‘…Just because a Muslim ruler might rape her?’ Swara Bhasker reiterates her ‘felt like vagina’ crap open letter on the Jauhar scene of Padmavat at an IIC event

“‘…Just because a Muslim ruler might rape her?’ Swara Bhasker reiterates her ‘felt like vagina’ crap open letter on the Jauhar scene of Padmavat at an IIC event”, OpIndia, 1 Sep 2026.

““Murakh Hriday na chet ko, jau guru milahin Biranchi sam”. This couplet by Goswami Tulsidas means that a foolish heart does not gain wisdom even with a master as great as Lord Brahma. Such has been the story of Bollywood entertainer Swara Bhasker, who had stirred a row in 2018 with her “I felt like reduced to a vagina” open letter to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the maker of the film Padmavat, over the Jauhar climax. Despite being told why her assessment of Jauhar was wrong, Swara Bhasker has reiterated her retarded take on Jauhar.

Swara Bhasker suggests Rajput women should not have committed Jauhar, as rape by Muslim rulers would not have meant the end of their lives

Speaking at the India International Centre event in Delhi on 31st August, Swara Bhasker recapped her 2018 open letter to film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Bhasker described watching hundreds of Rajput women, led by Rani Padmavati (portrayed by Deepika Padukone), walk into the fire in red as a visually spectacular, musically anthemic and emotions-heavy sequence that left her feeling “reduced to a vagina”.

“I was watching this…all these women committing Jauhar…I was like, you know, if, god forbid, been a rape survivor, what would this film tell me? I would feel like a coward. That I didn’t kill myself to save my honour. Is that what you want to tell in a society like ours, where I feel like anyway there’s a rape epidemic? Is this what you want to tell our survivors? That you don’t deserve to live. That if you were actually honourable before rape, you would have killed yourself,” Swara Bhasker said………………………….”

  1. Swara Bhasker like so many other people are showing signs of Muhammadanism Derangement Syndrome. When faced with gang like unified simmering terror of Muhammadanism, many of us, join them and turn back on their own group who are Muhammadan victims. This gives them a relieved feeling of security and even give them sense of power. This phenomenon is much like how a school bully gathers an appeasing group of sidekicks.

Muhammad, the Muslim prophet is a model of conduct and character for all times till eternity.
On his stealthy ghazwa, children who attained puberty and adult males were executed, and any remaining of monetary value were used for ransom, often cruelly tortured if ransom not provided. Babies and young boys were forcibly raised as Muslims.
Unlike younger, desirable women (maal-e-ghanimat) who were highly valued in the regional sex slave markets or sought after as concubines or even forced to an Islamic marriage (becoming one of many wives – this is mercy and respect), older women held little financial value to captors seeking reproductive or sexual assets. Consequently, older women were frequently ransomed back to their families or tribes in exchange for money or resources. If ransom was not available, then depending on their defiance or submission were either cruelly executed or used as domestic workers.

Ghazis have emulated Mohammad’s character and conduct, and women committing Jauhar would have faced similar fate.

Use of the word “rape survivor” by Swara Bhaskar and whitewashing life after such Ghazwa, and the way she is basically mocking Hindus by implication is a sign of a disturbed, stressed mind, no doubt. But what is the remedy? To my mind, not being passive and coward, but deriving strength by being united in our pluralistic dharmas ( and not just Sanatan Vedic dharma, treating Shraman dharmas dismissively), and clearly identifying our dharmic ethics and red lines and protecting ourselves and controlling and restricting the predatory religions and their followers is the only option. Otherwise, “secular” Hindus, “all paths lead to same (truth)” Hindus will only ensure our painful destruction.
