Murder Of Corporal Gaud An Act Of High Treason, TMC Government Going Easy On Accused: MoD

The Army and Indian Air Force (IAF) say that Sambia (Tausif) Sohrab, son of TMC leader Mohammed Sohrab, rammed his Audi Q7 SUV into Corporal Abhimanyu Gaud outside Fort William, Kolkata on 13 January as part of a planned conspiracy. It was an act of high treason and the driver should be charged accordingly, lawyers representing the Ministry of Defence (MoD) will plead in court even if the Kolkata Police only charge the driver with murder alone.

“The driver should not get any opportunity to get away. From whatever evidence we have collected so far, he was fully aware of the reasons for which the road was blocked. He also knew that military contingents would be rehearsing for the Republic Day Parade on Red Road. Despite his knowledge, he smashed into barricades and sped towards the gathering of officers and soldiers. This clearly reveals his intent. We have mentioned all this in the FIR,” a senior MoD officer said.

According to an official in Delhi, both the IAF and the Army are still not too sure that the prosecution will put in all efforts to ensure that Corporal Gaud’s family gets justice. At least, the attitude of the police in the first few days after the incident has not given them any confidence. Though the MoD has been claiming from the start that there was only one occupant in the vehicle, the Kolkata Police has not yet made any official statement confirming this.

“The FIR also mentions how officers and other personnel made an extreme effort to stop the SUV. The driver, however, swerved towards them in a threatening manner. All of this points to a planned conspiracy to cause as much harm as possible to military personnel performing their duties,” the officer added.

Another officer who witnessed the entire episode sheds more light. A traffic constable tried to stop Sambia Sohrab as he tried to enter the prohibited zone. Had the driver not had intentions to cause death, he would have never crossed the barrier by force. Even had he done so on impulse, he would have slowed down or stopped on seeing so much activity ahead, the officer said.

An Audi SUV associated with the sons of a Trinamul leader, Mohammed Sohrab, breached multiple barriers at the doorstep of Fort William, Kolkata and flung to death an Air Force Corporal, instructing a contingent rehearsing for the Republic Day parade at daybreak. Corporal Abhimanyu Gaud, who hailed from Surat in Gujarat and traced his roots to Uttar Pradesh, was only 21. He was serving his first post at Kalaikunda after joining the Air Force a year-and-a-half ago, and was planning to build a house at his native place in Gorakhpur, UP.

The Audi Q7 is registered in the name of a company called Mussadi Business Pvt Ltd. According to the Registrar of Companies, Ambia Sohrab is an additional director and Tousif Sohrab, also known as Sambia, is a director of the company. Ambia and Sambia are the sons of Mohammad Sohrab, a Trinamul leader and a former legislator elected on a ticket from Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal with Left support. Sohrab senior is said to wield considerable clout in Burrabazar, Kolkata’s business hub.

The SUV eventually stopped 200 metres away. But the occupants of the car slipped away – an inexplicable feat on the flat and vast terrain that offers few hiding places and with the nearest available vehicles 400 metres away as traffic was restricted for the annual parade rehearsal.

The police blamed fog but once the political connection of the SUV emerged, there were murmurs that the suspects were allowed to walk away.  The SUV and its unidentified occupants had a free run for nearly a kilometre, challenged only by guardrails that were tossed away like matchsticks under high-velocity impact.

An arrest warrant has been issued against Mohammed Sohrab, but he and his elder son Ambia Sohrab (in whose name the Audi is registered) are still absconding. Kolkata police believe the duo is trying to cross over to Bangladesh. 3 days after the gruesome murder, police finally managed to arrest Sambia Sohrab and 2 of his friends, Shahnawaz Khan & ‘Johnny’ (full name not yet revealed by police), who are also believed to be part of the conspiracy.

The three arrested have been booked under IPC sections 120(B) (criminal conspiracy), 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 212 (harbouring offender) and 427 (mischief causing damage).

Ambia Sohrab and his brother Sambia have had run ins with the law before, and are known to flaunt their father’s ‘connections’.  “My father is an ex-MLA and now a Trinamool leader. Think of the consequences before you even touch me,” threatened Ambia Sohrab to a bouncer who tried to ask him why he landed a punch on the manager’s face who was refusing him and his friends entry into a Kolkata discotheque in December 2015. A day after his father’s victory in the 2006 West Bengal assembly elections, Ambia slapped a traffic cop after flouting traffic norms. He was detained, but was let off after a few hours.

