Neighbours and SP supporters thrashed a Muslim BJP supporter and his family in Islamnagar, Bijnor, post SP’s victory in the recent MLA by-election,  after he objected to their loud celebrations in front of his house, Hindi daily Amar Ujala has reported. The victim Zahid has demanded action by the police in a written complaint.

SP supporters gathered in large numbers on 31st May celebrating the victory of SP candidate Hazi Nayimul Hassan in the elections. Zahid, who is a resident of Islamnagar and the BJP booth president, objected to drum beatings in front of his house during the celebrations.

Allegedly, SP supporters Saddique, Salim, Aabeed, Saleem, Zareef, Rahees, Haseenu, Shahid, Iqrar who are residents of the same colony as Zahid entered his house and started abusing and beating him. Zahid’s wife Munni, daughter-in-law Kavi, son Waseem, Nazeem and daughter Uzma were also beaten. The attackers also vandalized his house and stole his valuable possessions. Zahid’s son and wife were injured seriously during the attack.

BJP supporters arrived in large numbers at the police station to protest against the incident and demanded stern action against the culprits. Senior sub-inspector Ramchandra Singh confirmed the complaint and told that the police is investigating the case.

The Bijnor police’s Twitter account has also confirmed the matter by stating that a case has been lodged in the matter based on Zahid’s complaint:

Such attacks are a direct result of the climate of political untouchability & hate created against BJP, RSS and other Hindu outfits by our dominant left-liberal intellectual class & mainstream media. BJP/RSS supporters are being attacked with impunity across the country – the brutal attacks in Kerala and West Bengal are well-known but still brushed aside as ‘routine political violence’, but BJP supporters, Hindu activists & nationalists are being murdered even in Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, UP, Bihar etc.

This news has been effectively buried by the Lutyens’ Delhi editorial class – imagine the outrage if, hypothetically speaking, a Congress supporter had been attacked in such a fashion by BJP supporters in Gujarat.

The situation of people like Zahid is even more precarious – despite being Muslims, they will not get any sympathy from the likes of Teesta Setalvad, Javed Akhtar, Saba Naqvi etc who are otherwise hyperactive in creating a Muslim victimhood narrative. But more than the apathy of our secular-liberal cabal, the bigger danger to Muslim BJP supporters comes from being branded as munafiq (hypocrites) or Murtad (apostate, traitor) by the Islamofascist radicals (JeI, JuH, AIMIM, TJ, AeH, TNTJ, PFI etc) who have an iron grip on Muslim attitudes and mindsets.
