“Time and again, the Christhutva fangs of the Joseph Vijay TVK government keep appearing; to remind the people of Tamil Nadu that it is not a secular government that is in power in the state. Instead, the signs are very clear: it is a Christhutva Fundamentalist government that is ruling Tamil Nadu.

The latest instance of Assembly speaker JCD Prabhakaran identifying as a Vanniyar Christian has furthered the Christhutva character even more.

TN Speaker JCD Prabhakar Identifies As ‘Vanniyar Christian’, Pushes Reservation For Converts

On 28 August 2026, Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar identified himself as a “Vanniyar Christian” while advocating reservation benefits for Hindus who converted to Christianity from the Vanniyar community. Speaking in the Assembly, Prabhakar said he was a member of the Tamil Nadu Deccan Vanniyar Christian Association and had personally petitioned former Chief Minister MGR in 1985 to include Vanniyar Christians in the Backward Classes list. He also recalled subsequent efforts under Jayalalithaa to extend reservation benefits to converted Christians. Prabhakar urged the present government to act favourably on the demand, citing the need for a caste-based survey.

Now let us go back a few months ago to point out the blatant Christhutva nature of the party and government…..”
