Bangladesh: Islamists attack ISKCON temple in Sylhet, beat up Sadhus

Hindu minorities and Hindu temples are not safe in Muslim-majority Bangladesh. Now, a case of attack on the Hindu temple is coming from the Sylhet district of Bangladesh.

The Hindu temple is in Krishnapur village under the Shivbari Upazila of the Sylhet district. ISKCON manages the temple.

On the morning of the 13th of May, a group of Islamists came and tried to grab the land of the temple. Priest and Sadhus tried to resist. But, Islamists allegedly dragged Sadhus and beat them. The Islamists also hurled obscene language at the Sadhus.

After the incident, authorities of the ISKCON Krishnapur temple published a video of the incident on their official Facebook page. ISKCON alleged that miscreants had been trying to grab the temple land.

Later, a complaint has been filed. As of now, no one has been arrested.