Ambia Sohrab’s friends include sons of several noted political leaders. One of his close friends is Kadir Khan, the gym instructor who was the prime accused in the Park Street rape case. Khan is still absconding.

Apex Body Of Hindu Sadhus Joins Battle For Sanskrit

ABAP Endorsement Letter
ABAP endorsement for Battle of Sanskrit

In a significant development, the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad (ABAP), an apex orgnization representing Hindu Sadhus and Sants and composed of 14 Akharas, has given a ringing endorsement to the new book ‘The Battle For Sanksrit’ by Shri Rajiv Malhotra. In a letter reproduced below, ABAP President Mahant Narendra Giri says,

“After reading the book, The Battle For Sanskrit, the Akhada Parishad realizes the importance of training our sadhus in the modern academic discourse concerning our sanskriti. Only then can we participate and give our responses. It is clear to me that the academic interpretation of our sacred texts has been taken over by scholars who are not properly experienced in the Vedic tradition. We the akhadas are the true insiders of the tradition, and our adhikara should not be replaced by the views of outsiders especially those living a non-Vedic lifestyle.

As the book advocates, we respect the freedom of speech of everyone, including the outsiders. It is up to us as the traditional adhikaris to rise to the challenge being posed by the outsiders. We must respond by presenting the traditional understanding with mutual respect, as the author of the book proposes. I am calling upon our scholars to properly study the writings of Westerners, to have open and fair debates with them on key issues, and to take back the study of Hindu Dharma for the well being of our samaj.

Shri Rajiv Malhotra rightfully provokes us to start our own university of Indology, where we will teach how to do purva-paksha and uttara-paksha on Western indologists. We cannot necessarily change the thinking of outsiders, but we must protect our samaj from becoming intellectually hijacked and infiltrated by harmful lifestyles and values.
I wish the book great success and recommend our akhadas to invite the author and understand his work.

Mahant Narendra Giri
President, Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad”

This move assumes significance as it portends that the intellectual awakening in Hindu samaj has taken deep roots. There is a realization cutting across various classes of Hindu society about the need to tackle the intellectual threat to our Dharma, civilization and heritage, head on. Unlike Western ‘indologists’ such as Wendy Doniger and Sheldon Pollock who resort to distortion, cunning and even outright abuse to further their agenda, and their liberal-leftist sepoys who resort to extreme intolerance and goondaism when their viewpoint is challenged, it is heartening to see Hindu scholars talk about open debate and mutual respect.

This project of modernization within the framework of Hindu Dharma is much needed, and something which will have a far-reaching positive impact on Hindu society.

Shri Malhotra will be addressing 3 public sessions in New Delhi on the book ‘The Battle For Sanskrit’, and the schedule for these events is as below –

As the debate over Rohith Vemula’s death rages in media and political circles, it has taken a predictable turn as leftists, Islamists, secularists and anarchists look to milk his death for their respective goals.

Even though Rohith’s parents have issued a passionate appeal to not play politics over Rohith’s death, everyone from Derek O’Brien of TMC, Owaisi of MIM, Kejriwal of AAP, and Rahul Gandhi of Congress have descended on the University of Hyderabad campus to keep the political pot boiling.

Now, a new video has emerged on social media, which pieces together Rohith’s gradual progression from a hopeful young college student into a bitter and radical political activist. Watch to decide for yourself.

What is the ‘controversy’ at Shani Shingnapur temple ?

This ‘controversy’ is related to the Shani mandir in Shani Shingnapur village, Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra. This Hindu temple is dedicated to Shani (the devata or diety associated with the planet Saturn) who is said to be Swayambhu that is self emerged from earth in form of a black stone at this place. The temple authorities do not allow either men or women to climb the 9 steps to the Shani(idol). Everyone (man or woman) is allowed to enter the temple.

Badruddin Ajmal Asks Muslims To ‘Unite Against Hindus’ In Assam

2

All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal has issued an appeal to Muslims in Assam to “unite against Hindus”. The ruling Congress party has on the surface issued a ‘condemnation’ of this divisive rhetoric, but there are hectic behind the scene parleys to patch up some kind of arrangement between Congress and AIUDF for the upcoming Assam assembly polls, to ensure that there is no division of the ‘secular’ (aka Muslim) vote.

