Baba Ramdev speaks up for persecuted Manipuri Hindus; urges Samaj to stand up against Hindu persecution

In a video of Baba Ramdev shared by an X user, the Dharmic Guru raises concern regarding the plight of Manipur’s Meitei Hindus who faced persecution at the hands of Kuki Christian radicals. He is among the select few Hindu Dharma Gurus who have been outspoken on the issue of Hindu persecution.

“99 per cent of Bharatiyas are unaware of the persecution of Hindu Meiteis, who are the natives of Manipur. They are being attacked and forced to flee. Some have forcibly taken over Meitei lands and properties. Drug peddlers undertake opium farming and use the proceeds to buy arms and ammunition. They’ve done a lot of atrocities on Meiteis,” Baba Ramdev says.

In his speech, Baba Ramdev also raised the issue of persecution of Bangladeshi Hindus, numbering around one crore. He highlighted how Hindu minorities are being tyrannized despite Bangladeshi citizens. He stated that they chose to stay back at the time of partition but today they are being specifically targeted. Mandirs are being vandalized, Hindu business establishments are being attacked, and Hindu women and girls are being brutalized.

He equated the situation of Manipuri Meitei Hindus with Bangladeshi Hindus. “Meiteis are facing similar persecution in Manipur. This isn’t acceptable. It is a big issue but no one is talking about the plight of our Vaishnav (Meitei) brothers because there are elements who want to take advantage of the situation for their gains,” Baba Ramdev stated. Furthermore, Baba Ramdev appealed to Hindus to speak up and stand up for Manipuri Meitei Hindus just as we do against Hindu persecution across the world.

Baba Ramdev is among the few Dharmic Gurus who have been vocal about Hindu persecution and appealed for Hindu unity. Recently, in light of the escalating violence against Bangladeshi Hindus, Shankaracharyas from the four mathas established by Adi Shankaracharya have issued a series of urgent calls for intervention, support, and solidarity. Their statements reflect a concerted effort to address the crisis and offer assistance to affected communities.

It is important that Dharma Gurus, irrespective of their Sampradays, speak up for Hindu persecution wherever it takes place across the world.
