Kerala speaker AN Shamseer insults Hindu Bhagwans & beliefs

A police complaint has been filed against Kerala Assembly Speaker AN Shamseer for insulting Bhagwan Ganesha and Hindu beliefs. BJP Yuva Morcha Mullakkal constituency president Vishnu Kannara complained to the police. It took hours for Hindus to react and protest against the local communist leader who many allege is a jihadi in disguise. Shamseer represents Thalassery State Assembly Constituency in Kannur since 2016.

Ganesha and Pushpaka Vimana are not science. Those are all myths. Superstitions of the Hindutva era will hold back progress. Shamseer’s words slammed Hindu beliefs, including that these are just myths in the age of artificial intelligence. Shamseer did not criticize other religions, especially his religion.

Vishnu filed the complaint along with Yuva Morcha Alappuzha district general secretary S Arun and district IT cell convener Anandu. The complaint demanded that legal action be taken against Shamseer. The complaint was lodged with Alappuzha DySP NR Jayaraj. According to the complaint, the speaker’s statement was offensive to Hindu culture and customs.

Shamseer’s controversial remarks came while inaugurating the Vidyajyothi SLATE Project, which is being implemented in collaboration between a public sector undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Ernakulam St. Teresa’s College in the Kunnathunad constituency near Perumbavoor in Ernakulam. SLATE aims at inculcating a sense of equality and compassion among the students.

Shamseer tried to mislead Hindu students who are also the project’s beneficiaries. His provocative speech was widely criticized by Hindus but has the damage been done? BJP and Hindu Aikya Vedi had come forward against Shamseer’s comments but the protests have been pretty muted.

Shamseer said that Hindu worship practices are mere myths. The superstitions of the Hindutva era are holding back progress and these are mere myths in the era of artificial intelligence.

The speaker said that even in this day and age of information technology myths of the human body and the head of an elephant exist. Myths like Pushpaka Vimana are propagated through Hindu epics and textbooks. The reference to Pushpaka Vimana is false propaganda. Accept the age of technology and dismiss myths.

But in the speech, Shamseer did not talk about the practices of other religious faiths. Shamseer’s rabidly anti-Hindu remarks were made when St. Teresa’s College manager Sister Dr. Vineeta was sitting on the stage. The Abrahamic also alleged that attempts are being made to inject faith into educational schemes. Shamseer did not elaborate on what they teach in Churches and Madrassas.

Hindu Aikya Vedi said that Shamseer’s remark that Hindu mythology is superstition is beyond the dignity of the assembly speaker. They demanded an apology from the Muslim leader who insulted the Hindu religion.

Director Ramasimhan Abu Bakar (Ali Akbar) asked, Hey Shamseer, we Hindus will bow down to Bhagwan Ganesha and believe that Sushruta invented surgery. Who are you to question us?

Earlier, Shamseer claimed that the Holy Quran is progressive. When compared to other religions, Islam provides better protection for women. The narrative being built by green communists is clear but when will Hindus understand?