AIUDF holds 18 seats in the 126 member Assam Assembly, and is said to rely on illegal Bangladeshi Muslims as its core vote bank. Badruddin Ajmal has in the past been accused by indigenous Assamese Muslim groups with fanning communal sentiments in the wake of the 2012 Assam riots, and of instigating the exodus of North-east students and workers from the West and South of Bharat.

In a speech given in the Lok Sabha on 8 Aug 2012, Ajmal can be heard denying presence of any illegal Bangladeshi Muslims in Assam by labeling them as ‘Bengali speaking Muslims’ settled in Assam before partition of Bharat. He also says that if anyone claims the ‘Bengali speaking Muslims’ in Assam are Bangladeshi, then senior BJP leader L.K. Advani should also be called ‘Pakistani’ (Shri Advani’s family had migrated during partition from Sindh)

Yet, despite the frequent communal rhetoric from Ajmal and his denial of a serious illegal immigration problem that even the Supreme Court (SC) has acknowledged is a national security threat, Congress CM Tarun Gogoi has issued a ‘secular’ certificate to Ajmal and AIUDF by saying “The AIUDF was fighting communal forces.” This is what the SC said in April last year while coming down heavily on the Congress Govt. in Assam for its lackadaisical approach to this serious problem –

“Assam faced tumultuous cultural and demographic changes because of the massive influx from Bangladesh and had directed the Centre to talk to the neighbouring country to streamline procedures for deportation of illegal migrants.”

This IndiaFacts article by Dr. J.K. Bajaj states the clear and present danger facing Assam due to this demographic invasion –

“Muslims now form 34.2 per cent of the population of Assam, which is 3.2 percentage points higher than their share of 30.9 per cent in 2001. This comes on top of gains of about 2 percentage points registered in each of the decades of 1971-81 and 1981-91 and of 2.5 percentage points in 1991-2001. In 1971, the share of Muslims in the population of Assam was only 24.6 per cent; nearly 10 percentage points below the share counted in 2011.”

So the data shows that Muslim population in Assam has increased by 3.2 percentage points, whereas the national rise of Muslim population has been 0.8 percentage points in the 2011-2011 decade. Apologists like Tarun Gogoi cannot explain this unnaturally high increase in the Muslim population in Assam as just higher Muslim fertility alone – the huge rise in Muslim numbers is due to a consistent influx of Muslims from Bangladesh into Assam.

Badruddin Ajmal is the president of the Assam State Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and a member of the advisory board of Darul Uloom Deoband, his alma mater from where he has earned his Masters Degree in Islamic Theology and Arabic. His positions on sensitive issues thereby acquire a deeper meaning for Muslims across Bharat. He has a global business empire in perfumes, with friends in Islamic circles in Bharat as well as abroad. Thus his stand on issues has wider implications for Muslim politics in Bharat.

Normally, one would expect the national mainstream media to call out bigotry by the likes of Badruddin Ajmal and investigate their trans-national links which are a direct threat to the integrity of Bharat. On the contrary ‘renowned political commentators’ like Shekhar Gupta have this to say about Ajmal and his ilk –

Mr Owaisi and, to an extent, Mr Ajmal spoke a more modern language, of jobs and empowerment….Messrs Owaisi and Ajmal could be forces of modernity.

So the pertinent question to ask is – whose national interest does Mr. Gupta, who once garnered a salary of around Rs. 10 crore per year at Indian Express, represent? Why is no one discussing the clear and present danger facing Assam due to the unchecked inflow of Bangladeshi Muslims?

Did You Know About Thoppukaranam AKA ‘Super Brain’ Yoga?

2

Recently, while surfing channels, I came across a news report on CNN (US) about ‘Super Brain’ Yoga, a simple 5 minute exercise that offers benefits not just for young students, but also adults seeking brain wellness into their senior years and patients with Down Syndrome, Alzheimers, or other development challenges and cognitive delays seeking cures. Here’s a short video on ‘Super Brain’ Yoga :

This piqued my interest, and so decided to do some research on the roots of this technique. Turns out, this is something Hindus have been doing for ages! As this blog enunciates –

“Hindus have been doing ‘Super Brain’ Yoga for ages in front of temples devoted to Shri Ganesha. You can observe that while crossing a Ganesha temple on road, most people stop, take off their footwear, perform “Thoppukaranam”, and then resume their journey. Shri Ganesha is associated with knowledge/memory, a point which is now proved by this research. It is called ThoppuKaranam in Tamil. It is nothing but a dynamic utkatasana (Yoga).

