gone to butcher Kamran’s shop on Sunday night along with his friend Bunty. There he had an argument with Kamran over some issue – apparently about buying chicken on credit, as per SP (rural) Sunil Kumar Mehta. But this verbal spat so enraged Kamran that he hit Gautam with an iron rod, seriously injuring him, and also attacked Bunty.

Word reached Gautam’s family – his father is a BJP worker and owns a tent business – and they rushed to the spot. Kamran had closed his shop and fled by then. A wounded Gautam was rushed to hospital for treatment, but passed away early on Monday morning. As Gautam was also a member of a Hindu organization in the area, a large group assembled on Monday demanding justice – death penalty for the accused Kamran and demolition of his illegally constructed structures.

The prime accused Kamran Khan has been arrested, and police is on the lookout for other accused.
