Bangladesh: Islamists grab the land of a Hindu family in Barishal

Persecution of the Hindu minorities is going on in the Muslim-majority Bangladesh incessantly. Now, a fresh case has been reported from the Barishal district of Bangladesh. Islamists forcefully grabbed the land of a Hindu family in Bakerganj Upazila of the district.

As per the reports, Islamists Lutfar Khan and Mahmud Khan grabbed the land of Titu Saha. Islamists, in large numbers, threatened the family and grabbed their land. They cut all the trees and built a boundary wall around the land.

When the Hindu family protested, the Islamists allegedly threatened them to evict them from their ancestral home.

Hindu minority Titu Saha said, “By threatening us, the Islamists grabbed our ancestral land on the 18th of February. The Islamists made false documents. They are also doing construction on our land. My wife has already filed a complaint in the Bakerganj Police Station.”

Afzal Hossain, OC of the Bakerganj Police Station, said, “We have received the written complaint. We have already started the investigation. Besides, police personnel visited the area and stopped the construction work.”
