In a tweet that has gone viral on social media, it is brought to light the fact that Hindus are allegedly facing unequal treatment and bias if they try to enter or meet with officers at the offices of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).
The videos shared in the tweets indicate that Hindu organisations, Hindu devotees, and Swamis are facing challenges in entering the TTD’s Executive Officer (EO) and Joint Executive Officer (JEO) offices to voice their grievances. According to the videos, these individuals have encountered obstacles at the entrance, often being stopped by security personnel. The person in the video claims that everyone else who is not a Hindu is allowed entry.
When they try to question the security, they are told that the officers are in a meeting and the same thing is repeated over and over again. The person in the video alleges that “The authorities were restricting the number of Hindus entering the premises whereas no such rules exist for entry of other religion people. This is a shame for us Hindus, please understand what is happening in TTD.”
A particularly notable incident involved a Christian employee who was allowed unrestricted access to the TTD premises, despite a sticker on his bike that read “Yahowa is the saviour.” Even the son of a local MLA, who happens to be the Deputy Mayor, was allowed access, however, those wearing saffron or were visibly Hindu were not allowed to enter the premises.
This occurrence has raised concerns among Hindu groups, who perceive this differential treatment as emblematic of a broader issue within the institution.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board
It was just recently that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board Chairman was appointed. The Chairman, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, is said to be allegedly having Christian leanings as reported here.
Such apathy and rude behaviour by the TTD officials has caused severe disappointment and dejection among Hindu devotees of Venkatachalapathy, the deity of the Tirumala Tirupati temple.