It is really funny to me when I see Hindus going to the doctor’s for memory loss and the doc explain how to do Thoppukaranam. I was taught to do this at school while I was studying pre-primary back in days in Kumbakonam. My grandmother used to take me to the Kumbeshwarar Kovil (temple); she taught me to do Thoppukaranam and I also used to watch her step into elephant’s dung – it apparently has some medicinal affects to soothe her feet.

Thoppukaranam is a traditional practice in Indian Schools, accepted from Gurukulam system of education to make the child sit and stand catching both the ears with hands crossing each other symbolizing punishment for lethargy, laziness and not memorizing or grasping and to improve brain power etc. Most people do it in front of idol of Ganesha by crossing their arms and holding the ear lobes between the tips of the thumb and fore finger; next they bend their knees and get up–doing this three times.”

And as another blog further clarifies :

The Hindus call the practice Thoppukaranam – ‘Thorpi,’ which means with the hands + ‘Karanam,’ which means ears. Hindu Yogis explain the ‘Super Brain’ Yoga effect as an activation of the brain’s energy connections. The right lobe activates the left brain and the left brain activates the right brain. EKGs, a form of brain images, show that the exercise synchronizes the right and left hemispheres of the brain.

The objective is to move the energy from the lower chakras of the body to the higher chakras in the brain region.  In this stage, the energy changes into subtler energies that can improve brain functioning. Pinching the lobes also activates the pineal gland, which sits in the center of the brain.  The pineal gland regulates our circadian rhythm and thus mood and overall well-being. The circadian rhythm is the biological clock that regulates our biological processes in 24-hour cycles. Our circadian rhythm operates on the light-dark cycle. This tiny pea-shaped structure regulates the hormone melatonin, which regulates our body’s responses to light and dark.

Many factors affect the health of the pineal glands, including mental stress, an imbalanced circadian rhythm and nutritional imbalances.  Since Hindu Yogis and Rishis discovered the super brain practice thousands of years ago, many factors in our environment have changed, putting the health of the pineal gland even more at risk. Environmental pollution is our greatest threat. Increasing evidence shows that radiation may affect our circadian rhythm. Electromagnetic fields may interfere with the functioning of the pineal gland and reduce melatonin production. EMFs emit radiation from power lines and our electronic appliances. Thus, activation of the pineal gland is more important today than ever and could help to regulate many health issues.”

How to do Thoppukaranam (‘Super Brain’ Yoga)

In Bharat, Thoppukaranam is done facing Shri Ganesha. The object is to move energy and oxygen up into the brain.

  1. Place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth (the palate) to open the Eustachian tubes in the ears.
  2. Cross your arms in front of your chest with the right arm over the left.
  3. Raise your hands towards your ears and grab the opposite earlobe. Place your thumb on the front of the earlobe and your index finger on the back.  Squeeze gently.
  4. Bend your knees and lower your torso into a squat position while inhaling while going down. Keep your knees over the heels to avoid injury.
  5. Rise into standing position while exhaling.
  6. Repeat for 15 squats.
  7. Ensure the tongue remains on the roof of the mouth.  This position also stimulates the hypothalamus.

Thoppukarnam_Posture

What is the spiritual aspect of Thoppukaranam?

“The modern day practice of ‘Super Brain’ Yoga in the West has removed much of the spiritual significance, including praying to Shri Ganesha. We should invoke divine blessings beforehand and thanksgiving when you are done.  Remember that meditations which are purposeful produce greater beneficial effects.

The Hindus place important significance on the direction one faces when doing yoga.  According to Hindu dharma, the gods reside in both the east and north.  East is the direction of the sun.  Traditionally, Hindus perform Thoppukaranam while worshipping Shri Ganesha.  If the picture of a god faces east, one sits to the right facing north.  If the picture faces north, one faces east.

The symbolism of Shri Ganesha is still an inspiration to those who perform Thoppukaranam. The God with an elephant’s head and human body represents wisdom.  He is worshiped by all Hindus, across all sects. Shri Ganesha holds a rosary to signify the continuous pursuit of knowledge.  As a demonstration of his intelligence, he is the God of success.  He also can remove obstacles and evils.”

Just one of the nuggests of wisdom and evidence based Hindu traditions that many Hindus today are unaware of, but which are beneficial to all of humanity! We at HinduPost will endeavor to bring more such hidden facets of Hindu Dharma to you, the reader.
