Body Found Near Mosque 24 Hours After Disappearance: Mysterious Death of Swapan Das in Banshkhali, Bangladesh

The body of a man identified as Swapan Das (50) was recovered near a mosque in Banshkhali Upazila area of Chattogram, nearly 24 hours after he was reported missing.

According to family sources, Swapan Das, a resident of Purba Denga Para village under Patiya upazila, went missing on Friday, March 27, around 10:00 AM from the Chambal Bazar area in Banshkhali. Following his disappearance, family members and locals conducted extensive searches in different areas but were unable to locate him.

On Saturday, March 28, in the afternoon, his lifeless body was discovered beside a mosque in Banshkhali. Locals gathered at the scene after the body was found and immediately informed the police.

The incident has created tension and concern in the area. Local residents have expressed that this should not be seen as a routine death, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to uncover the actual cause behind it.

Residents have urged the administration to take the matter seriously, conduct a prompt and impartial investigation, and ensure that appropriate legal actions are taken based on the findings.

The incident has also sparked broader concerns among sections of the community regarding safety and justice, with calls for stronger measures to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents in the future.
