Islamic radicals continued to attack on minority hindu community in Bangladesh.

This time Dalit Hindus(Rabidas community) of Srimangal in Moulvibazar district were attacked.  

The attackers  were reported to have vandalized houses and temples of poor Hindus and looted their valuables.  

The incident took place at a Harijan Palli of Arambagh residential area of Srimangal Upazila in Moulibazar district on September 15.

It’s learnt that a few days ago, a young man from the area named Joy Robidas , had qurrled with Shafiq Mia, a Muslim youth from the neighboring area.  At this time, Shafiq threatened Joy Robidas.

According to the complaint of the victims, on the night of September 15,  a group of Muslim youths equipped with lethal weapons attacked the Harijan Palli of Arambagh residential area in the town, entered houses and started beating the family members including girls and women. Even some attackers beat the family members andtried to strip clothes of some girls and women.

The attackers also ransacked, vandalized temples and  looted valuables from the houses.  Joy Robidas’s family was the worst affected in this attack.  
Joy Robidas’s family was worst affected by the attackers. His total loss was estimated worthabout TK 10 lakh.

Several people were injured following this attack. Many injured were released after first aid, but Keshab Ravidas (30) and Moyna Robidas were sent to Moulvibazar Hospital for better treatment.

Sumitra Rabidas filed a written complaint against 25 people including Shafiq Mia and his brother Rafiq Mia with the Srimangal police station in this regard.  The Police arrested  Rafiq while rest remained absconding
