Detained: Devotee who told Kerala Speaker Shamseer that Bhagwan Ganapathy is Not a myth

A young man protested alone in front of the Kerala Assembly Speaker who came to inaugurate a cooperative bank office. Speaker AN Shamseer was also there to inaugurate the new office of a local Service Cooperative Bank in Kannur. Shamseer is seen lighting a lamp when someone from the audience repeatedly says, “Bhagwan Ganapathy is NOT A MYTH.” After the incident, the police took the youth into custody.

Shamseer insulted Hindu Bhagwans and rituals in July by dubbing them as mere myths. Bhagwan Ganesha is worshipped by over a billion Hindus. The devotee’s comments could not have come at a better time. Islamists vehemently oppose the lighting of lamps since it is a Hindu tradition. Videos of the same have gone viral, and Shamseer is brazenly seen smiling when told that Ganapathy is not a myth.

The young man protested against Shamseer’s recent statement insulting Bhagwan Ganesha and Sanatana Dharma. Experts opined they could not expect better from communists who appear as atheists in public but have deep-rooted religious hatred towards ‘Kafirs.’

Controversial Anti-Hindu Remarks

HinduPost reported when the communists made controversial propaganda remarks against Hindus at a public forum. “Ganesha and Pushpaka Vimana are not science. Those are all myths. Superstitions of the Hindutva era will hold back progress.” The only positive was that Marxists who never delivered progress are now at least speaking about it.

The Kerala Speaker’s rant against Sanatana Dharma did not stop there. Shamseer said that even in this day and age of information technology, myths of the human body and the head of an elephant exist. Myths like Pushpaka Vimana are propagated through Hindu epics and textbooks. The reference to Pushpaka Vimana is false propaganda. Accept the age of technology and dismiss myths, he added. The communists failed to clarify where such texts are used to teach children.

Shamseer’s controversial remarks came while inaugurating the Vidyajyothi SLATE Project at St. Teresa’s College in the Kunnathunad constituency near Perumbavoor in Ernakulam on 21 July. SLATE aims to inculcate a sense of equality and compassion among the students. Shamseer tried to mislead Hindu students and the project’s beneficiaries.

Shamseer did not criticize other religions, especially his religion. Earlier, Shamseer claimed that “the Holy Quran is progressive. When compared to other religions, Islam provides better protection for women.” Shamseer has represented Thalassery State Assembly Constituency in Kannur since 2016. Many Malayali Hindus allegedly consider him just another jihadi in disguise.

Shamseer and his Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) have refused to apologize for the sinful, anti-Hindu statements. Even as BJP leaders from all over the country, Hindu organizations like the Nair Service Society (NSS) Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam, Dheevara Sabha, and Yogakshema Sabha came together to condemn the remarks. NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair wanted Shamseer to apologize, but the speaker remained adamant.

When multiple complaints started to get filed, CPM leaders leaped in to defend Shamseer’s hateful comments. His speech had a ripple effect, with more leaders from different anti-Hindu political outfits making more venomous, communally divisive, and inflammatory statements against Sanatana Dharma.

Court Updates

Earlier this month, an application was filed in the Supreme Court seeking contempt action against the Director General of Police Kerala for his “blatant disregard” of the top court’s orders. Kerala police failed to lodge an FIR for hate speech following the Assembly speaker’s recent remarks on Sanatana Dharma.

The plea filed by D K Nambiar argued the “remarks amount to dog-whistling against Hindus” and are “an attempt to ridicule Hindu symbols of faith, as a clarion call for genocide,” which was made against followers of Sanatana Dharma. It contended the Kerala DGP wilfully disobeyed the orders of the Supreme Court and is liable to be proceeded against for contempt of court.

It is alleged that Kerala police have become mere puppets in the hands of their communist masters. Are these Marxists out to eradicate Sanatana Dharma for the sake of Abrahamics? Are Hindus safe against fascism in Kerala?
